2. Description of the Related Art A blind rivet is a sleeve having a flange portion that bulges like a brim at one end opening of a cylindrical body, and a head having a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the body at one end of the shaft-like portion. The mandrel having the above is inserted through the shaft portion. Then, for example, when connecting two plate-shaped bodies, after inserting the flanges into the plate-shaped bodies by inserting the flanges into the through-holes formed in the plate-shaped bodies from the head side, the flanges are plate-shaped by a caulking tool. By pushing the mandrel shaft toward the front while pressing and holding it against the body, the end of the body is pushed outward by the head or crushed, and the caulking process is performed by plastic deformation of the body. Given,
When the caulking reaches the limit, the shaft portion is broken and riveting is completed.

However, such a blind rivet has the following drawbacks.
That is, the member to be connected is strongly fastened by the blind rivet, but as a mechanical defect due to the connecting means, it is unavoidable that a gap is generated, and the liquid tightness is poor. Therefore, when used in a place exposed to wind and rain, especially when used for repairing a yacht, in addition to serious problems such as water leakage and rusting, the material of the rivet and the connected member is different. Then, since the generation and progress of rust is promoted by the potential difference generated between the contact surfaces of the metals, rust is particularly likely to occur at the rivet portion, and this rust propagates to the entire connected member.

Further, since the mandrel shaft portion has a diameter which forms a small clearance so that the mandrel shaft portion can easily slide with respect to the body portion of the sleeve, the mandrel can be easily detached from the sleeve and separated. The previous management becomes complicated. Furthermore, when pulling the shaft part in the direction to pull it out from the body part,
Due to the small clearance described above, the shaft-like part may be pulled in a direction inclined with respect to the cylinder core direction of the body part. Unreliable.

In view of the above-mentioned problems, a hollow rivet in which the fastening surface of the collar portion and the entire hollow shaft portion are covered with a coating material, and a rivet in which a rib is provided on the shaft portion of a pin (mandrel) have been devised. An example of this type is, for example, Shoukaisho 61-6.
The "expandable rivet" disclosed in No. 4508 and the "blind tightening tool" disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 59-149251 are exemplified. The technique disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 61-64508 discloses that the fastening surface of the collar portion of the hollow rivet and the entire hollow shaft portion are covered with a covering material made of synthetic resin, so that the hollow rivet and the fastened member are fastened in the rivet fastened state. A cover is interposed between the hollow rivet and the member to be fastened to prevent direct metal contact from causing rust. Also,
The technique disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 59-149251 provides a press-fitting fit between a pin and a sleeve hole by providing several longitudinal ribs spaced in the peripheral direction of the pin head.

However, the above-mentioned invention has the following problems. That is, in the technique disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 61-64508, since the covering body is in close contact with and covers almost the entire pin, the deformation occurring in the covering body at the time of fastening cannot be absorbed and the covering body is damaged. There was a risk of connection, and it was not suitable for use under severe conditions such as repairing a yacht. Further, in the technique disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 59-149251, since the rib is provided behind the cutting portion in the shaft withdrawal direction, the rib does not pass through the fastening portion when the shaft is withdrawn, and the rib is guided in the shaft withdrawing direction. Could not be fulfilled reliably.

According to the present invention, a blind rivet is constructed as follows as a technical means for achieving the above-mentioned problems. That is, a sleeve in which a flange portion that bulges like a collar is integrally formed at one end of a cylindrical body portion, and the body portion is provided at one end of a shaft-shaped portion that is inserted into the body portion of the sleeve from the other end side. In a blind rivet consisting of a mandrel in which a head having a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the head is integrally formed, a cutting portion at least a part of which has a small diameter is formed in a portion of the shaft-like portion near the head.
Guide projections that are joined to the inner surface of the body are formed at least at two opposite locations that pass through the center of the shaft-like portion in the direction of pulling out the shaft with respect to the cutting portion, and provide waterproofness, elasticity, and electrical insulation. A sealing material having a shape in which a flange portion is integrally provided in a cylindrical opening with a bottom is formed by a material having the head portion and the body portion, and a gap is provided between the head portion and the body portion. The sleeve is externally fitted to the flange so as to be joined to one surface of the flange.

Before use, the mandrel is prevented from slipping out of the sleeve since the guide protrusions provided at least at two opposing positions on the shaft-like portion of the mandrel are joined to the inner surface of the body. Then, when the through-hole formed in the member to be connected is inserted from the front side at the time of connection, the sealing material is interposed between the hole wall surface of the through-hole and the body portion, and the flange portion and the connected member on the front side are connected. The collar portion of the sealing material is also interposed therebetween. Next, when the shaft-shaped portion is pulled out to the front side by the caulking tool, the end of the body portion is expanded or crushed by the head of the mandrel, and the plastically deformed portion and the flange portion of the body portion cover the end. When the connecting member is clamped, caulking is performed, and when the caulking reaches a limit, the cut portion of the shaft-like portion is broken and riveting is completed. At the time of pulling out the shaft-shaped portion, since at least two guide projections passing through the center of the shaft-shaped portion in the front of the cutting portion in the pull-out direction of the shaft slide on the inner surface of the body portion and pass through the fastening portion, Since the shaft-like portion is moved in the cylinder core direction of the body without being displaced, and the plastic deformation of the body is evenly performed around the periphery, reliable caulking can be performed. On the side opposite to the front side after the caulking process, the plastically deformed portions of the head and the body are covered with a sealing material, and between the entire portion including the plastically deformed portion of the body and the connected member. Since the sealing material is interposed in the above, reliable liquid tightness can be obtained. Moreover, since the collar portion of the sealing material is interposed between the flange portion and the connected member and the entire rivet is electrically insulated from the connected member, it is possible to reliably prevent rust. it can. Furthermore, since a gap is provided between the seal material and the head portion, the deformation that occurs in the seal material during caulking can be absorbed, and the seal material can be prevented from being damaged. It also leads to prevention. Therefore, the head does not fall off after crimping.

After completion of the riveting, the plastically deformed portions of the head portion (2b) and the body portion (1a) are covered with the sealing material (3) on the outside of the connected member (5). Since the sealing material (3) is interposed between the entire member including the plastically deformed portion of the body portion (1a) and the connected members (4) and (5), reliable airtightness and liquidtightness are ensured. Obtainable. Moreover, the flange portion (1b)
The collar portion (3b) of the seal material (3) is also interposed between the connecting member (4) and the connected member (4), and the entire rivet is electrically insulated from the connected members (4) and (5). Therefore, it is possible to reliably prevent the generation of rust due to the potential difference. Further, since a gap is provided between the seal material (3) and the head portion (2b), it is possible to absorb the deformation that occurs in the seal material during caulking, and thus to prevent the seal material from being damaged. Connect Therefore, the head does not fall off after crimping.

As described above, according to the blind rivet of the present invention, before use, the guide protrusions provided at least at two opposite positions of the shaft portion of the mandrel are joined to the inner surface of the body portion. Does not inadvertently slip out of the sleeve, and therefore the sealing material does not slip out of the sleeve either, so that each set is connected without dislodging, which greatly improves manageability. Further, when the shaft-shaped portion is pulled out to the front side by the caulking tool, the guide projections provided at least at two opposite positions passing through the center of the shaft-shaped portion forward of the cutting portion in the pull-out direction of the shaft are the inner surfaces of the body Since it is slidably contacted with and passes through the fastening portion, the shaft-like portion can be moved without being displaced in the cylinder core direction of the body portion, and the plastic deformation of the body portion is evenly generated in the periphery, so that reliable caulking can be performed. Further, since a gap is provided between the seal material and the head portion, the deformation caused in the seal material at the time of caulking can be absorbed and the damage of the seal material can be prevented.
Further, after the caulking process, the plastically deformed portions of the head and the body are covered with the sealing material, and the sealing material is interposed between the entire portion including the plastically deformed portion of the body and the connected member. As a result, reliable air tightness and liquid tightness can be obtained, and the head can be prevented from falling off.
Moreover, since the collar portion of the sealing material is interposed between the flange portion and the member to be connected and the entire rivet is electrically insulated from the member to be connected, it is possible to reliably prevent the occurrence of rust. it can. In particular, the present invention exerts a very remarkable effect when used under severe conditions such as repair of a yacht.
