Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb an error in the mounting position over a wide range. SOLUTION: A metal piece as terminal furnished on a connector 20 for base board (female connector) has a lead part 31 at one end and an electric connection part 32 at the other end, and between the two, an elastical deformation part 33 having a small wall thickness is furnished. The lead part 31 of the terminal piece is located on the side with a stationary housing 23 fixed to a board 11, and the electric connection part 32 is furnished on the side with a movable housing 24 displaceable relative to the stationary housing 23, and a part 33A in an inverted U-form provided in the elastical deformation part 33 is accommodated in the gap 26 formed between the two housings 23 and 24. Because the elastical deformation part 33 has small wall thickness and is easily be deformed, there is less risk of any greater stress being applied to the mounting part to the board 10 of the connector 20 even if the movable housing 24 is displaced largely with respect to the stationary housing 23.

2. Description of the Related Art When connecting between conductive paths of a pair of substrates, board connectors are respectively attached to predetermined positions of both substrates, and when the substrates are mounted at predetermined positions, the connectors for both substrates are fitted together. There are things that are in a state. In this type of connector, if there is an error in the mounting position of the connector with respect to the board, the mounting of the board itself may be difficult because the connectors cannot be fitted when the board is mounted at a predetermined position. Therefore, in such a case, even if there is a mounting error in the board connector, it is preferable to absorb the error and allow the connectors to be fitted to each other and the board to be mounted. Conventionally, as a board connector having a function of absorbing this kind of mounting position error, Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No.
The one described in JP-A-163125 is known.
As shown in FIG. 7, a movable housing b is accommodated in an outer shell a so as to be freely movable.
A terminal fitting c having a deformed portion d bent in an inverted U-shape is attached to the outer shell body a. Then, when there is a positional error between the terminal fitting e provided on the mating connector and the movable housing b being moved in the left-right direction in FIG. Absorb the error and use the corresponding terminal fittings c and e
They come into contact with each other.

However, since the conventional device has a structure in which the terminal fitting c having relatively high rigidity is deformed, if the amount of error absorption, that is, the deformation amount of the terminal fitting c becomes large, the opposite effect occurs. There is a possibility that a large stress acts on the portion g of the terminal fitting c soldered to the substrate f due to the force, and the portion g is peeled off, and the error absorption range is limited. The board connector of the present invention has been completed based on the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to allow a mounting position error to be absorbed over a wider range.

As means for achieving the above object, the invention of claim 1 is provided on one substrate so as to electrically connect between conductive paths of a pair of substrates, and is provided on the other substrate. A board connector connected to a fixed mating connector, a fixed housing fixed to the board, a movable housing displaceable with respect to the fixed housing and capable of fitting with the mating connector, and one end side A terminal fitting located on the fixed housing side and connected to the conductive path on the substrate and the other end side located on the movable housing side and connected to the mating connector, between the fixed and movable housings of the terminal fittings; It is characterized by having a thin elastic deformation portion formed.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, when a position shift occurs between a pair of substrates, the movable housing is displaced with respect to the fixed housing to absorb the position shift.
The elastic deformation portion of the terminal fitting is elastically deformed with the displacement of the movable housing. Here, since the elastically deformable portion is formed to be thin and has high flexibility and is easily deformed, even if the elastically deformed portion is greatly deformed, there is little possibility that a stress acts on a portion where the connector is attached to the board. Therefore, it is possible to cope with the absorption of the positional deviation over a wide range.

The elastically deforming portion 33 has an inverted U
An inverted U-shaped portion 33A bent in a letter shape is provided, which is accommodated in a gap 26 between the fixed housing 23 and the movable housing 24. The displacement between the housings 23 and 24 is absorbed by the elastic deformation of the inverted U-shaped portion 33A. The elastic deformation portion 33 is thinner than the lead portion 31 and the electrical connection portion 32 in order to increase flexibility.
In order to reduce the thickness, the terminal fitting 30 is formed from the metal plate 35 shown in FIG. The metal plate 35 is a drawn material having a thin portion 35A at the middle part in the left-right direction in FIG. 4, and the metal plate 35 is punched into an elongated prototype 36 as shown in FIG. Here, for example, the substrates 10, 11 are accommodated in a case (not shown) and the substrates 10, 11 are displaced from each other, or the substrates 10, 11 are displaced from each other due to thermal deformation. In this case, the movable housing 24 is displaced with respect to the fixed housing 23 to absorb the displacement.
At this time, the terminal fitting 3
0 is elastically deformed, and each of the connectors 13 and 2 is elastically deformed.
The effect of the stress on the portion where the “0” is attached to the substrates 10 and 11 is reduced. In the female connector 20 of the present embodiment, since the elastically deformable portion 33 of the terminal fitting 30 is formed to be thin, it is rich in flexibility and easily deformed. , 11 are less likely to be subjected to a large stress on the mounting portion.

<Other Embodiments> The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments. For example, the following embodiments are also included in the technical scope of the present invention.
In addition to the following, various changes can be made without departing from the scope of the invention. (1) In the above-described embodiment, the thin portion 3
5A, the elastic deformation portion 33 of the terminal fitting 30 was thinned. For example, a prototype having the same planar shape as the prototype 36 shown in FIG. 5 was punched from a metal plate having a uniform thickness. Alternatively, the intermediate portion of the prototype may be hit to make it thinner. (2) Further, as shown in FIG. 6, the terminal fitting 30 can be formed into a final shape including the thin portion 30A only by a punching process from a metal plate material.
