Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of cracks at the root of a flat tube by a method wherein a pair of boss units are provided integrally on the front surface and the rear surface at the intermediate part of lengthwise direction of main bodies of a pair of tanks while both of the pair of tank main bodies are connected and fixed by a reinforcing bar through the both units. SOLUTION: The peripheral rims of a pair of slender tube plates 2, fixing the ends of a multitude of parallel flat tubes 1 so as to be liquid tight or air tight, are bent toward the center of lengthwise direction of the flat tubes 1 so as to form annular grooves 3 while the opening ends of a pair of slender tank main bodies, made of aluminum or a synthetic resin, are fitted to the annular grooves 3 through an O-ring and the annular grooves 3 are fixed to the small flange units 5a of the tank main bodies 5 through caulking. Respective pair of boss units 6 are projected on the front surface and rear surface of the tank main bodies 5 at the intermediate part of lengthwise direction while screw holes are formed at the center of the boss units 6. A reinforcing bar 8 is closslinked between said boss units 6 and both ends of the bar 8 are clamped and fixed to the boss units 6 of respective tank main bodies 5 through bolts 9.

2. Description of the Related Art As shown in FIG. 3, a tank body 5 made of aluminum or synthetic resin for a heat exchanger such as an intercooler is formed in an elongated box shape with one end open, and a small flange portion is formed at the opening edge. 5a is provided. And, both ends of a large number of parallel flat tubes 1 (the lower end is omitted)
It is inserted into the tube plate 2, and the insertion portion is fixed by brazing in a liquid-tight manner. An annular groove 3 is formed on the peripheral edge of the tube plate 2 so as to protrude toward the center of the flat tube 1, and a small flange portion 5a of the tank body 5 is fitted into the annular groove 3 via an O-ring 4. Then, the edge portion of the outer side wall 3a of the annular groove 3 is bent to form the caulked portion 3b. A corrugated fin (not shown in the figure) is interposed between a large number of flat tubes 1 arranged in parallel. Then, a heat exchange medium such as high-temperature charge air flows into the inside of one tank body 5, is guided to the other tank through the inside of each flat tube 1, and while it passes through the inside of the flat tube 1, The flat tube 1 is cooled by the cooling air flowing to the outer peripheral side.

However, in the heat exchanger having the tank body 5 made of aluminum or synthetic resin, when the internal pressure is applied to the heat exchanger, the tube plate 2 caulked on the tank body 5 is exposed to the outside. The inner peripheral wall of the annular groove 3 of the tube plate 2 is deformed as shown in FIGS. That is, the annular groove 3 of the tube plate 2 is deformed so as to be expanded, and as a result, the sealing property between the tube plate 2 and the tank body 5 is impaired, and the tube plate 2 and the flat tube 1 are
The crack 1a may occur in the root part of. In that case, the heat exchange medium may leak from there. Then, this invention aims at providing the heat exchanger which prevents such deformation | transformation of the tube plate 2, and does not produce a crack in the root part of the flat tube 1 with sealing property, and in order to achieve the objective, Take the configuration of.

Next, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of an essential part of the present invention as an intercooler taken along the line II of FIG. 2, and FIG. 2 is a front view thereof. The same parts as those of the conventional heat exchanger are designated by the same reference numerals. This embodiment is different from the conventional one in that a pair of boss portions 6 are provided on the front surface and the rear surface of the tank main body 5 at an intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction, respectively. Then, a screw hole is formed at the center thereof. This screw hole is preferably composed of an embedded nut. Such a boss portion 6 and a screw hole are
It is arranged at the same position on the front surface and the rear surface of each of the pair of opposed tank bodies 5. Then, the reinforcing bars 8 are bridged to these boss portions 6, and both ends thereof are fastened and fixed to the boss portions 6 of the respective tank bodies 5 with bolts 9. The heat exchanger thus configured is composed of a pair of tank bodies 5, 5
The spacing can be kept constant by the reinforcing bar 8. Therefore, even if internal pressure is applied to the tank body 5, the tube plate 2 can be prevented from moving toward the flat tube 1 side and deforming.

In the heat exchanger of the present invention, a pair of boss portions 6 are integrally provided on the front surface and the rear surface of each tank body 5 at the longitudinal middle portion of the pair of tank bodies 5. A pair of tank bodies 5 are connected and fixed by a reinforcing bar 8 via a boss portion 6. Therefore, even if the pressure in the tank increases, the tube plate 2 can be prevented from moving toward the flat tube 1 and deforming. As a result, the sealability between the tube plate 2 and the tank body 5 is ensured, cracks are prevented from being generated at the root portions of the tube plate 2 and the flat tube 1, and a highly reliable heat exchanger can be provided.
