Description of the Related Art A rotary shaft of a high speed rotating machine such as a turbine, a turbine generator or a bi-electric motor is supported by a journal bearing, and a multi-arc bearing or a tilting pad bearing is adopted as the journal bearing. . These non-round bearings have high vibration damping force and high stability. Among them, the tilting pad journal bearing has extremely high stability against self-excited vibration as compared with other bearings, but it is known that the load capacity has some drawbacks. FIG. 5 shows a conventional tilting pad journal bearing (six pieces of load-on type). The reasons why the load is inferior to the cylindrical bearing are as follows. The pressure receiving surface is divided. 2. Specific pad (No.4 pad)
The load is concentrated on the point where the load is concentrated. Especially, 2 greatly restricts the allowable load. Normally, the pad (No.
1, No. 2 and No. No pressure is generated in 6) unless a preload (preset: a pad is assembled inside the bearing machining radius gap) is applied. Also, in large machines, these pads have relief grooves, so
No pressure is generated. Therefore, the lower half of the pad supports the load, but most of the load is no. 4 is concentrated on the pad No. 4 and a pressure distribution as shown in FIG. 6 is generated during operation. Therefore, the allowable load is largely restricted by the load capacity of No. 4 pad.

When assembling, the pad where the load is concentrated is offset (the pad is assembled to the outside of the bearing processing radius gap), or conversely, the front and rear pads (No. 3 and No. 5) are preset and shown in FIG.
The pressure is equalized as shown in. Further, a method of using a sensor to control so as to be even has been considered (for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 61-238867).
However, since the same offset amount (preset amount) is given in all operating ranges in the adjustment by assembly, sufficient equalization cannot be achieved at the time of speed-up or low-speed hold. On the other hand, the control method using a sensor can be adjusted in accordance with such an operating state, but it requires a control system auxiliary device and its inspection / adjustment, which is difficult in terms of cost and maintenance. Further, also in the upper half pad, similarly, it is difficult to adjust an appropriate preset amount according to the operating state.

When the load is concentrated on a specific pad and a pressure as shown in FIG. 6 is generated, the pressure inside the pocket supporting the pad rises. However, since this pocket is connected to the pocket of the pad that receives another load by the communication pipe, the support base is automatically moved up and down until the pressure is balanced. Thereby, the load applied to each pad is equalized. 2. An orifice is provided near the entrance of the pocket to provide flow resistance and prevent vibration when oil moves and the support moves up and down. 3. An appropriate amount of preload is applied to each pad in the upper half to generate pressure and suppress unstable vibration. 4. By connecting the pockets of the load side pads at both ends of the rotating shaft with the communicating pipes, the pressure is balanced and the height level of the bearings at both ends of the rotating shaft is automatically adjusted.

This will be specifically described. FIG. 1 is a structural view showing an embodiment of the present invention, in which a rotating shaft 1 is supported by six tilting pads 3 housed in a bearing pedestal 2. Here, claim 1
An embodiment corresponding to claim 2 will be described. The lower three pads are supported by a support base 4 and a pocket 5 that contains oil to support the support base and adjusts the height of the support base. The support base has a pocket inner diameter so that the pocket can be moved up and down. It is made slightly smaller, and a seal 6 is attached so that oil does not leak inside the bearing.

The adjustment valve 8 is opened so that the surface of the support base coincides with the inner peripheral surface of the bearing pedestal, and the assembly is performed while discharging oil, and then the adjustment valve is fully closed. When the amount of oil decreases due to oil leakage, the pump 9 is driven to supply a minute amount from the adjusting valve 8.
Supply is performed until the axis returns to the initial position by a sensor that monitors the axis. The load is No. When concentrated on the 4th pad, the pressure inside the pocket that supports this support rises. 3 and No. Since it is in conduction with the pocket of 5, the support base moves up and down so that these pressures are balanced. At this time, in order to prevent the liquid surface from vibrating through the communicating pipe, the orifices 7 were provided near the respective pocket inlets.

Similar to the lower half, each pad in the upper half is supported by a support base and pockets, and a pressure adjusting valve 11 is provided in each of them. When unstable vibration occurs in the pad during rotation, the pressurizing pump 12-a is driven, the valve 13-a is opened, and an appropriate amount of preload is applied to the pad by the adjusting valve of the pad in which the vibration occurs. Suppress vibration. When excessive preload is applied or rotation is stopped, the pressure reducing pump 12-b is driven, the valve 13-b is opened, and the preload is released by the adjusting valve.
