2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, so-called metal wood made of metal has been favored instead of a wooden driver. As a manufacturing method thereof, a method using casting using the lost wax method is known, but variations in product thickness easily occur,
Also, there is a problem in how to balance. Therefore, it has been proposed to divide a golf club head having a predetermined shape into a fate portion, a crown portion, and a sole portion, and integrally join these with a shaft to form a golf club (see Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 61-33972). ).

According to the present invention, there is provided a golf club head comprising a face portion and a hosel portion integrally molded, and a joint portion between the face portion and the hosel portion. The metal golf club head is characterized in that an extending portion extending rearward is formed at the opposite end thereof. In the extension part on the hosel part side, the crown part has a joint surface with the face part on the front surface and the side surface on the hosel side, and the extension amount is large on the hosel part side. In the extending portion opposite to the portion, the joint surfaces of the crown portion and the sole portion with respect to the face portion are formed so as to be different from each other.

Further, the end portion of the extending portion and the end portion of the crown portion or the end portion of the sole portion joined to each other by butt jointing are respectively formed with protruding portions projecting inward. The club head is formed by combining the protrusions on the inner side, providing a groove portion on the outer side slightly deviated from the combination portion, and welding the groove portion. Furthermore, in the case of joining the end side surface of one member and the end portion of the other member, a step portion is provided at the joining end portion of one member, and the end portion of the other member is overlapped at the step portion, This is a golf club head in which a groove is provided on the outer side of the overlapping portion of the both, and the groove is welded.

Further, the projecting parts projecting inward of the butt joint part are formed so as to mesh with each other, and the groove part is provided outside the meshing part so as to be displaced from the meshing part.
By welding there, the welding is easy and the joint becomes stronger. Also, a step is provided at the joining end of one member, the ends of the other member are overlapped at that step, and a groove is provided outside the overlapped parts at both ends, that is, the welding surface from the simply butted position. By offsetting, it is possible to eliminate the risk that one member may hang down during welding and the welding strength may drop.

FIG. 2 is an example showing a state in which they are assembled and joined. The face portion 1, the crown portion 3 and the sole portion 4 are bent and joined in a hook shape at the extending portion 6, so that the joining strength is increased. . In the figure, 7 is a shaft. FIG. 3 shows a cross section of the butt welded portion, which is formed so as to cover the outside of the end of the sole 4 on the inside of the end of the face 1.
In addition, a protrusion 8 is formed on the sole portion so as to receive the tip of the face portion 1.
They are united in one. A groove 12 is formed in the face portion 1 and the sole portion 4. As for the relationship between the crown portion 3 and the face portion 1 on the opposite side, the protruding portion 8 is formed so that the inner end portion of the face portion 1 covers the outer end portion of the crown portion 3,
On the other hand, the face portion 1 is formed with a projecting portion 10 so as to receive the tip of the crown portion 3, and the both are joined by a contact surface 11. A groove 12 is formed on the outer joint surface between the crown portion 3 and the face portion 1. The position of the groove 12 is deviated from the facing surface 11. Then, each groove 12 is welded 13. FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of the joint portion between the crown portion 3 and the face portion 1. In addition,
Although an example in which the welded structure of the face portion 1 and the sole portion 4 (the former) and the welded structure of the crown portion 3 and the face portion 1 (the latter) are used together has been disclosed above, in the present invention, either the former or the latter is disclosed. It is also possible to adopt a welded structure of either one. Also, these welded structures have sole parts 4
It can also be applied to a welded structure of a crown portion 3 and a crown portion 3.

In FIG. 3, when the protruding portion 8 of the sole portion 4 is brought into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the face portion 1 (not shown in the drawing), the impact load applied to the face portion is directly received by the weld portion. Instead, since it is received by the protruding portion, the load on the welded portion can be reduced. Protrusions 8 and 10 are provided on the crown portion 3 and the face portion 1, and the groove 1
The same effect can be expected by shifting the positions of 2 and the contact surface 11. It is particularly effective when welding with the face portion 1. FIG. 5 shows an example in which the member 15 (for example, the sole member) is joined to the member 14 (for example, the face member) from the end side surface. That is, the step portion 1 is provided at the end of the member 14.
8 is formed, the end portion of the member 15 is overlapped from the side surface side to form a groove 16, and welding 17 is performed there. By joining in this manner, the tip of the member 15 is more stably joined than the tip side surface of the member 14 is simply butted, and the joining becomes stronger.

FIG. 6 is an explanatory view showing an example of a method of molding the crown portion 3, for example, a molding portion (cavity 21) is provided between the upper die 19 and the lower die 20, and the upper die is inserted into the molding portion 21. A metal material for molding is pressed by a stem 22 through a material charging hole 23 provided in 19 and plastically worked to mold the crown portion 3. The protrusion 8 at one end of the crown portion 3 is molded at the same time. In this molding, the heating mold 24 is used to hold the upper mold 19
The lower mold 20 is heated and the temperature is adjusted by the thermocouple 25.
