2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, it is known that an expansion / contraction device developed for expansion / contraction joints of a superstructure of a bridge which is a statically fixed structure is diverted to a seam gap of a road and used as a joint for a road bridge. (For example, the microfilm of Jitsukai Sho 59-61306). This conventional expansion and contraction device that is diverted as a road bridge joint softens the impact when the vehicle passes through the gap portion provided for buffering, improves running performance, and protects the structure. Effectively exerting the effect. Further, different effects can be exhibited due to the difference in the type and scale of the target structure, the type of displacement appearing in the gap, and the difference in size.

Also in the case of bridges, although there are cases in which shear displacement in the vertical direction occurs, it is a displacement due to live load and is normally recovered to a state where there is no displacement. As a countermeasure for this case, a structure that can follow up and down shear displacement, and that has strength that can withstand the impact caused by shear displacement even after shear displacement has generally been taken. It is a method. However, when such a telescopic device is applied to a road joint in a submerged tunnel,
It is necessary to re-install it to recover the running condition on the premise that the road performance is sacrificed.

At this time, repair work is carried out by adjusting the thickness of the pavement material 18 on the vertical shaft side so that it is at the same height as the road surface of the vertical shaft 10a. When the subsidence of the shaft 10a on the vertical shaft side further progresses, the displacement of the unequal subsidence is dealt with by replacing the level adjustment member 17 with a thicker one. Since the level of the expansion joint body 1 is adjusted by the method as described above, the slope of the road surface is only the slope on the vertical shaft side, the slope on the submerged box side, and the slope between them. It does not damage the
There is little impact on the expansion joint body 1 and the damage to the expansion joint body 1 or the structure in the vicinity thereof is not unnecessarily hastened. Further, since the correction after the vertical displacement progresses is easy, the period of traffic regulation for that is short and the cost is low.
