る顕像剤担持部材と、 該顕像剤担持部材に対向する位置に設けられた背面電極
部材と、 前記顕像剤担持部材と背面電極部材との間に位置し、顕
像剤を飛翔制御させるための制御電極部材とを備えた画
像形成装置において、 前記制御電極部材と背面電極部材との間に顕像剤の飛翔
エネルギーを吸収し顕像剤を一時的に保持する表面を有
する中間転写部材と、 該中間転写部材に接し当該中間転写部材の表面に残留し
た顕像剤を取り除くために該顕像剤の帯電極性と逆極性
の電圧が印加されたクリーニング部材とを具備したこと
を特徴とする画像形成装置。
