Abstract

(57)【要約】 【課題】 キーボードやポインティングデバイスの接続
ケーブルを不要としたワイヤレスデータ入力装置を提供
する。 【解決手段】 ポインティングデバイス内蔵形ワイヤレ
スキーボード１６はデータエンコーダ２１、ＲＦ送信機
２２を有し、キーデータ並びにポインティングカーソル
データを受信ユニット３へ送信する。受信ユニット３は
コンピュータ１のキーボード接続コネクタ６とマウス接
続コネクタ７へ接続ケーブル８，９によって接続され
る。受信ユニット３はデータデコーダ１１、入出力制御
部１２を有し、受信データを復号して双方向通信により
データをコンピュータ１へ入力する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明はパーソナルコンピ
ュータへデータを入力するキーボード等のデータ入力装
置に関するものであり、特に、ワイヤレスデータ入力装
置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】パーソナルコンピュータシステムは、コ
ンピュータとキーボードとＣＲＴ等のディスプレイ装置
とによって構成され、一般的にマウス等のポインティン
グデバイスも使用される。キーボードは接続ケーブルを
介してコンピュータに接続され、ポインティングデバイ
スはコンピュータ或いはキーボードへ接続ケーブルによ
って接続される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】コンピュータへケーブ
ルを介して接続するキーボードやポインティングデバイ
スは接続ケーブルによって配置場所が制約されるととも
に、接続ケーブルが邪魔になる場合がある。そこで、キ
ーボード等とコンピュータとの通信を電波や赤外線等に
よって無線化したものも提案されているが、ポインティ
ングデバイス等とコンピュータ間で双方向通信を行うた
めに夫々に送受信機能を持たせているので、回路構成並
びに通信制御が複雑化してコストアップにつながるとい
う問題がある。
【０００４】そこで、簡素な構成でキーボード並びにポ
インティングデバイスをワイヤレス化したデータ入力装
置を提供するために解決すべき技術的課題が生じてくる
のであり、本発明は上記課題を解決することを目的とす
る。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は上記目的を達
成するために提案するものであり、アルファニューメリ
ックキーボード或いはコマンドキーボードとポインティ
ングデバイスとキーデータ並びにマウスカーソル制御デ
ータ等をＲＦ通信データに変換するエンコーダとＲＦ送
信機とを有するワイヤレスデータ送信ユニット、並び
に、ＲＦ受信機とＲＦ通信データを復号するデコーダと
入出力制御部とを有し、コンピュータのキーボード並び
にポインティングデバイスの接続コネクタへ接続ケーブ
ルを介して接続される受信ユニットとによって構成した
ワイヤレスデータ入力装置を提供するものである。
【０００６】上記のワイヤレスデータ送信ユニットは受
信ユニットへ単向通信を行い、受信ユニットはコンピュ
ータと双方向通信を行ってデータをコンピュータへ入力
する。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、この発明の実施形態を図に
従って説明する。図１は本発明のワイヤレスデータ入力
装置を用いたパーソナルコンピュータシステムの構成を
示し、１はパーソナルコンピュータ、２はＣＲＴディス
プレイである。ワイヤレスデータ入力装置の受信ユニッ
ト３にはキーボード出力コネクタ４とマウス出力コネク
タ５とが設けられており、パーソナルコンピュータ１の
キーボード接続コネクタ６とマウス接続コネクタ７とへ
夫々接続ケーブル８，９によって接続されている。
【０００８】受信ユニット３は、ＲＦ受信機１０とデー
タデコーダ１１と入出力制御部１２、ＣＰＵ１３と通信
インタフェース１４とを内蔵している。ＲＦアンテナ１
５から入力された受信電波はパーソナルコンピュータ１
の入力データ形式に適合する形態に複号され、パーソナ
ルコンピュータ１と通信インタフェース１４を介して双
方向通信を行う。
【０００９】ワイヤレスキーボード１６は、図２に示す
ように一般的なキーボードと同様にアルファニューメリ
ックキー１７、ファンクションキー１８、テンキー１９
を有し、前部中央位置にポインティングデバイス２０が
配置されている。図１に示すように、筐体内にはデータ
エンコーダ２１、ＲＦ送信機２２、ＲＦアンテナ２３が
内蔵され、キー１７，１８，１９並びにポインティング
デバイス２０を操作することにより発生するデータ出力
は、データエンコーダ２１によって受信ユニット３との
通信仕様に適合するシリアルデータに変換され、ＲＦ送
信機２２を介して送信される。
【００１０】受信ユニット３の入出力制御部１２はパー
ソナルコンピュータ１と通信インタフェース１４を介し
て割込み要求や転送要求の双方向通信を行い、ケーブル
接続されたキーボードと同様に、キーデータやマウスカ
ーソルデータ等がコンピュータ１へ入力される。
【００１１】また、図１に示す他のワイヤレスデータ送
信ユニットであるワイヤレスリモートコントローラ２４
は、ＣＲＴディスプレイ２或いはコンピュータ１を介し
て制御する他のテレビジョンやＡＶ機器等の音量やチャ
ネル等の種々のコマンドキー２５とポインティングデバ
イス２６、データエンコーダ２７、ＲＦ送信機２８、Ｒ
Ｆアンテナ２９を備えている。パーソナルコンピュータ
１に各機器の制御プログラムを導入しておくことによ
り、ポインティングデバイス２６を操作してＣＲＴディ
スプレイ２のアイコンをクリックし、目的とする機器を
選択したり操作メニューを表示させて対話形式で操作す
ることが可能である。
【００１２】尚、本発明は上記実施形態に限定するもの
ではなく、送信ユニット並びに受信ユニットの構成は本
発明の技術的範囲内において種々の改変ができ、本発明
がそれらの改変されたものに及ぶことは当然である。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明のワイヤレ
スデータ入力装置は、キー入力装置とポインティングデ
バイスとが接続ケーブルから解放されるため、設置場所
や移動の制約が解消されるとともに、キーボード等と受
信ユニットとは単向通信であり、受信ユニットとコンピ
ュータとが双方向通信によって入出力制御を行うので、
送信機と受信ユニットとの通信制御が簡素であるという
利点を有し、低コストでワイヤレスシステムを構築でき
る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 アルファニューメリックキーボード或い
    はコマンドキーボードとポインティングデバイスと、キ
    ーデータ並びにマウスカーソル制御データ等をＲＦ通信
    データに変換するエンコーダとＲＦ送信機とを有するワ
    イヤレスデータ送信ユニット、並びに、ＲＦ受信機とＲ
    Ｆ通信データを復号するデコーダと入出力制御部とを有
    し、コンピュータのキーボード並びにポインティングデ
    バイスの接続コネクタへ接続ケーブルを介して接続され
    る受信ユニットとによって構成したワイヤレスデータ入
    力装置。
