Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inclination, deformation, etc., for a terminal caused by thermal stress and shaking of the terminal due to fitting and separation of a connector. SOLUTION: A case 10 internally stores a printed circuit board 20. Support leg parts 22b of a male terminal 22, diverged into the three fork shape, is inserted into a mounting hole from the upper face side of the printed circuit board 20 and fixed by means of welding, and a terminal main body part 22a penetrates the through hole of an upper case 11 in a non-constraint state. Since the male terminal 22 is fixed to the printed circuit board 20 only, stress due to thermal expansion does not occur. In addition, since the male terminal 22 is so fixed as to be rooted at the printed circuit terminal 22 by means of three support leg parts 22b, it never inclined or shaken during fitting and separation of a connector.

By the way, the printed circuit board is generally made of a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin as a main material, and is generally made of a thermoplastic resin such as a polypropylene resin as a main material. Have greatly different thermal expansion coefficients. Specifically, the coefficient of thermal expansion of the case may reach 5 times to 10 times that of the printed circuit board, and the printed circuit board hardly undergoes thermal deformation with respect to temperature changes, whereas the case made of resin does not. The case will greatly expand or contract.

However, since each male terminal of the connector is fixed to the upper case by press fitting and is also fixed to the printed circuit board by soldering, the male terminal is located at two points vertically apart from each other in the longitudinal direction. The upper case and the printed circuit board are simultaneously restrained. For this reason,
The stress caused by the difference in thermal expansion applied to the two points causes a problem that the male terminal is inclined and deformed, which makes it difficult to connect the connector.

As disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 16110, it is conceivable that the terminals are soldered to the printed circuit board while the insertion holes are formed in the upper case of the branch connection box so that the terminals can be freely inserted in an unconstrained state. However, if this configuration is adopted, the terminal will not be fixed to the upper case this time, so the fixing force of the terminal will be insufficient, and the terminal will wobble due to the force acting on the terminal when the connector is mated and unmated. Eventually, the terminals may be tilted to cause improper fitting.

With this structure, the terminals are fixed to the printed circuit board, and the case is freely inserted into the insertion hole to be in an unrestrained state, so that the printed circuit board and the case have a difference in thermal expansion. Even if the terminals are displaced from each other due to this, the terminals are only displaced according to the printed circuit board, and no unnatural stress is generated between the terminals and the case. As a result, it is possible to reliably prevent the terminal from being deformed due to thermal stress.

<First Embodiment> A first embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. As shown in FIG. 3, the case 10 of the branch connection box of this embodiment is composed of an upper case 11 and a lower case 12 which are mainly made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin such as polypropylene, and the lower case 12 has an open upper surface. While forming a thin rectangular container shape, the upper case 11 has a plate shape that closes the open upper surface of the lower case 12, and both are fixed in a closed state by a screw (not shown). On the upper surface of the upper case 11, a plurality of hood-shaped connector blocks 13 having an open upper surface are integrally projected, and thermal caulking projections 14 are integrally projected on the four corners of the lower surface. Further, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, in the connector block 13 of the lower case 12, the external dimensions of the lateral cross section of the terminal main body portion 22a of the male terminal 22, which will be described later, are sufficiently larger. An insertion hole 15 having a size that allows insertion (in a non-restrained state) is formed.

In the case 10, a rectangular printed circuit board 20 mainly made of epoxy resin or the like is used.
Is housed. The printed circuit board 20 has fixing holes 21 corresponding to the heat crimping projections 14 formed at the four corners thereof. It is fixed to the upper case 11 of the case 10. The printed circuit board 20 includes the connector block 1
The male terminals 22 are erected so as to correspond to No. 3. The male terminal 22 is manufactured, for example, by punching out a conductive metal plate, and is provided with three supporting leg portions 22b, which are branched into three or three, in a row at the lower end of the terminal main body portion 22a. . On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 4, the printed circuit board 20 has three mounting holes 2 for each male terminal 22 at the terminal fixing position.

According to the above construction, the male terminal 22 is fixed only to the printed circuit board 20, and the upper case 11 is in an unrestrained state by freely penetrating the insertion hole 15 thereof. Therefore, even if the upper case 11 and the printed circuit board 20 undergo thermal expansion due to temperature change and the thermal expansion amounts differ, the male terminal 22 is not.
Does not generate an unnatural stress with the upper case 11 because it is displaced according to the printed circuit board 20. As a result, it is possible to reliably prevent tilt deformation of the male terminal 22 due to thermal stress. Also, since such thermal stress is repeatedly generated,
Although this may cause a solder crack in the soldered portion, according to the present embodiment, thermal stress is not generated in the solder portion, so that the solder crack can be surely prevented.

Further, in order to fit the connector into the branch connection box of this embodiment, a female connector (not shown) is inserted into the connector block 13, and to detach the connector, the female connector is inserted. The connector is pulled out from inside the connector block 13. At the time of mating / unmating of such a connector, a frictional resistance of both terminals may exert a force that twists the male terminal 22. However, in this embodiment, the male terminal 22 branches the three support leg portions 22b into three pieces and is fixed to the printed circuit board 20 so that the male terminal 22 is fixed. Even if a large twisting force acts on 22, it is possible to reliably prevent the male terminal 22 from tilting or wobbling.

<Second Embodiment> FIG. 7 shows only a difference between the second embodiment of the present invention and the first embodiment, and the structure other than the illustrated portions is the same as that of the first embodiment. . Here, too, the male terminal 30 is the terminal main body 3
The lower part of 1 is provided with three support legs 32. The central support leg portion 32 extends straight downward from the terminal main body portion 31, but the support leg portion 32 located on the left side in the drawing has a crank portion 32 extending in an L shape along the plate surface of the printed circuit board 20.
The support leg 32 located on the right side in the drawing is connected via the L-shaped crank portion 32b in the opposite direction. Therefore, the two support legs 32 on the left and right sides are
The two are sandwiched, and are spaced apart in the direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the terminal main body 31. As a result, even if there is a situation in which the male terminal 30 is prone to fall in a direction perpendicular to the plate surface of the terminal main body 31, the two left and right support leg portions 32 are supported to prevent falling deformation. The effect that it can be surely prevented is obtained.
