Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration transmission from a washing machine to a floor by detecting the unbalanced state of laundry inside a rotary drum, selectively comparing it with plural prescribed unbalance levels and selecting different operations or operation modes based on a compared result. SOLUTION: A water discharge pump is operated at the time T1 of ending a low-speed washing stage BV and a low-speed rotary dehydrating stage CBV is started. Then, when the stage CBV is ended at the time T2, an unbalanced state monitoring mechanism for the laundry inside the drum is operated and the unbalanced state is detected. When the unbalanced state is smaller than a prescribed value, the rotary dehydrating stage is continued after the time T2 as well and the operation is performed at a middle speed rotary dehydrating speed CMV. When the unbalanced state is larger than the prescribed value, the time T0 is returned from the rotary dehydrating stage CBV. Until a value smaller than the prescribed value is reached or until the number of times of repetition becomes the prescribed maximum number of times, the low-speed rotation BV, the low-speed rotary dehydrating stage CBV and laundry unbalanced state detection are automatically repeated.

During each washing process of a domestic washing machine, the laundry contained in the rotating drum of the washing machine tends to be distributed along the inner edge of the drum, sometimes in a very non-uniform manner. When an imbalance moment that causes an abnormal magnitude of vibration and mechanical stress is generated and the vibration and mechanical stress exceed a predetermined critical level, in particular, the vibration level of the washing drum portion of the washing machine is If the drum is so high that it collides with the outer casing of the washing machine, the mechanical structure of the washing machine may be damaged.

From the viewpoint of preventing such a state, the magnitude of mechanical stress generated each time is immediately predicted depending on the speed at which the drum actually rotates, and the mechanical stress reaches a critical level. It is necessary to prevent it from occurring. This usually involves changing the speed of rotation of the drum in a suitable manner, i.e. more evenly distributing the laundry in the drum while alleviating and even eliminating the imbalance due to the uneven distribution of the laundry. It is carried out by a method of reducing the rotation speed of the drum to the extent that

2. Description of the Related Art There are many well-known methods in the state of the art for solving this problem. However, although these methods are different from each other, they all have a certain degree of excessive imbalance from the viewpoint of achieving the above purpose. It is aimed at detecting that it has become, and adjusting the method of increasing the rotation speed of the drum and the maximum rotation speed of the drum itself accordingly.

In the method disclosed in JP-A-137389, the vibration is measured using various sensors from the viewpoint of detecting the unbalanced state of the laundry, but in the method described in JP-A-60-132598, the drum is used. The unbalanced state is determined based on the comparison between the actual rotation speed of the motor and the reference rotation speed curve stored in advance in any appropriate storage device.

Even when the laundry is substantially in equilibrium, in the case of a very large amount, such a phenomenon may occur, which impairs the integrity of the washing machine or causes it to malfunction. Even if the operation is not disturbed, it is highly possible that the vibration of the washing machine is transmitted to the floor where the washing machine is installed, and from the floor to the entire room or the entire building. Actually it became clear experimentally. Such a phenomenon is usually negligible in the case of traditional types of solid and extremely sturdy building structures, whereas relatively elastic rooms made of lightweight materials or In the case of buildings, it can be uncomfortable.

In the conventional washing machine, vibration is apt to be transmitted from the washing machine to the entire room or the entire building, especially during rotation and dehydration in which the drum of the washing machine rotates at a high speed, and the room or the building also starts to vibrate. However, it is easily understood that this can be a great disadvantage to users of conventional washing machines, especially when parts of the surrounding building begin to resonate, which is extremely uncomfortable.

Therefore, even if the laundry is in a well-balanced state, the problem that the vibration transmission to the floor is great when the amount of the laundry is extremely large is solved, and a simple and inexpensive improvement is made by using an easily available technique. It is desirable to be able to realize these additional functions by carrying out, and the main object of the invention is in fact to provide such a washing machine.

According to the present invention, a washing tub, a drum rotatably arranged in the washing tub and capable of holding laundry, and a variable speed selectable in advance. An unbalanced condition lower than a first predetermined unbalanced level (BC1), comprising a motor adapted to drive said drum and a mechanism adapted to detect an unbalanced condition of the laundry From the viewpoint of distributing the laundry along the inner surface of the drum, the drum rotates at a low speed while alternately reversing the direction.
A first drum rotation stage (T0 to T1) rotating at a speed (BV) below V) and an initial drum rotation stage (T1) that rotates the drum under the low speed spin dehydration (CBV) condition after the drum rotation stage. In a domestic washing machine, a rotary spin-drying speed (CMV) of medium speed is applied for a very short period of time after the laundry is in the distribution state. Instantaneous spin dewatering (T3) is performed, and after the instant spin dewatering, the rotational speed of the drum is again low so that the laundry remains attached to the inner wall of the drum. (CBV), and thereafter, the rotation speed of the drum is again set to the medium-speed rotation dehydration speed (C
MV), the speed of which is maintained for a predetermined period (T5 to T6), in particular for a domestic washing machine.

At time T0, the drum is about to finish the last wash phase BV at low speed and the direction of rotation is periodically reversed. At time T1, the low speed washing step BV is completed, the drainage pump (not shown) is energized, and the low speed spinning dewatering step is started. At the end of this stage, at time T2, the mechanism for monitoring the imbalance of the laundry in the drum is activated. If the detected unbalanced state is smaller than the predetermined value BC1, the rotary dehydration step continues after the time T2. On the contrary, if not, the rotary dehydration step returns to the time T0. The steps are started again. Low speed rotation BV, low speed rotation dehydration stage CBV, until a value less than a predetermined value BC1 is reached, or the number of repetitions of the procedure reaches a predetermined maximum number.
Then, the above procedure of checking the unbalanced state of the laundry is automatically repeated. In any case, the procedure is substantially known in the prior art and will not be described in further detail here.

The purpose of the instant spin dewatering step, which plays a major role in the present invention, is to remove a significant amount of water from the laundry, while still having the following disadvantageous condition: that is, still a substantially large amount of water during such a dewatering process. The garment under the influence of its weight due to its inclusion is partly pressed into the holes provided along the cylindrical surface of the drum to drive the moisture from the garment out of the drum. This effectively “sticks” the garment to the wall of the drum, so even if the drum speed is significantly reduced below the minimum spin dewatering speed, the garment will “unstick” even partially. It is to prevent an inconvenient state that it is difficult if not impossible to do.

The spin dewatering stage in MV is started. This step is performed over the period from time T5 to time T6. In practice, by performing the instantaneous spin dewatering immediately before the medium speed spin dewatering step CMV, the medium speed spin as would typically occur if a preliminary instantaneous spin dewatering step was not previously performed at time T3. It was empirically revealed that there is no tendency for clothes to be pressed into the holes provided on the wall surface of the drum during the dehydration stage. These phenomena consequently play a particularly advantageous role in the dehydration process, as explained in more detail below.

At the end of the medium speed spin dewatering step CMV, the rotation speed of the drum is reduced to the speed of the low speed spin dewatering step CBV, and is kept at the speed during the period from time T7 to time T8. First, the imbalance of laundry is measured and confirmed.

When it is found that the laundry imbalance exceeds a predetermined level BC2, as a practical matter, it is actually required to further speed up and safely initiate any subsequent spin dewatering stages. The total spin dewatering phase is carried out again from the beginning, ie from time T0, since it is in a state of imbalance above a certain level.

At this point, the benefits of the flash spin dehydration are fully understood. In fact, in this case, the garment is not press fit into the hole of the drum, allowing it to fall freely on the bottom of the drum, but if the garment is "sticking" to the wall of the drum, Obviously, it is impossible to drop clothes even by spinning at a very low speed. Therefore, in such a case, even if the unbalanced state is alleviated, it is necessary to accept the actual unbalanced state as it is, and at the same time, the normal operation of the washing machine and the complete structure In order to avoid the condition where significant vibration due to low-amplitude high-frequency vibration that is transmitted from the base of the washing machine to the floor and finally to the entire room is generated in the washing machine even if it does not matter as far as the property is concerned, just spin-dry it. It will be necessary to limit the speed to a speed below the maximum speed VCmax in the dehydration stage.

In conclusion, therefore, when the initial instantaneous rotary dewatering is carried out, the laundry is washed to such a level and degree that the final rotary dewatering step can be started at the highest speed possible without transmitting excessive vibration to the floor. It is possible to repeat the procedure to balance the water, but if this is not done, the problem is that the highest speed spin dehydration of the drum causes severe vibration or the slow speed spin dehydration of the drum reduces the vibration. It can be asserted that one has to accept any of the problems of reduced effectiveness.

By adding various features,
The invention can also be modified in further advantageous manner. As a practical matter, if the unbalanced state detected in the time period T7 to T8 is less than the predetermined maximum allowable level BC2 and exceeds the predetermined intermediate level BC3, it is slightly lower than the maximum spin dehydration speed VCmax, Subsequent final rotary dewatering steps can be carried out at a suitable speed value VC1 which ensures an acceptable rotary dewatering result without generating the unwanted vibrations transmitted by the washing machine.

The first imbalance measurements made in the time intervals T1 to T2 are such that even when a medium amount of laundry is being processed, the imbalance of the washing machine will occur in the later time intervals T5 to T6. This is necessary from the standpoint of avoiding excessive imbalances that could damage the washing machine during the medium speed spin dewatering phase that takes place, but is then followed by a slow speed spin dewatering phase at time intervals T7-T8. The purpose of the imbalance measurement is to bring the laundry imbalance to a low level so that the vibrations transmitted from the washing machine to the surrounding building structure during the subsequent high speed final spin dewatering stage are within predetermined limits. That will be fully understood.
