Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the amt. of reaction gas generated on supplying a molten metal into an injection sleeve while maintaining lubricity not inferior to that of a conventional lubricant by adding a small amt. of a fine silicone powder to a powder mixture comprising a thermal insulating powder as the major component and a lubricating powder as the minor component. CONSTITUTION:A thermal insulating powder prevents a molten metal supplied into an injection sleeve from getting into contact with the inner surface of the sleeve, examples being Al2O3, TiO2, SiO2, talc, and spinel. A lubricating powder improves the lubrication between the inner surface of the sleeve and the outer surface of a plunger chip and is used in an amt. of 16wt.% or lower of the total amt., and a self-lubricating powder such as stearic acid or a stearate can be used as the lubricating powder. A fine silicone power supplements the lubricity of the lubricating powder, pref. comprises spherical particles with particle sizes of 0.3-20mum, and is used in an amt. of 6wt.% or lower of the total amt.

2. Description of the Related Art In this type of conventional lubricant, powder having lubricity is mixed in an amount of 16 to 20 wt% of the total amount.
When this lubricant is applied to the inner peripheral surface of the injection sleeve and molten metal is supplied into the injection sleeve, the powder having lubricity reacts with the molten metal to generate gas, and the gas is melted when the molten metal is injected. There was a problem that the cast product was adversely affected, such as being caught in the.

Further, the powder having lubricity is for improving the lubricity between the inner peripheral surface of the injection sleeve and the outer peripheral surface of the plunger tip, and the powder having self-lubricating property in the powder state, Specifically, stearic acid, stearic acid salts of stearic acid with sodium, magnesium, zinc, calcium or the like, or a mixture thereof can be used. And as for the usage ratio, the total amount is 16 wt

Further, the silicone fine powder is to supplement the lubricity of the powder having lubricity, and it is preferable that the silicone fine powder has a spherical shape and the particle diameter thereof is in the range of 0.3 to 20 μm. The ratio is set to a small amount, specifically 6 wt% or less of the total amount. Even if 6 wt% or more is added, the lubricity does not improve so much and the cost increases.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY The lubricant for the injection sleeve in the die casting according to the present invention is excellent in lubricity and has smaller specific gravity and cohesiveness than the inorganic fine powder in order to supplement the lubricity of the powder having lubricity. Silicone fine powder, which has more excellent heat resistance than organic fine powder, is used, so even if the content of the powder with lubricity is significantly reduced compared to the conventional product, lubricity is not impaired It has lubricity comparable to or superior to conventional products containing powder having lubricity.
