De-correlation receiver for asynchronous CDMA channel
Technical field
The present invention relates generally to communication devices, and more particularly to CDMA communication devices.

background
In personal and cellular communication systems, a large number of mobile users
They communicate via a central base station by sharing a common channel. This
In such a system, users are required to make sure that all users can communicate.
Multiple connection method must be adopted to enable sharing of channels
. Traditionally, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA)
It has been used. In recent years, direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA)
A leading alternative to FDMA and TDMA for urban digital mobile radio networks
Has attracted great attention as a means. DS-CDMA is mobile-user specific.
Existing signature sequence (signature seqeunce)
Duplication occurs, but certain users
Knowledge of this user's code is required at the base station to demodulate the data
It is said that One of the claimed advantages of CDMA over FDMA or TDMA
And support more concurrent users. Drawbacks associated with CDMA
Is a so-called near-far problem, in which the received energy of the mobile signal is
It occurs when arriving at the base station with equal strength. Traditionally, we have overcome this near-far problem.
For that reason, power control was proposed. However, power control greatly reduces system complexity.
Then, it does not solve the near-far problem but only alleviates this problem.
One solution to this problem is the inverse decorr

There is a law. This method is described by R. Lupas and S. Verdu by "Near-far resistanc

The approach requires interleaving / deinterleaving of the incoming signal. These two
Conditions increase the complexity of both transmitters and receivers used in the system
. Furthermore, the window proposed in this reference is a sliding window.
It A sliding window is a window from one window to another.
It is a window that slides. Ie 5 bit window
C) In length, the first window contains bits 1-5 and the second window has bits 2
Accommodates ~ 6. This method of windowing the incoming signal partially overlaps
The number of overlapping windows becomes large. Each window has an inverse correlation matrix
Since it has to be multiplied, this method requires a large calculation load.
Therefore, there is a need for a receiver that decorrelates the incoming signal without the complexity of the prior art.

It is minimized using a known polarity. This technique can be used for delay and receiver
Greatly reduces physical complexity.

After multiplication, the receiver then makes a final polarity decision (+1 or up) based on the sign of the generated output.
Or -1). By decorrelating the signal of the wireless device, device 100
Eliminates the dependence of the signal of one radio device on the received energy of the signal of another radio device
It
To illustrate how wireless device 100 operates, assume a two-user system,
The solution of the decorrelation in the first window is the generation vector [3.561, -9.3348].T
Where T represents transpose operation. At that time, the device 100 is
It is determined that the first bit of the 1 is +1 and the first bit of the user 2 is -1. Next
The receiver then uses 3.561 as the energy estimate for the first user and the energy estimate for the second user.
9.348 is used as the energy estimate. These estimates are for User 1 and User.
User 2 is subtracted from the value in the next window and then re-correlated by the inverse correlation matrix.
It is multiplied by. This program
The process continues until the signal is decorrelated.
An important advantage of the present invention is that only a small part (window) of the transmission sequence
To reduce the decoding delay, storage conditions, and
Only small matrices need inversion. This reduces the complexity of the device 100 and
Produces decorrelated results with much higher efficiency and faster. In addition,
Device 10 by incorporating a remote symbol assisted modulation (PSAM) into the system.
Zero does not have to form an estimate of the polarity of the bits before and after each window. Each we
Between wireless devices 302, 304, 306, all wireless devices
Send a set bit. Therefore, the device 100 has all bits between windows.
Grasping the polarity of, the estimation method is not necessary. Furthermore, the window proposed here is
, Divide the data into non-overlapping (non-sliding) blocks. For example, 5 bits
The first window contains bits 1-5 and the second window
The window contains bits 6-10. This is a sliding window
Is much more efficient than the window method proposed in the prior art
.
