Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple process for the easy pleating work of a cloth having high stiffness and composed of a thermoplastic fiber yarn by flattening and drawing the cloth in the direction of the fold. SOLUTION: A hot-drawing blade is pressed against a plain weave fabric woven by using a thermoplastic fiber yarn such as polypropylene monofilament yarn as the warp and the weft and the fabric is flattened and drawn in the direction of the fold and heat-treated under folding to obtain a prescribed pleated cloth.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, pleated fabrics which are used by being extended and deployed in an opening of a house or the like or folded and stored, and a method of manufacturing the pleated fabric, have been described as pleating properties (J.
(ISL1060), foldability and storage, deformation resistance to external forces such as wind pressure, and deformation resistance to temperature and humidity. Various combinations and methods for processing have been studied in the selection of a resin for processing resin for the purpose of imparting the following.

However, there is still a problem in the present situation. For example, the folding / extension resistance becomes too large to improve the pleat performance, and the operation feeling at the time of folding / extension is impaired, or the pleat opening angle is increased. Web and thermosetting resin devised as a means to prevent the pleated wire part from returning to its original folded state when it is left for a long time When using a method to obtain the expected performance by peeling or breaking the processing resin agent of the pleated line portion from the web by folding it during pleat processing in combination with the processing agent, the pleated width portion is bent during use. If this occurs, the resin will peel off or break like the pleated wire, leaving a problem in durability. It was. As a specific example of the defect in the latter case, there is a case in which fibrous materials are hardened using a binder, and a paper or a nonwoven fabric is pleated by indentation.

As described above, the conventional techniques have disadvantages,
These disadvantages must be overcome in order to provide a pleated fabric body of good performance. Therefore, the present invention solves the above-mentioned drawbacks, and provides a new pleated fabric body which has a small fold resistance when folding the pleats and a small extension resistance when the pleats are stretched, has a large flexibility in the pleated width portion, has strength, and is self-supporting. And a method of manufacturing the same.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION The present invention is characterized by the structure as described above. To be more specific, first, the thermoplastic fiber yarn constituting the fabric is:
There is no particular limitation on the type thereof, and various types such as polyvinyl chloride type, polyamide type, and polypropylene type may be used. Instead, it may be a fabric, a knit, or the like as appropriate. In any case, in the pleated fabric of the present invention, the fiber yarn is flattened in the fold direction at the pleated portion, and this state is maintained.

[0008] This flat stretching is realized as room temperature processing or heat processing. More preferably, it is realized by hot rolling. As for the method, for example, the pleated portion (8) can be formed on the cloth body (3) using a pleating device (2) as illustrated in FIG. That is, as illustrated in FIG. 1, while the fabric body (3) is being fed in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure, heat-stretching mold blades (4) are provided above and below the fabric body (3), The fabric body (3) is heated and pressurized by pressing the stamper (6) facing the mold blade (4) and the fabric body (3). The heated and pressurized fabric body (3) is accelerated by heating and rapidly plastically deforms. When the stamper is released from pressurization, the fiber yarn of the heated and pressurized portion is shown in an enlarged scale in FIG. It is formed as follows. By setting the temperature of the hot-stretching mold blade (4) at this time near the thermal deformation temperature inherent to the thermoplastic fiber material, plastic deformation can be performed efficiently. Further, by pressing not only the drawing die blade but also the stamper (6), the stamping can be performed more efficiently.

Then, the fabric body (3) is heated by a heater (7) provided in the pleating device (2) while alternately folding the fabric body (3) with the fold portion plastically deformed as a pleated portion (8). The final pleated part (8) is formed. There is no particular limitation on the heat treatment temperature at this time,
It is sufficient that the shape of the pleated fabric body can be maintained in the folded state.

The pleated part (8) as a fold
As shown in FIG. 2, the fiber yarn is stretched flat in the fold direction, and the aspect ratio a / b of the flat stretched portion is determined by the material of the fiber yarn. It will be determined in consideration of the characteristics and the use and performance of the pleated fabric. Generally, it is preferable that a / D = about 0.1 to 0.5 with respect to the diameter D of the fiber as the material.

For example, as described above, FIG.
As illustrated in B>, a pleated fabric (10) is obtained. The pleated portion (8) of the pleated fabric body (10) of the present invention thus obtained has a corner (9) as shown enlarged in a dotted circle in FIG. ,
As described above, a portion having a smaller specific cross-sectional area than the periphery extending in the two-dimensional plane direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the stamper (6) is formed. That is, the hinge-shaped pleated portion (8) can be arbitrarily set and processed so that the secondary moment of area in the bending direction is smaller than the surrounding portion.
FIG. 3B illustrates a woven state. Each part (9) can be easily moved.

EXAMPLE 1 A plain woven fabric comprising a polypropylene monofilament yarn (300D) as a warp and a weft was used as a fabric body, the tip of a hot-drawing mold blade was R0.5 mm, and the temperature was raised by applying a current using tungsten as a material. The temperature was kept at about 80 ° C., the plastic deformation was performed by applying pressure with a stamper, and the sheet was treated at a heater temperature of about 100 ° C. while being folded to obtain a pleated fabric. As shown in FIG. 2, a / D is about 0.3.
The drag required for folding and stretching was small, and the folded state after leaving the pleat open angle at 120 degrees for 1200 hours at room temperature was satisfactory.

Comparative Example 1 A pleated fabric was obtained by using the same plain woven fabric as in Example 1 as a fabric, and treating at a heater temperature of about 100 ° C. while folding the pleated wire portion without heating and stretching. The drag required for its folding and extension is great,
When the pleats were left at room temperature with the pleat opening angle set to 120 degrees, the folds were not folded after one hour.

Of course, the present invention is not limited by the above examples. Various aspects are possible regarding the type of thermoplastic fiber, yarn composition, weaving structure, shape of the plastically deformed portion, etc. of the thermoplastic fiber constituting the fabric body, and the method of heating the fabric body of the heat-stretching mold blade. Needless to say.

The pleated fabric of the present invention can reduce the resistance when the pleats are folded or stretched even when a fabric having high rigidity and softness, in other words, a stiff fabric is used. Further, the bending stiffness can be made smaller at the corners of the pleat portion than at the periphery, and the plastic deformation shape is alternately arranged and configured with respect to the neutral axis of the cross section of the fabric body orthogonal to the pleat line of the fabric body. This makes it possible to change the section modulus and make it easier to fold alternately.
The bending direction is not limited to the valley fold or the mountain fold in the hinge-shaped portion. Bending in any direction is possible. The production can be performed easily and easily as compared with conventional pleating.
