Abstract

PURPOSE:To expand the chance of transmission reservation and to extend the function of the facsimile by making possible the transmission reservation at the time of polling reception and reverse polling reception as well. CONSTITUTION:The procedure from a calling tone CNG from the call originating side to the reception of a DIS(digital identification signal) is equal with the time of single reception but in the case of this polling reception, continuously to the reception of the DIS signal, the call originating side transmits a digital transmission command DTC to the call terminating side. This DTC signal shows the transfer of the transmission right to the party (call terminating side). Therefore, afterwards, the call terminating side becomes a transmitting person, and the processing from the DCS signal to the DCN signal is conducted completely equally with the time of single reception. In this case, since the transmitting person at the time of single reception and a receiving person are exchanged after the reception of the DCS signal, from the reception of the DCS signal to the reception of the DCN signal, the transmission reservation can be processed on the call originating side (on the reception side at such a time).

2. Description of the Related Art In a conventional facsimile, a calling party normally does not accept a transmission reservation during transmission.
This means that if a reservation is accepted during transmission, if an error occurs during the first transmission and it needs to be retransmitted, the original document currently being transmitted should be retransmitted, or the original document reserved for transmission should be retransmitted. This is because it is hard to decide whether to send it. By the way, there are three modes of reception in a facsimile. They are single reception, polling reception, and reverse polling reception. Single reception does not perform any work other than reception work during reception work (it does not issue a command to the other party, but only responds to the other party's command), so it is possible to make a transmission reservation even during reception. .

In the polling reception, the calling side requests the called side for transmission, and the calling side receives it. In this case, the calling side has not been able to make a transmission reservation in the past according to the concept of the conventional facsimile that a transmission reservation cannot be made. Reverse polling reception is to send a manuscript from the calling side to the called side and then fax the manuscript set on the called side without disconnecting the line. Therefore, in this case as well, the calling side is not able to make a transmission reservation in the past, being bound by the conventional idea that the calling side cannot make a transmission reservation. In the polling reception and the reverse polling reception as described above, the present inventor has a period in which the calling side is the receiver within the communication period, and during that period, the state is the same as that of the called side in single reception. Focusing on
On the calling side in polling reception and reverse polling reception, it was checked whether there was a period during which transmission reservation could be made. As a result, it was discovered that there is a period during which transmission reservation can be made within a predetermined period even in polling reception and reverse polling reception. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a facsimile in which transmission reservation can be performed even during polling reception and reverse polling reception.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention is directed to a facsimile having a function of polling reception and / or reverse polling reception, in which a calling side receives during polling reception or reverse polling reception. The facsimile is configured so that the transmission reservation can be made on the calling side from the time when the calling side receives the signal DCS that determines that the caller becomes the other party until the disconnection command signal DCN is received.

Function: A signal D for confirming that the calling side becomes the receiver during polling reception or reverse polling reception.
From the time the caller receives CS to the time the disconnection command signal DCN is received, the caller is the receiver, all command signals are sent from the callee, and the caller responds to the above command. Since only the response signal is sent out, the calling side has enough time to accept the transmission reservation during this period.
Therefore, transmission can be reserved on the calling side.

Embodiments Next, with reference to the attached drawings, embodiments embodying the present invention will be described to provide an understanding of the present invention. 1 is a time chart of signal transmission / reception during polling reception according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a time chart of signal transmission / reception during reverse polling reception according to another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a time chart of conventional signal transmission / reception during single reception, FIG. 4 is a block diagram showing a minimum hardware configuration that a facsimile must have in order to perform transmission reservation, and FIG. 5 shows a transmission reservation procedure at the time of reception. It is a flowchart to show. As shown in FIG. 4, the hardware structure of the facsimile according to this embodiment is mainly composed of a CPU, and the CPU has ten keys necessary for reservation of transmission.
An input device such as a function key, a document detection sensor for detecting that a document to be transmitted is set on a platen, a monitor for displaying image information including comments necessary for a reservation operation, a memory for storing reservation contents, and the like. A modem or the like connected to the communication line is connected. The single reception process of the above facsimile is performed according to the procedure shown in FIG. That is, when the called side receives the calling tone CNG from the calling side, the called side sends a digital identification signal DIS after the called terminal identification signal CED. DIS includes all the functions of the called terminal, that is, the facsimile group number, the sending / receiving function, the terminal constant, etc., and indicates that the called terminal has the CCITT standard receiving function. The calling terminal receiving the DIS indicates the function selected from the functions indicated by the DIS signal by the digital command signal DCS. This establishes the transmission on the calling side and the reception on the called side. In this way, once the sender and receiver are determined, all commands are sent from the sender. Since the receiving side only responds to the command from the transmitting side, after the DCS signal is received, until the cutting signal DCN is received, if the original is set on the receiving side, the transmission can be reserved.

In the meantime, the calling side terminal sends the training signal TCF after sending the DCS signal, with a pause period for switching to the high speed modem. After receiving this training signal TCF, the receiving side
When the adjustment of the high-speed modem is completed by the sequence, a reception preparation confirmation signal CFR is sent to the transmission side to prompt the transmission side to send a transmission message (image data). When the transmission of the transmission message from the transmission side via the high-speed modem is completed, a message end signal EOP is transmitted from the transmission side, and after the confirmation signal MCF is received from the reception side, a disconnection command DCN is transmitted from the transmission side to perform communication. Ends. Therefore, the transmission reservation during the reception is possible until the disconnection command DCN is received. However, if the disconnection command DCN is received while the reservation operation is being performed, the reservation operation is not interrupted because the reservation operation is only shifted to the normal reservation status. The above is the transmission reservation procedure at the time of single reception, which has been performed conventionally. However, in the transmission reservation at the time of polling reception and the transmission reservation at the time of reverse polling in the present invention, the calling side is the receiver. Since it is time processing, there is no difference in principle from the transmission reservation on the receiver side during the above single reception. The signal transmission / reception procedure at the time of polling reception is as shown in FIG. The procedure from the calling tone CNG to the reception of the DIS (digital identification signal) from the calling side is the same as in the single reception shown in FIG. In the case of the polling reception shown in FIG. 1, following the reception of the DIS signal, the calling side transmits a digital transmission command DTC to the called side. The DTC signal is a signal indicating that the transmission right is transferred to the other party (callee).
Therefore, after that, the called side becomes the sender, and the processing from the DCS signal to the DCN signal is performed in the same manner as in the single reception. In this case, after the DCS signal is received, the sender and the receiver are switched in the single reception. Therefore, during the period from the DCS signal reception to the DCN signal reception, the calling side (reception at this time) is received. On the person side), processing of transmission reservation can be performed.
