CATAL.REV.-SCI.ENG., 37 (2), 311-352 (1995) or the Chemical Society of Japan, quarterly chemistry review 20, `` The chemistry of polyacids ''
Photocatalysts, polymerization reactions, olefin hydration reactions and aldehydes, olefins, (di) alcohols using oxygen and hydrogen peroxide as oxidizing agents, using heteropolyacids as catalysts;
Chemical reactions such as phenol or amine oxidation reactions are listed. JP-A-63-84637 describes reactions such as glycosidation, acetalization, etherification, esterification, ether exchange, transesterification and oxidation using a heteropoly acid as a catalyst and a saccharide as a substrate. Have been. JP-A-63-159391 describes a method for producing aryl glycosides by reacting phenols with an acylated saccharide as a substrate using a heteropolyacid as a catalyst. J. Org. Chem., 51, 1599-1602 (1986) states:
Using a composite acid catalyst substantially of phosphotungstic acid type,
A carboxylation reaction of a diol using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent is described. Starch, 41 (8), 303-309 (1989) describes an oxidation reaction of starch using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidizing agent using a complex acid catalyst substantially of phosphotungstic acid type. Since a heteropoly acid is generally expensive, it is important to develop a method for recovering the heteropoly acid after using the heteropoly acid as a catalyst for industrially carrying out the above-described method using the heteropoly acid as a catalyst. J.Org.Che
m., 53, 3587-3593 (1988) describes a method in which a heteropolyacid is combined with a quaternary ammonium salt surfactant to have an affinity for an organic phase. It does not disclose a method for efficiently recovering the above heteropolyacid catalyst.

That is, the present invention provides a step of bringing an aqueous phase containing a heteropolyacid into contact with (1) an organic phase comprising an organic solvent containing an oil-soluble amine to transfer the heteropolyacid to the organic phase; After the transfer to the organic phase, the organic phase is brought into contact with an aqueous phase to recover the heteropolyacid, which comprises the step of transferring the heteropolyacid to the aqueous phase. To
(2) A method characterized in that the pH of the aqueous phase in the step is controlled to be alkaline. The aqueous phase containing the heteropolyacid in step (1) is brought into contact with an organic phase composed of an organic solvent containing an oil-soluble amine to transfer the heteropolyacid to the organic phase. 4 or less, preferably 0 to
6.0, and more preferably 1.0 to 4.0. The molar amount of the oil-soluble amine used is preferably at least the acid equivalent of the heteropolyacid, more preferably at least twice the acid equivalent. The volume ratio between the aqueous phase and the organic phase is selected from 100: 1 to 1: 100, preferably from 10: 1 to 1: 2. Since a small amount of the oil-soluble amine may be transferred to the acidic aqueous phase, it is preferable to additionally provide a solvent extraction step to recover the oil-soluble amine from the aqueous phase. The organic phase in the step (2) is brought into contact with an aqueous phase, and the pH of the aqueous phase after transferring the heteropolyacid to the aqueous phase is 7.1 or more, preferably 7.5 to 7.5.
Thirteen. The molar amount of the oil-soluble amine used is preferably not less than the acid equivalent of the heteropolyacid, more preferably 2 to the acid equivalent.
More than double. The volume ratio of the aqueous phase to the organic phase is 100: 1 to 1
1: 100, preferably 20: 1 to 1: 2. To adjust the pH, it is preferable to use a water-soluble acidic or basic inorganic compound. For example, mineral acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, and hydroxides or carbonates of alkali metals such as sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are preferably used. The operation of bringing the organic phase into contact with the aqueous phase is a known extraction device,
It is preferably carried out by a multistage countercurrent extraction device. Centrifugation or coalescer may be used for the treatment of the interface.

It is. Examples of the aliphatic amine include a primary amine, a secondary amine and a tertiary amine in which one, two, or three alkyl groups having 5 or more carbon atoms are bonded to a nitrogen atom. Primary or tertiary amines having one or three alkyl groups bonded thereto are preferable, and tertiary amines having three alkyl groups having 5 to 10 carbon atoms bonded to a nitrogen atom are more preferable. As the alicyclic amine, an amine composed of a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring having 5 or more carbon atoms is preferable, and piperidine and a derivative thereof are more preferable. A mixture of two or more oil-soluble amines may be used. When ammonia or a quaternary ammonium salt is used in place of the oil-soluble amine, an insoluble precipitate is generated, or the liquid-liquid separation between the aqueous phase and the organic phase is poor, and the heteropolyacid can be efficiently recovered. Not easy. The combination of the solvent and the oil-soluble amine is selected from those described above, but from the viewpoint of liquid-liquid separation, diethyl ether / tri-n-octylamine, diethyl ether / piperidine, ethyl acetate / tri-n-hexylamine , Ethyl acetate / piperidine, octyl alcohol / n-octylamine, dichloromethane / tri-n-octylamine, chloroform / tri-n-octylamine and carbon tetrachloride / tri-n-octylamine are preferred combinations. In particular, as an organic phase, a nitrogen atom has 5 to 1 carbon atoms.
A combination of a tertiary amine having three alkyl groups of 0 and a specific solvent, for example, ethers / tri-n-octylamine and carbon halide / tri-n-octylamine are combined with an aqueous phase and an organic phase. Liquid-liquid separation with the phase is extremely excellent,
This is preferable because the loss of the amine to the aqueous phase is extremely small.
More preferred are combinations of diethyl ether / tri-n-octylamine, dichloromethane / tri-n-octylamine, chloroform / tri-n-octylamine and carbon tetrachloride / tri-n-octylamine.
