Prediction method for physical property data of hydrocarbon products
The present invention uses a neural network to (near) infrared ((N.
) I. R. ) Correlating the spectrum with the physical properties of interest to determine the physics of the hydrocarbon product.
It relates to a method of predicting characteristic data. These physical properties include octane number and steam.
Atmospheric pressure, cetane number, density, etc. are included. Especially, mid-infrared rays (3 to 14 μm) are cetane
Used to determine ignition enhancer concentration.
As will be apparent to those skilled in the art, organic compounds are single molecules in the infrared region (about 1 to about 300 μm).
Has one spectral fingerprint.
Recent market trends for hydrocarbon products such as bulk fuels are
Take more responsibility for quality and performance. One fuel is much more powerful than another
Every marketing campaign to convince customers that
It is open and this philosophy is expected to continue. Purification of such an approach
Complete maintenance of quality from blending to final customer supply
Need more assistance. If you measure the performance of the fuel using quality monitoring equipment,
Get the most out of your needs.
At this time, it is necessary to check whether the fuel after it is delivered from the refinery meets the specifications.
The inspections performed to improve can be improved. For gasoline, transparency and odor
Simply manually inspect and record the density. This is a modern developed scorpion
This is not enough given the very complex nature of Actually measure fuel performance
A quality monitoring equipment package is advantageous because it can lead to fuel decomposition, co-contamination with other fuels, and
And changes in fuel composition are detected by the distribution chain to determine the position.
Can be specified. This ensures that the customer receives the fuel as intended.
Not only is it able to find and handle problems along the distribution chain.
Wear. The most important performance measure of gasoline is the octane number (ON). this is
It is currently measured by a standard engine in a refinery laboratory. This engine
It is an equipment part that requires high equipment cost and requires frequent maintenance and calibration.
And requires highly trained operation and results analysis staff. Labor and cost
Because of this, it is not possible to install such an engine along the distribution chain.
Therefore, it is necessary to find a cheaper alternative octane number measurement method.
A similar performance measure of diesel oil is the cetane number. This is diesel oil
It is an amount that represents the ignition characteristics of. The engine exists for cetane oil measurement.
The reference fuel is used similarly to the octane number measurement of automobile gasoline. these
Reference fuels are n-cetane and α-methylnaphthalene. Ignition quality is the cetane number (

Cetane is not used for "cetane" and is usually measured by other measurements (eg density and distillation).
It is calculated as "index." However, the cetane index is a future diesel fuel.
Is not suitable and requires an alternative cetane number measurement method.
By applying a neural network, the octane number of unleaded gasoline is calculated in the near infrared (N

It
However, the octane number of hydrocarbon products such as gasoline is thus

It is further advantageous to apply (near) infrared radiation (0.7-3 μm wavelength).
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figure 1 is a book

The present invention provides a close approximation of the physical properties of hydrocarbon products such as octane number, vapor pressure, density, etc.
Based on the principle of correlation with the infrared spectrum. This principle is well known (example

In general, a neural network uses the phase of input variables and output variables during the learning period.
It can be defined as a system in which functions are searched. Enough examples for this study period

In the following, the invention will be described with particular reference to the prediction of the octane number of gasoline.
The invention is not limited to this, and can be used to predict vapor pressure, density, cetane number, etc.
It will be obvious to those skilled in the art.
According to the present invention, various crude feedstocks and intermediate oil refineries

Choose this area because it is this area that can be balanced.
Several individual wavelengths are used as input to the neural network.
Convert to the receipt data. Data part of spectrum set corresponding to gasoline of training set
The analysis is carried out in the following way:
1. Generate an average spectrum of the set and calculate the difference and average value between each individual spectrum
To calculate.
2. The average spectrum is about 5000 data points and 100 gasoline collections.
The problem of combined analysis is very difficult. Reduce the data to a manageable number of problem variables
Technology needed

3. In the case of neural network technology, the number of measurement wavelengths is physically reduced to
Data reduction. Data reduction is done in the following ways: eg Principal Component Analysis
Such multivariate statistical techniques were used in the light oil training set to determine each step in correlation with octane number.
Generate a "characteristic spectrum" showing the relative importance of vector data points
. The spectral measurement is then simplified, typically to a number of 5-10 individual wavelengths. Sucking
The luminosity value is used as an input to the neural network.
Advantageously, the number of wavelengths chosen is alcohol-free but oxygenat.

When it is necessary, it is 6. Cetane number measurement monitors the concentration of cetane ignition enhancement additives
Besides, it is advantageous to choose a wavelength of 6-7 μm.
One of the wavelengths is advantageously used as a transmission reference for correction of any equipment drift.

It is currently measured by a standard engine in refinery laboratories. This engine is a costly equipment part to install, requires frequent maintenance and calibration, and requires highly trained results processing and analysis staff. Due to labor and cost, it is not possible to install such an engine along the distribution chain, so there is a need to find a cheaper alternative octane number measurement method. A similar performance measure of diesel oil is the cetane number. This is an amount that represents the ignition characteristics of diesel oil. The engine exists for cetane oil measurement. The reference fuel is used similarly to the octane number measurement of automobile gasoline. These reference fuels are n-cetane and α-methylnaphthalene. Ignition quality is expressed as the cetane number (% by volume of cetane in the α-methylnaphthalene-containing blend whose ignition performance is comparable to that of the fuel of the test engine). In practice, the cetane engine is rarely used and cetane is usually calculated as the "cetane index" by other measurements (eg density and distillation). However, the cetane index is not suitable for future diesel fuels and alternative cetane number measurement methods are needed. In general, it has already been proposed to apply a neural network to determine the octane number of unleaded gasoline as a function of the near infrared (NIR) spectrum (Survey Report of July 1, 1991, 571). -See "Determination of fuel properties" on page 572). However, the octane number of a hydrocarbon product such as gasoline is thus I. R. There is room for improvement in predicting from the spectrum, thus providing an accurate method of predicting octane numbers for unknown gasoline (both leaded and unleaded) that can predict octane numbers for blended products and process streams with a wide range of octane numbers. It is an object of the present invention. For other physical properties of hydrocarbon products (eg vapor pressure, density and cetane number), prediction accuracy needs to be improved as well. Furthermore, it has already been proposed to determine the cetane number of gas oils as a function of the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum (see, for example, European Patent Application Publication No. 0,304,232). However, to date, the cetane number of gas oil has been reduced to the I. R. It was impossible to predict from the spectrum. Therefore, the present invention provides a measured (N.) I. R. A neural network data processing and optimization method applied to determine physical property data of hydrocarbon products from spectral absorbance is provided. The method comprises: a) (N.) I.V. of a large number of hydrocarbon product sample sets from a wide range of sources. R. The spectrum was measured; b) The (N.) I. R. Select the overtone (overtone) region of the spectrum; c) for each (N.) I. R. Select some discrete wavelengths in the spectrum, convert some of the wavelengths into absorption data, and then convert the absorption data into 2-5 layers, if there are 3 or more layers, the input layer Used as an input to a neural network characterized by having 3 to 10 nodes, 1 to 10 hidden layer nodes, and 1 to 3 output layer nodes; d) For the training data, the neural network is trained to learn the relationship between both data by iterative presentation of (near) infrared data and its associated physical property data for inputs and known outputs or hydrocarbon products. Monitoring the predictive performance against the actual relevant physical property data measured by standard methods, thus correlating the absorbance values with said relevant physical property; e) adjusted after the learning period of step d) Generating a set of interconnect weight and bias values for said network; f) using a network algorithm, said adjusted value is measured under the same conditions for a hydrocarbon product having unknown physical property data ( Near) infrared spectrum.
