【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 先端が閉塞された略円錐状のスクリーン
の後端に円筒状のパイプが一体的に固着されていて、内
燃機関の排気マフラーに対して、排気ガス通路の末端か
ら上流側に向けてスクリーンの先端側からマフラー内に
挿入され、後端のパイプ部分でマフラー内に片持ち状に
支持されて設置されるスパークアレスタにおいて、該ス
クリーンが、金網からなる扇形状のブランクを半径方向
二つ折りにした状態で半径方向両縁辺の重なり合うフラ
ンジ部同士をスポット溶接により接合し、この接合され
たフランジ部を略円錐筒状に拡開したスクリーン壁面に
沿うように折り曲げると共に、この折り曲げられたフラ
ンジ部を含むスクリーンの先端部を更に手前に折り返し
て閉塞することにより形成されていることを特徴とする
スパークアレスタ。
1. A cylindrical pipe is integrally fixed to a rear end of a substantially conical screen whose front end is closed, and is connected to an exhaust muffler of an internal combustion engine from an end of an exhaust gas passage to an upstream side. In a spark arrester that is inserted into the muffler from the front side of the screen and is supported in a cantilever manner in the muffler at the pipe part at the rear end, the screen radially extends a fan-shaped blank made of wire mesh. In the state of being folded in two, the overlapping flange portions of both edges in the radial direction are joined by spot welding, and the joined flange portions are bent along the screen wall surface that has expanded into a substantially conical cylinder shape, and this bent portion is also bent. A spark arrester formed by folding back a front end portion of a screen including a flange portion to a front side to close the screen.
