Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a crease at the bending corner where the center of the vertical wall of a dash panel and a floor tunnel are connected. SOLUTION: At the central part of the vertical wall 1b of a dash panel 1 where a floor tunnel 3 is opened, a recessed part 11 with the width almost corresponding to the width of the opening of the floor tunnel 3, and swelling to an engine room E.R side as the whole is formed, and by expanding the curvature radius of a bending corner C where the vertical wall 1b and the floor tunnel 3 are connected, the generation of a crease at the bending corner C in the press formation time can be avoided, and by putting in an air- conditioning function part in the recessed part 11, a margin space can be obtained at the rear side of the air-conditioning function part, so as to realize the front tilting arrangement of the operation surface of an instrument panel, and the visibility of the operation surface and the workability of the instrument function parts can be improved.

The electronic component 8 effectively utilizes the closed cross-sectional space of the cowl box 4, which is a frame member in the vehicle width direction at the front waist portion of the vehicle body, which also functions as an outside air introduction portion of the blower unit 5, and However, as described above, the blower unit 5 is disposed on the side of the dash panel 1 on the passenger side, and the air inlet 5a of the blower unit 5 is provided in the cowl box. Since the electronic component 8 is disposed inside the cowl box 4 because the opening is formed on the side of the passenger seat 4 of the passenger seat 4, an outside air intake (not shown) formed on the other side of the air inlet 5 a and the cowl box 4 is formed. In the air circulation route connecting the entrance,
Since the electronic components 8 exist as air resistance and impede the air supply performance of the blower unit 5, the electronic components 8 are not restricted to the foot space of the front occupant as described above. It is in fact that it has to be arranged on the club.

The bent corner C at the periphery of the tunnel opening where the vertical wall 1b of the dash panel 1 and the floor tunnel 3 are connected is formed so as to be angular so that the heater unit 7 and the electronic components 8 can be dashed as much as possible. 1 vertical wall 1b
In this case, wrinkles are likely to be generated at the bent corners C by the excess of the panel material at the time of press forming of the dash panel 1, which not only impairs the quality but also reduces the production yield. Tends to be worse.

As described above, even if the bent corner portion C is formed to be angular and the heater unit 7 and the electronic component 8 are arranged as close as possible to the vertical wall 1b of the dash panel 1, The heater unit 7 has a large dimension in the front-rear direction, and instrument functional parts 10 such as instruments and audio equipment protrude forward from the back of the instrument panel 9.
Since there is no room in the space between the heater unit 7 and the functional component 10, it is necessary to secure the non-interference space between the heater unit 7 and the functional component 10 by forming the operation surface 9a of the instrument panel 9 upright. In addition, the visibility of the operation surface 9a of the instrument panel 9 and the operability of the instrument function component 10 deteriorate.

Therefore, the present invention can avoid the occurrence of wrinkles due to press forming at the bent corners of the tunnel opening periphery where the vertical wall of the dash panel and the floor tunnel are connected, and are disposed on the front end of the floor tunnel. A space can be provided in the front-rear direction between an instrument panel such as a heater unit of an air conditioner, and the operation surface of the instrument panel is formed to be inclined forward to improve visibility and operation of instrument parts. An object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle body structure capable of improving the performance.

According to the structure of the above-described embodiment, the central portion of the vertical wall 1b of the dash panel 1 in which the floor tunnel 3 is opened has a width substantially equivalent to the opening width of the floor tunnel 3, and the entire engine room E. The radius of curvature R of the corner C at the periphery of the tunnel opening where the vertical wall 1b and the floor tunnel 3 are connected is increased by forming a concave portion 11 bulging to the R side. Since C is formed with a relatively large roundness, generation of wrinkles due to press molding of the dash panel 1 can be avoided, and the quality can be improved and the production yield can be increased.

Further, since the front end of the air-conditioning function component such as the heater unit 7 disposed on the front end of the floor tunnel 3 can be inserted into the recessed portion 11, as described above, the periphery of the tunnel opening can be reduced. Radius of curvature R of the corner C of the bend
Even if it is enlarged, an extra space can be obtained behind the air-conditioning function component. Therefore, even if the operation surface 9a of the instrument panel 9 is formed to be inclined forward, the instrument panel is incorporated into the operation surface 9a. The instrument functional component 10 protruding forward inside the 1 does not interfere with the air-conditioning functional component, the visibility of the operation surface 9a can be improved by the forward inclined arrangement of the operation surface 9a, and the instrument functional component 10 Operability can be improved.
