Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for hanging nonrepaired bricks whereby the falling-down of nonrepaired bricks of the upper part of a combustion chamber of a coke oven during elevating the temp. of repaired bricks can be avoided in repairing the combustion chamber and to provide a metal fitting which hangs nonrepaired bricks and is easily removable from the nonrepaired bricks. SOLUTION: In this method, nonrepaired bricks 1 at the upper part of a combustion chamber of a horizontal chamber oven are supported by inserting a hanging metal fitting 5 through a flue peeping hole 4; repaired bricks 2 are stacked at the lower part of the combustion chamber; an expansion space between the repaired bricks 2 and the nonrepaired bricks 1 is filled with a filler; then the chamber temp. is raised to 400 deg.C or higher; and the fitting is removed out of the oven. The fitting comprises a hanging rod 7 and a supporting bar 8 fitted to the top thereof, the supporting bar 8 being freely rotatably fitted at the position apart from the center of gravity.
