The connecting portion 9a and the pad are required to be securely connected with a predetermined strength. As an example of this type of terminal with improved mounting strength, for example, the one described in Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 1-164673 is shown in FIGS.
It will be described based on. 5 is an enlarged perspective view of the terminal connecting portion, FIG. 6 is a sectional view of the connecting portion on the pad, and FIG. 7 is a sectional view of the soldered connecting portion. As shown in FIG. 5, the connecting portion 11a of the terminal 11 is formed in a wedge shape in which the surface facing the pad is narrowed. As the procedure of surface mounting, cream solder 13 is applied to the printed board 1, the connection portion 11a is placed on the pad 15, and the connector body 3 (see FIG. 4) is positioned. Next, the connector body 3 is fixed to the printed circuit board 1 using the screws 7 (see FIG. 4), and then the solder paste 13 is passed through a reflow furnace (not shown) to melt the solder paste 13 (see FIG. 7). .

According to the terminal 11 described above, the connecting portion 1
Since 1a is formed in a wedge shape, the amount of solder can be increased, and when a force in the separating direction acts on the connection portion 11a and the pad 15, the force is applied to the boundary between the solder 13 and the connection portion 11a. It was possible to receive the shearing force and the pulling force in the above, and the strength of soldering to the pad 15 could be increased as compared with the case where the connecting portion 11a was simply formed in a rectangular cross section.

However, in the conventional surface mounting connector, since the connector body 3 slightly moves when the screw 7 is tightened, the connecting portion 11a and the pad 15 are not formed.
The cream solder 13 applied to the printed circuit board 1 due to misalignment
Was sometimes broken. If the cream solder 13 is dispersed, the amount of solder in each terminal is varied during soldering, resulting in poor soldering, which causes a decrease in reliability. Further, in the terminal 11, since the connecting portion 11a is formed in a wedge shape, there is a degree of freedom with respect to displacement, but the connecting portion 11 at the time of attachment is large.
The variation of the cream solder 13 due to the relative movement of a and the cream solder 13 could not be prevented. The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a surface mounting connector capable of preventing the variation in the amount of solder by eliminating the variation in the cream solder when fixing the connector, thereby improving the reliability. The purpose is to

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION To achieve the above object, the surface mount connector according to the present invention has a structure in which cream solder is applied to a surface mount connector which is soldered to a pad on a circuit board. A bottom groove is formed on the lower surface of the connector body across the rear surface of the connector body, and one end side of the U-shaped terminal is used as a tab and the other end side is used as a connection portion to the pad, and the tab is used for the connector body. It is characterized in that it is fitted from a through hole formed in the rear surface of the rear part and the connection part is housed in the bottom groove. Further, the structure of the surface mount connector may be such that a vertical groove for connecting the through hole and the bottom groove is formed on the rear surface of the connector body, and the space between the tab of the terminal and the connecting portion is housed in this vertical groove. Good. Then, it is preferable to bend the connecting portion of the terminal so that a part of the connecting portion has a spring property so as to protrude from the bottom groove. Further, the surface mounting connector may be one in which fixing means for fixing the connector body to the circuit board is provided in the connector body.

The tab of the terminal is fitted from the rear surface of the connector body, while the connecting portion is accommodated in the bottom groove, and the terminal is positioned at a predetermined position. The cream solder is applied in the bottom groove, and when the connector body is attached, even if the connection portion and the pad move relative to each other, the cream solder does not disperse on the circuit board. In addition, in the case where the vertical groove is formed on the rear surface of the connector body, the space between the tab of the terminal and the connection portion is also accommodated in the connector body, and the terminal is more surely positioned and is free from foreign matter. It becomes difficult to contact. In addition, in the case where the connecting portion of the terminal having the spring property is projected from the bottom groove, the connecting portion is pressed against the pad on the circuit board when fixing the connector body, and the pre-fixed state before soldering is better. Will be things. Further, in the case where the connector body is provided with the fixing means, the connector body can be securely fixed to the circuit board, and the pressure contact state of the connection portion with the pad can be stably maintained.

A connecting portion 29b is formed on the other end of the terminal 29 so as to project outside the cream solder groove 27 and is bent. The connecting portion 29b has a spring property by being bent. Therefore, when the printed board 1 is brought into contact with the lower surface 21b, the connection portion 29b is pressed into the cream solder groove 27 and is pressed against the printed board 1 side by the spring force. The cream solder is applied to the cream solder groove 27 in which the connection portion 29b is accommodated. By applying the cream solder in the cream solder groove 27, the cream solder is protected from coming into contact with foreign matter until it is melted. The connector body 21 is fixed to the printed circuit board 1 by screwing the screw 7 inserted into the screw tightening portion 23 after positioning into the printed circuit board 1. At this time, even if the connector main body 21 moves, the cream solder 13 is in the groove 27 for cream solder, so that the cream solder 13 is applied on the printed circuit board 1 unlike the conventional structure in which the cream solder 13 is applied on the pad 15. It doesn't fall apart. Then, the printed circuit board 1 to which the connector main body 21 is fixed is passed through the reflow oven, so that the cream solder groove 27 is formed.
The cream solder 13 therein is melted, and the connection portion 29b and the pad 15 which are in pressure contact with each other are soldered.

Surface mount connector 3 according to the above embodiment
According to 3, the variation of the solder amount due to the variation of the cream solder which is the object of the present invention can be prevented, and the terminal 29 is accommodated in the terminal groove 25 and the cream solder groove 27. Since the terminal 29 does not project from the terminal 21, the area occupied by the connector body 21 on the printed circuit board 1 can be reduced. Further, the terminal 29 is positioned by being accommodated in the terminal groove 25 and the cream solder groove 27, and since the entire connecting portion 29b does not project, deformation does not occur due to contact with foreign matter, and handling is easy. Becomes Furthermore, in the surface-mounting connector 33 according to the above-described embodiment, since the connecting portions 29b and the pads 15 are soldered to each other on the flat surfaces, the soldering strength is remarkably higher than that of the conventional structure in which the connecting portions are wedge-shaped. Can be improved.

In the above embodiment, the terminal groove 2
5 and the cream solder groove 27 are formed together, the connector body 21 may be formed with only the cream solder groove 27. Also in this case, the positioning of the terminal 29 is performed by the cream solder groove 27. Further, in the above-described embodiment, the case where the connector main body 21 is screwed is described as an example, but the connector main body 21 projects other fixing means, for example, a locking projection or a foldable pin onto the printed circuit board 1. Alternatively, the connector body 21 may be fixed by bending the pin after inserting the connector body 21.

As described in detail above, according to the surface mounting connector of the present invention, since the cream solder is applied in the bottom groove, even if the connecting portion and the pad move relative to each other,
The cream solder does not disperse on the circuit board, and the variation in the amount of solder can be prevented. As a result, the reliability of the soldered portion can be significantly improved. Further, in the case where the vertical groove is formed on the rear surface of the connector body, the positioning is assured and the terminal does not come into contact with the foreign matter, so that the risk of deformation or short circuit can be reduced. And if you give the connection part a spring property,
The pre-fixed state before soldering becomes better, and the strength and accuracy of soldering can be improved. Further, if the connector body is provided with the fixing means, the pressure contact state of the connection portion can be stably maintained, and the soldering can be performed more reliably.
