2. Description of the Related Art As a method of forming a multicolor image, a photoconductor, a charger, a developing device and the like are provided in the same number as required for the image. (A)
A device (B) for forming a color image by repeating charging, image exposure and development for each color by rotating one photosensitive member a plurality of times, or charging and image exposure for each color within one rotation of one photosensitive member. In addition, an apparatus (C) and the like for forming a color image by sequentially performing development are known.

However, the device (A) requires a plurality of photoconductors and an intermediate transfer member, and thus has the disadvantage of increasing the volume of the device. On the other hand, the device (B) requires only a charging unit, an image exposure unit and a photoconductor. However, since the volume is reduced, the size of the formed image is limited to the surface area of the photosensitive member or less.

Although the apparatus (C) enables high-speed image formation, it is necessary to dispose a plurality of sets of a charger, an image exposing means and a developing unit in one circumference of a photoreceptor, and an optical system for exposing an image. The image quality may be impaired due to contamination of the toner leaking from the developing unit close to the system, and it is necessary to increase the distance between the image exposing means and the developing unit to avoid this. There is a contradiction of increasing the size of the device.

Photosensitive drum 1 by each of these exposure optical systems
The exposure of the organic photosensitive layer of No. 0 is performed from the inside of the drum through the above-mentioned transparent substrate. Therefore, the exposure of the images corresponding to the second, third and fourth color signals is performed without any influence from the previously formed toner image, and the first exposure is performed.
It is possible to form an electrostatic latent image equivalent to the image corresponding to the color signal of. In order to stabilize the temperature inside the photoconductor drum 10 and prevent the temperature rise due to the heat generation of each exposure optical system 12, a material having good thermal conductivity is used for the supporting member 20,
When the temperature is low, a heater is used, and when the temperature is high, heat is radiated to the outside through a heat pipe. When the developing operation is performed by each developing device, the developing sleeve 130
A developing bias with a direct current or an alternating current applied thereto is applied, and jumping development is performed by the one-component or two-component developer housed in the developing device, so that the transparent conductive layer is not in contact with the photosensitive drum 10 grounded. Reversal development is performed.

Although the color image forming apparatus in which the process cartridge 30 and the developing device 13 are housed in the upper main body I side has been described in this embodiment, the present invention includes the process cartridge 30 and the developing device 13 as shown in FIG. Even in an apparatus of a type in which the transfer belt device 140, which is a transfer portion when the upper main body I is accommodated in the lower main body II side, is moved upward, the process cartridge 30 and the developing device 13 are transferred by the same configuration and operation procedure. After retracting the belt device 140, the process cartridge 30 can be attached to and detached from the lower main body II in an upward direction, which is in contact with the transfer portion.
