Abstract

PURPOSE:To identify a pattern to be picked up easily and correctly by shifting at least one article outward at the time of recognizing the palletized pattern to perform picking in the case of rectangular articles being palletized in close contact. CONSTITUTION:In the case of rectangular articles such as corrugated board cases being palletized in close contact, picking is performed recognizing the palletizing pattern. When a pallet P is conveyed into a specified position by a conveyor 4, the suction pad 3 of an arm 2 in a picking robot 1 is brought to suck one of the corrugated board cases W placed on the pallet. The sucked corrugated board case W1 is moved outward so as to form a gap G to the adjacent corrugated board case W. The contour of the palletizing pattern with the corrugated board case W1 shifted is thereby extracted on the basis of photographed image data, so that the pattern to be picked up is identified easily and correctly.
