Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten a peeling time or prevent an unnecessary adhesive agent from being left behind on a coating after peeling, by a method wherein a repeeling type pressure sensitive adhesive agent layers are provided on both end parts of a widthwise direction of one side of a plastic film. CONSTITUTION:A repeeling type pressure sensitive adhesive agent layers are provided on both end parts of a widthwise direction of one side of a plastic film. A thermoplastic film is preferrable as a kind of the plastic film and especially low density polyethylene or a mixture of the low density polyethylene and polypropylene are preferrable. In the case where an article, for example, is a completely coated car, polybutyl acrylate or poly-2-ethyl hexyl acrylate are preferrable as an adhesive agent. This protective film 1 is ejected through both end part of a widthwise direction of one side of the plastic film 2 to which an adhesive tape 3 is pressure-contacted and in the adhesive tape, an adhesive agent layer 5 is provided on a base cloth 4. At the time of use, the protective film 1 is stuck so that creases are made as few as possible.

However, although the coating film temporary protective film for a finished coated vehicle proposed in the publication can solve the above-mentioned problems, it has an adhesive layer on one entire surface of the protective film. However, it still has the following problems. When the protective film was attached to the coating film, a part where the protective film and the coating film did not adhere (space between the protective film and the coating film caused by wrinkles of the protective film) was likely to occur, and the protective film was peeled off later. Sometimes, a coating (adhesive) remains on this portion of the coating film, which may significantly reduce the commercial value.

Since it takes time to develop the protective film (to pull out the protective film wound into a roll), workability is deteriorated. After the protection period has elapsed, it takes time to peel the protective film from the coating film, resulting in poor workability. When the protective film is peeled from the coating film after the protection period has passed, unnecessary adhesive remains on the entire surface of the coating film.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION The inventors of the present invention have proposed a film for temporarily protecting the surface of an article such as a coating film of a finished car or a metal plate immediately after production, which is disclosed in the above publication. We have earnestly conducted research on a protective film that can solve the above problems (1) to (3) of the film. as a result,
The present inventors have found that a protective film having a releasable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer only on both end portions in the width direction of one surface of the film, rather than the entire surface of the one surface, solves the above-mentioned problems, and has completed the present invention.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive constituting the removable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer according to the protective film of the present invention is one in which the protective film is spontaneously peeled off during the protection period of the article or the surface of the article is unfavorably damaged. However, there is no particular limitation as long as it can be easily peeled off after the protection period. Examples of the adhesive include known ones such as natural rubber, styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber, polyisobutylene, acrylic resin, polyvinyl ether, polyvinyl isobutyl ether and the like. When the article is a painted car, for example, polybutyl acrylate or poly-2-ethylhexyl acrylate is preferable as the adhesive.

Embodiments of the protective film of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings, but the present invention is not limited to these drawings. FIG. 1 shows a state in which the protective film 1 of the present invention is partially unrolled from a roll (protective film roll) in which a roll is wound around a core body 6. The protective film 1 is formed by sticking the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape 3 onto the plastic film 2 so that the plastic film 2 is projected on both ends of the one surface in the width direction. The adhesive tape 3 comprises a base cloth 4 and an adhesive layer 5 provided thereon.

As a method of using the protective film 1,
First, the protective film 1 is developed in the length direction from the protective film roll. Next, the developed protective film 1 is cut into a length sufficient to cover the surface of the article. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 5 of the cut protective film 1 is pressure-bonded to the surface of the article 11 as shown in FIG. 2, and the protective film 1 is attached to the surface of the article so that wrinkles are not formed as much as possible. When the article 11 is a painted vehicle, the vehicle with the protective film 1 attached to the bonnet or the like may be stored outdoors, so dust or the like may be generated from the gap between the cut portion of the protective film 1 and the article 11. Since the protective film 1 may be peeled off due to invasion or wind invasion, the cut portion of the adhered protective film 1
The end of the protective film 1 not having the adhesive layer 5 and the surface of the article are brought into close contact with each other by a separate adhesive tape 12 as necessary.

When the protective film 1 has a wide width, as shown in FIG. 3, the protective film 1 is obtained by sticking the adhesive tape 3 onto both ends of the plastic film 2 in the width direction so as to protrude.
By folding back the plastic film 2 portion in the width direction in a double fold shape, the width of the roll can be reduced.
Can be shorter than the actual width of. The present invention is shown in FIG.
It is also possible to directly manufacture the re-peelable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 21 on both ends of the plastic film 2 in the width direction, as shown in FIG. Corona discharge treatment may be performed on a part or the entire surface of the plastic film 2 by a known method so that the removable pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 21 may be directly adhered to the plastic film 2.

The protective film of the present invention includes, for example, both ends in the width direction of one side of a plastic film, and one end on the adhesive layer side of an adhesive tape having a separately prepared pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for removability. It can be manufactured by stacking and crimping (see FIG. 1). In this manufacturing method, in order to firmly bond the plastic film and the adhesive tape, it is preferable that the portion of the plastic film to be overlapped with the adhesive layer of the adhesive tape is subjected to corona discharge treatment by a known method in advance. In some cases (see Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 3-42066).

The plastic film relating to the protective film of the present invention is not only a transparent plastic film or a single layer film consisting only of a plastic film containing the above-mentioned additives (see, for example, FIG. 1), but also those plastic films. It may be a multilayer film composed of a combination. Examples of the multilayer film include a two-layer film composed of a titanium oxide-containing plastic film and a carbon black-containing plastic film; an aluminum powder-containing plastic film or a two-layer film composed of an aluminum-deposited plastic film and a carbon black-containing plastic film: a transparent plastic film. And a titanium oxide-containing plastic film, an aluminum powder-containing plastic film or an aluminum vapor-deposited plastic film, and a carbon black-containing plastic film. When the article is a painted car, the plastic film relating to the protective film of the present invention includes a single-layer film made of a titanium oxide-containing plastic film, a two-layer film made of a titanium oxide-containing plastic film and a carbon black-containing plastic film, and a transparent film. A three-layer film composed of a plastic film, a titanium oxide-containing plastic film, and a carbon black-containing plastic film is preferable. Such a multilayer film can be produced by a known method (for example, a coextrusion film molding method).
