Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely hold an outer conductor of a coaxial cable to prevent radio interference due to defective contact. CONSTITUTION:In a coaxial cable connector, a center conductor 8 of a coaxial cable C is retained by a center contact 4 attached to a connector main body 1, while a fastening metal fitting 22 is screwed with a rear end side of the connector main body 1 to be fastened, so as to retain an outer conductor 19 of the coaxial cable C. In this coaxial cable connector, an outer conductor connection element 12 equipped with a tapered cylindrical part 18 tapered toward a tip in the rear end side thereof is integratedly provided in the connector main body 1. A tapered inner peripheral edge 21 of a movable pressing cylinder 15 having the tapered inner peripheral edge 21 on the tip side is arranged opposite to the rear end side of the connection element 12. An outer conductor 19 of the coaxial cable C, of which an end edge part is expanded like a horn, arranged between both is fastened to the connector main body 1 by screw-engaging the fastening metal fitting 22 to be clamped.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In the above-mentioned conventional example, radio wave leakage occurs within a short period of several months or years after construction.
In some cases, a defect that causes a jump is generated, and in some cases, the above-described defect is found in a performance inspection immediately after construction. Among the causes of the defects in these conventional examples, the former has a structure in which the connector has many screwed tightening points, so that if the tightening order is wrong, the outer conductor is likely to be insufficiently clamped, so that the electrical characteristics are maintained for a long time. Of course, defects occur within a short period of time.In the latter case, if the cutting tool used to cut the outer conductor is old, bending or burrs may occur on the inner surface side of the cut outer conductor. There is no problem if the connector is attached after the bends and burrs are surely corrected and the inner diameter of the outer conductor is set within the specified dimensional tolerance.
If the cable is attached without this processing, the characteristic impedance of the cable is inconveniently generated, and a standing wave is generated, which causes leakage or diving of radio waves.

The coaxial cable C, which is projected from the fastening metal fitting 22 in which the pressing cylinder 15 is incorporated, is inserted into the connector main body 1 assembled by being screwed into the device by the male screw portion on the tip side, and the predetermined size is predetermined. The central conductor 8 cut out only is inserted into the clamp cylinder 5 through the connector 12, the intermediate frame 9 and the movable insulator 6 incorporated in the connector main body 1, and a tool (not shown) is previously prepared. And the inner insulator 2 of the outer conductor 19 of the cable C whose end is expanded in a trumpet shape by
When the tapered tapered tube portion 18 provided on one side of the connector 12 is inserted into the gap between the 0s having a triangular cross section, and then the fastening metal fitting 22 is screwed and assembled to the rear end portion of the connector body 1, The pressing edge 24 provided on the inner peripheral surface of the fitting 22 pushes the projecting edge 23 provided on the peripheral side of the movable pressing cylinder 15, whereby the tapered inner peripheral edge 2 provided at the tip of the movable pressing cylinder 15.
1 moves in the direction of the connector body 1, and the tapered cylindrical portion 18 of the regulating cylinder 12 holds the expanded end edge of the outer conductor 19 with the tapered cylindrical portion 18 of the connector 12 and, at the same time, moves forwardly as described above. The tube 15 has its end surfaces moved inwardly into the connector body 1 by moving the side pieces 11, 11 of the intermediary frame 9 arranged through the notches 13, 13 provided on the opposite circumferential sides of the connector 12. Along with this, the central piece 10 of the intermediate frame 9 moves the movable insulator 6 in the same manner, and this time the movable barrel 6 moves to clamp the clamp cylinder 5 and compress the rear end side of the center contact 4. The center conductor 8 is held between the coaxial cable C and the device, and the coaxial cable C is connected to the device.

As described above, the connector body is integrally provided with the connector body, and the movable pressing cylinder that is moved into the connector by the tightening of the tightening fitting is provided. With the tapered inner and outer edges, the outer conductor end, which is expanded into a trumpet shape, is strongly and reliably held, and the anti-pull-out strength is significantly strengthened.
Since the structure is such that the connection of these outer conductors and the conductor parts themselves are directly performed, the current flowing through the inner surface of the outer conductor is transferred to the connector body through the outer surface of the tapered cylindrical portion of the connector that surely makes surface contact with the inner peripheral surface of the outer conductor. Even if the flow loss is small due to the shortest path, and even if the cutting process of the outer conductor is insufficient, they are inevitably processed and corrected in the process of expanding the outer end part with a separate tool, and temporarily Even if a small foreign substance is present between the outer conductors and a small gap is generated to cause a current to flow on the outer surface of the outer conductor, it is grounded to the movable pressing cylinder that is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the outer conductor, so that the leakage or mixing of radio waves is completely prevented. Can be prevented.

Also, since the electrical connection, waterproofing and anti-pulling-out measures can be taken only with one screw-fastening point, the workability is improved and the external conductor is not attached due to an error in the tightening procedure. A situation of insufficient holding is unlikely to occur.
