The super-abrasive cutting edge is protruding and has a sharp abrasive grain edge, so that the sharpness is good and the grinding efficiency is high, and the super-abrasive grains are highly concentrated, so that the abrasive grains have less uneven wear. Since superabrasive wheels can perform highly efficient and highly accurate processing, they are widely applied to various workpieces from soft rubber to hard cemented carbide. A superabrasive wheel is usually composed of a single layer of abrasive grains, and does not cause autogenous action due to falling off of the abrasive grains. For this reason, if chips generated by grinding adhere to the gaps between the superabrasive grains on the grinding wheel surface or are welded by frictional heat, there is a problem that the grinding force is greatly reduced. Various attempts have been made to prevent clogging of the superabrasive wheel with chips and improve the flow of the grinding fluid. For example, Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 62-7361 proposes an electrodeposition wheel for grinding in which a large number of recesses are provided in an abrasive layer on the surface of a base metal to reduce the area ratio of the abrasive layer in the working surface. . However, the work of providing the concave portion on the surface of the base metal is complicated, and it is difficult to efficiently process the work. Electrodeposition of superabrasive grains after masking the base metal, and an electrodeposition wheel for grinding in which the area ratio of the superabrasive layer occupying the working surface has been reduced has been proposed.
The operation of masking the base metal and the operation of removing the masking material are troublesome. In addition, when there is a portion where the abrasive grain layer is not continuous, there is a problem that the adhesive strength of the abrasive grain layer is likely to decrease. Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2-9586 discloses a method in which a grinding action surface is provided with a knurled knurl so as to reduce the generation of grinding heat and sufficiently obtain a cooling effect by a grinding fluid. There has been proposed an electrodeposition grindstone capable of improving the finished surface roughness by reducing the surface roughness. However, it takes time and effort to form knurls on the grinding surface, and it is particularly difficult to apply the method to other than a straight type grindstone. In addition, Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No.
No. 114743 discloses that a base metal is formed of a material that is worn by contact with a workpiece, a large number of projections are uniformly distributed on the entire grinding surface, and a superabrasive grain layer is formed on peaks and valleys of each projection. By controlling the amount of superabrasive grains on the working surface by fixing the surface, the sharpness does not decrease even if the wear on the grinding surface progresses, and the electrodeposition whetstone that can maintain good grinding performance and Proposed. However, such a work of providing a large number of protrusions on the entire grinding surface is complicated, and forming the base metal from a material that is worn by contact with the work piece restricts applicable work pieces. Means receiving.

FIG. 1A is a perspective view of one embodiment of the superabrasive wheel of the present invention, and FIG. 1B is a side view thereof. The superabrasive wheel shown in the figure has one spiral groove 2 on the entire working surface 1 on which the superabrasive particles are fixed, and the area of the spiral groove portion occupies 25.0% of the entire working surface. FIG. 2 is a side view of another embodiment of the superabrasive wheel of the present invention. The super-abrasive wheel shown in FIG.
Has two spiral grooves 2, and the area of the spiral grooves is
It accounts for 12.5% of the total working surface. FIG. 3 is a side view of another embodiment of the superabrasive wheel of the present invention. The superabrasive wheel shown in the figure has two intersecting spiral grooves 2 formed by turning on the entire working surface 1 on which the superabrasive particles are fixed, and the area of the spiral groove portion is 43.8% of the entire working surface. Occupy. In the superabrasive grain wheel of the present invention, the entire working surface where the superabrasive grains are fixed has a spiral groove, and the superabrasive grains are also fixed in the spiral groove, but the superabrasive grain layer in the spiral groove is The area excluding the spiral groove portion is not involved in the grinding but is involved in the grinding as the effective area of the superabrasive layer. Therefore, by selecting the width and the number of spiral grooves provided on the entire working surface, the effective area ratio of the superabrasive grain layer occupying the working surface can be arbitrarily adjusted. By reducing the area ratio, a superabrasive wheel having excellent sharpness can be obtained. In the superabrasive grain wheel of the present invention, the area of the spiral groove is preferably 10 to 80% of the entire working surface on which the superabrasive grains are fixed. If the area of the spiral groove is less than 10% of the entire working surface, the effective area ratio of the superabrasive layer may be too large, and it may be difficult to ensure good sharpness.
If the area of the spiral groove portion exceeds 80% of the entire working surface, the effective area ratio of the superabrasive layer becomes too small, and the grinding efficiency may be reduced.

ができる。In the superabrasive wheel of the present invention, the superabrasive layer is also formed in the spiral groove and a continuous superabrasive layer is formed on the entire working surface. Unlike a superabrasive wheel having a small area ratio, there is no end surface of the superabrasive layer on the working surface, and there is no possibility that the superabrasive layer will fall off due to a force applied to the end surface during the grinding operation. In the superabrasive wheel of the present invention, the width of the spiral groove is equal to 0.1.
It is preferably from 1 to 10 mm, more preferably from 0.3 to 3 mm. If the width of the spiral groove is less than 0.1 mm, it is necessary to narrow the pitch of the spiral groove and lengthen the total length of the spiral groove in order to adjust the effective area ratio of the superabrasive layer on the working surface. Becomes If the width of the spiral groove exceeds 10 mm, the width of the superabrasive layer sandwiched between the two spiral grooves also becomes relatively wide, so that the flow of chips and grinding fluid on the surface of the superabrasive layer may be defective. is there. In the superabrasive grain wheel of the present invention, the number of spiral grooves is preferably as small as possible. When spiral grooves do not intersect, about 1 to 3 are desirable. When spiral grooves intersect, 2 to 6 is desirable. Processing more than this number is time-consuming. The superabrasive wheel of the present invention can have not only the straight shape shown in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 but also an overall shape. FIG. 4 is a side view of one embodiment of the superabrasive wheel of the present invention having a general shape. The superabrasive wheel shown in the figure has a working surface 1 whose cross section is an arc-shaped concave surface, and has one spiral groove 2 on the entire working surface 1 on which the superabrasive particles are fixed. The area of the spiral groove occupies 25.0% of the entire working surface.
The superabrasive wheel of the present invention having a general shape in which such a working surface is a concave curved surface is suitable for a wide range of fields such as glass, plastic, wood, ceramic, ferrite, and metal, including centering of a lens. Can be used.

/ 400 is preferable. After a grindstone having a spiral groove formed on the entire working surface is degreased, it is immersed in a plating bath, and a portion of the working surface of the base metal in the plating bath is filled with superabrasive grains. Next, the cathode is connected to the base metal, and the anode is connected to the plating solution to perform electroplating. The metal to be plated is not particularly limited as long as the superabrasive grains can be temporarily fixed to the base metal. For example, nickel, copper, chromium, or the like can be suitably used. When one layer of the superabrasive is temporarily fixed and does not fall off the surface of the base metal, the plating is stopped and the base metal is pulled up from the plating tank. The base metal temporarily fixed with one layer of superabrasives is immersed in the plating tank again, the cathode is connected, the anode is connected to the plating solution and the electrodeposition is continued, and the superabrasives are fixed to the base. The working surface is formed to obtain the superabrasive wheel of the present invention. Further, the super-abrasive grains can be fixed to the base metal by electroless plating. The metal used for electrodeposition or electroless plating is not particularly limited as long as it can fix the superabrasive grains to the base metal as in the case of temporary fixing, and nickel, copper, chromium, etc. are preferably used. be able to. According to the method of the present invention, by selecting the number and width of the spiral grooves, the effective area ratio of the superabrasive layer in the working surface can be freely adjusted. The formation of the spiral groove in the grindstone can be performed by turning using a lathe or the like. The superabrasive wheel of the present invention exhibits an effect as a superabrasive wheel having a small effective area ratio of the superabrasive layer in the working surface, has a small grinding resistance, and does not easily cause clogging. The superabrasive wheel of the present invention can be applied to grinding of any work material such as metal, glass, plastic, ceramic, and ferrite, has excellent sharpness, and has a long tool life.

It was immersed in a nickel plating bath containing 0/325 diamond abrasive grains, and one layer of the diamond abrasive grains was temporarily fixed. The base metal to which the diamond abrasive grains were temporarily fixed was further immersed in a nickel plating bath to continue plating, and embedding plating of diamond abrasive grains having a thickness of 50 μm was performed to obtain a superabrasive wheel. Using this superabrasive wheel, a diameter of 200
The center of an optical glass lens of mm and material BK7 was centered.
The lens centering machine has a spindle horsepower of 0.75 kW, a centering speed of 1,784 m / min, and a workpiece speed of 0.2 m / min. I took it. With this superabrasive wheel, 3,100 optical glass lenses could be processed. Comparative Example 1 A superabrasive wheel was obtained in the same manner as in Example 1 except that no spiral groove was provided on the outer peripheral surface serving as the working surface. Using this superabrasive wheel, the same optical glass lens as in Example 1 was centered. The surface of the abrasive layer was clogged in a short period of time, and when 1,200 optical glass lenses were processed, the flatness could not be reduced to 1 μm or less, and replacement of the superabrasive wheel was required. Comparing the results of Example 1 and Comparative Example 1, the superabrasive wheel of the present invention in which the spiral groove is provided on the working surface is 2.5 times or more as compared with the conventional superabrasive wheel without the spiral groove. It can be seen that it has a lifetime of.

Further, since the superabrasive layer is formed continuously on the entire surface of the working surface including the inside of the spiral groove, there is no possibility that the superabrasive layer is peeled off by the force applied to the end face during the grinding operation. According to the method of the present invention, spiral grooves can be easily formed by turning, and the effective area ratio of the superabrasive layer in the working surface can be easily adjusted.
