Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise and improve comfortableness by a method wherein one sheet of shielding plate, shielding the half of respective air passage sectional areas of four sets of air outlet ports, is provided while arbitrary two or three air outlet ports are selected by changing the position of the shielding plate without changing the shielding area of the air passages. SOLUTION: One sheet of shielding plate 7, shielding the half of respective air passage sectional areas of four sets of air outlet ports 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, is provided. The shielding plate 7 is provided with the structure of one sheet of square plate, having a size and configuration as well as movable dimensions wherein the total area of shielding is not changed even when the plate 7 is moved from a position, shielding the half of respective air passage sectional areas, into a position, shielding the whole of the air passage for one set of the air outlet port, and not shielding an opening 6. According to this method, a wind speed is not changed since the area of the air passages is not changed even when air is sent out by the shielding plate 7 into two or three directions whereby the comfortable property of the air conditioner will not be lost by the increase of noise.
