Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate lamination and clisassembly of optical connectors and to hold the lamination state thereof by integrally laminating plural ferrules by laminating pins and freely attachably and detachably mounting a stopper plate at the ends of these laminating pins. CONSTITUTION:This laminated connector 1 is formed by integrally laminating the plural optical connectors 2 by means of the laminating pins 3, 3 with a slight degree of freedom in the lamination direction. In such a case, the upper parts of the laminating pins 3, 3 are connected by a connecting plate 4 and the stopper plate 5 is freely attachably and detachably mounted in the mounting grooves in the lower part to prevent pull-out of the respective laminating pins 3. The integrally connected laminated optical connectors 1, 1 are mounted with a holder 10 and are pressed in a butt direction by pressing parts 11b, 11b of clips 11 elastically pressed to the rear parts of the respective ferrules 2a. The plural laminated optical connectors 2 are regulated of the deviation in the lamination direction by the stopper pieces 11c pressed to the detaining parts of the respective ferrules 2a, by which the lamination state is maintained.

2. Description of the Related Art A plurality of optical connectors are collectively integrated by using laminated pins for the purpose of simultaneously connecting a plurality of optical connectors with other optical connectors by abutting them. A ferrule stacking method and a stacking type optical connector have been proposed in which a pair of integrated stacking type optical connectors are butt-jointed and collectively connected by an elastic clip attached to the side surface of each ferrule. The stacking method and the stacking type optical connector have an advantage that a plurality of optical connectors can be stacked compactly as compared with a method of stacking a plurality of optical connectors in a housing. However, in this stacking method and the stacked optical connector, the retaining ring is used to prevent the stacked pins from coming off, and since the retaining ring is a small component due to its configuration, the attaching and detaching work is complicated when stacking the optical connectors. There was a problem that parts were easily lost.

Further, in the above-mentioned stacking method and stacking type optical connector, a clip is used to hold the stacked state of a set of stacking type optical connectors that are butted against each other and collectively connected. However, each optical connector forming the laminated optical connector has a shape close to a rectangle so that the ferrules can be easily laminated. Therefore, when a clip is attached to a set of stacked optical connectors that are connected together, the end of each optical connector may be chipped due to the elastic force acting from the clip, and the pressing force in the butt direction decreases. Alternatively, there is a problem that a plurality of laminated optical connectors are displaced in the laminating direction or the butt direction.

The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and the work of stacking and disassembling the optical connectors is easy, and a plurality of stacked optical connectors in a set of collectively connected optical connectors are not damaged. An object of the present invention is to provide a laminated optical connector that can be attached and detached without causing it, and that can hold a plurality of laminated optical connectors in a laminated state without shifting in a laminating direction or a butt direction, and a laminated state holder thereof. In the laminated optical connector, the laminated holes formed at corresponding positions on both sides of each ferrule of the plurality of optical connectors are aligned and stacked, and the laminated pin is inserted into each of the aligned laminated holes. When the stopper plates are integrally attached to the end portions, the plurality of ferrules are laminated together with a slight degree of freedom in the lamination direction. The laminated optical connectors assembled in this way are connected to each other by butting each other, and when the laminated state holders are attached from both sides,
Each pressing portion of the locking member held by the alignment member and the holding member at a predetermined arrangement interval elastically abuts on the rear portion of the ferrule via the guide portion formed on the rear portion of the ferrule, and each restricting piece engages with the ferrule. Stop. As a result, the plurality of stacked optical connectors are restricted from being displaced in the stacking direction and the butt direction, and the stacked state is maintained.

2. A plurality of ferrules are collectively laminated with a slight degree of freedom in a laminating direction by laminating pins which are inserted into laminating holes formed at corresponding positions on both sides of each ferrule of a plurality of optical connectors, and the laminating is performed. A pair of laminated optical connectors assembled by detachably attaching a retaining plate to the ends of the pins and abutting against each other and collectively connected to the rear portion of the ferrule via a guide portion formed at the rear portion of each ferrule. It has a pressing portion that elastically abuts and presses the corresponding ferrules in the butting direction, and a restricting piece that locks to each ferrule and restricts misalignment in the stacking direction, and is attached to or detached from the side portion of each ferrule. The set of stacked optical devices includes a plurality of locking members that are freely mounted, and an aligning member and a holding member that are detachably engaged with each other and hold the locking members at predetermined intervals. A laminated state connector for a laminated optical connector, which is integrally attached to a connector and holds the set of laminated optical connectors that are collectively connected in a laminated state.
