Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide manufacturing cost reduction by performing material availability with good efficiency in applying press punching to a socket contact and to obtain a socket connector at the card side of a connector for a PC card which positively obtains the sequence requested in JEIDA/PCMCIA. CONSTITUTION:A socket contact 10 is provided with two beams 11, 12 having contact parts for a mating pin contact. The first beam 11 at its basic part is located at nearby a holding part to an insulator and is extended toward the opening part of a mating pin contact receiving hole. The second beam 12 at its basic part is located at the opening part side and is extended toward a holding part to the insulator. The basic parts of both the beams are integrally connected to each other by a connecting part 15 extended in the mating pin contact receiving hole. The beams are bent from the connecting part so that contact parts 13, 14 for the mating pin contact may face each other.
