(Prior Art) An optical pickup reproduces information recorded on a compact disc (CD) or a laser disc (LD) and generates a signal for reproducing the information, a focus error signal and a tracking error signal. It has the function of And in recent years,
For example, as shown in the specification of Japanese Patent Application No. 1-52593 by the present applicant, an optical pickup aiming at cost reduction and size reduction is being developed. FIG. 5 shows an example of such an optical pickup, which is provided with a holder including a light source and an objective lens, a holder 1 for accommodating a light receiving element for receiving a reflected beam from a disc, and the like. A focus coil 2 and a tracking coil (not shown) are arranged on both opposing sides of the holder 1.
These focus coil 2 and tracking coil are
It is arranged in the magnetic circuit formed by the yoke 4 to which the magnet 3 is attached. The holder 1 is cantilevered by a suspension spring 5 attached to a fixed plate 6. One end of the flexible wiring board 7 is attached to the side surface of the holder 1. Then, the pattern is connected to each element such as an optical system in the holder 1. The other end of the flexible wiring board 7 is attached to the relay board 8 attached to the yoke 4. The flexible wiring board 7 is in a state of being curved near the center thereof. In the optical pickup having such a configuration, an exciting current is supplied to the focus coil 2 and the tracking coil via each suspension spring 5, so that focusing and tracking are performed. On the other hand, in the flexible wiring board 7, the holder 1
The reading signal and the like are exchanged with the light source and the light receiving element inside. (Problems to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, the surface coat of the flexible wiring board 7 of the above-mentioned conventional optical pickup is made of either a coverlay film or a resist. However, in the case of the coverlay film, it is hard to be cut and is strong, but the flexible wiring board 7 itself becomes hard, which adversely affects the vibration characteristics during focusing and tracking. On the other hand, in the case of a resist, since the flexible wiring board 7 itself becomes soft, it does not adversely affect the vibration characteristics, but it is easily cut when bent. Further, when the holder 1 moves in the focus direction particularly when focusing, a twist occurs near the center of the flexible wiring board 7. When such a twist occurs, a restoring force acts on the flexible wiring board 7 itself, so that the holder 1 is tilted clockwise. As described above, when the holder 1 is tilted in the clockwise direction, it becomes difficult to accurately focus, so that the reliability is improved despite the cost reduction and the size reduction of the optical pickup. Will interfere with The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an optical pickup which can improve reliability. (Means for Solving the Problem) In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, an optical pickup of the present invention cantileverly supports a holder sandwiched between coil substrates via a wire spring on a suspension base, and the suspension base and the holder. And a flexible wiring board interposed between the flexible wiring board and an end portion of the flexible wiring board connected to a relay board, wherein the flexible wiring board is provided with a surface perpendicular to the tracking direction and the focus direction. A coverlay made of resin is coated on the bent portions of the surfaces which are substantially perpendicular to each other, and a resist film is coated on the remaining surfaces. (Operation) In the optical pickup of the present invention, for example, both ends of the flexible wiring board are planes perpendicular to the focus direction, the central portion thereof is a plane perpendicular to the tracking direction, and the planes are substantially perpendicular to each other. The bent portion was coated with a resin coverlay, and the remaining surface was coated with a resist film. As a result, the bent portion is hard to be cut by the cover lay and is durable.
On the other hand, the remaining surface, which mainly vibrates, is unlikely to be adversely affected by the vibration due to the resist film, so that it does not affect the focus and tracking servo operations. (Examples) Hereinafter, details of examples of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 and 2 show an embodiment of the optical pickup of the present invention. As shown in these drawings, the optical pickup is provided with a yoke base 10 having a mounting piece 10b in which a screw insertion hole 10a is formed. Further, the yoke base 10 is formed with a screw insertion hole 10c. Further, the yoke base 10 is provided with yoke portions 11 and 11 that are arranged opposite to each other, and a magnet 12 is attached to each yoke portion 11. The suspension base 13 is arranged on the upper surface of the yoke base 10. Here, the attachment of the suspension base 13 to the yoke base 10 is
This is performed by screwing the ends of the screws 13b inserted into the screw insertion holes 13a of the suspension base 13 into the screw insertion holes 10c of the yoke base 10. A holder 16 sandwiched between coil substrates 15a and 15b is supported on the suspension base 13 via metal wire springs 14, 14, ... Cantilevered. Inside the holder 16, a light emitting portion 16b, an objective lens 16d, and a light receiving portion 16e, which will be described later,
In addition, each coil substrate 15a, 15b
Exciting coils 15x and 15y to be described later are arranged in a flat shape. Further, a flexible wiring board 17 is interposed between the suspension base 13 and the holder 16, and its end portion is connected to the relay board 18. The relay board 18 is provided with a mounting piece 18b having a screw insertion hole 18a. Here, the relay board 18 is attached to the yoke base 10 by screwing an end portion of a screw (not shown) inserted into the screw insertion hole 10a of the attachment piece 10b into the screw insertion hole 18a of the attachment piece 18b. Done. An exciting current is supplied to the coil substrates 15a and 15b via the wire springs 14. Further, read signals from the holder 16 and the like are input and output via the flexible wiring board 17. Here, the suspension base 13 is
It is made of resin. Suspension base 1
A copper alloy terminal 13e is press-fitted or insert-molded inside 3, and one end thereof is connected to each wire spring 14 and the other end is connected to the terminal portion 18e of the relay board 18. FIG. 3 shows the holder 16 described above. Inside the body 16a, a light emitting portion 16b that emits laser light, a mirror 16c that reflects the laser light to the disk D side, and the reflected light is collected on the disk D. An objective lens 16d for emitting light and a light receiving portion 16e for receiving the reflected light from the disc D are housed. Then, the laser light from the light emitting unit 16b is reflected by the surface of the mirror 16c and then focused on the disk D by the objective lens 16d. The reflected light from the disc D passes through the objective lens 16d, is then reflected by the inside of the mirror 16c, and is guided to the light receiving unit 16e. FIG. 4 shows the flexible wiring board 17 described above. As shown in the figure, the flexible wiring board 17 has both end portions as surfaces 17g perpendicular to the focus direction and a central portion as a surface 17h perpendicular to the tracking direction. A cover lay 17e made of a polyimide resin is coated on the bent portions of the surfaces 17g and 17h, and a resist film 17f is coated on the remaining surfaces. As a result, the bent portion is hard to be cut by the cover lay 17e and is strong. On the other hand, the remaining surface, which mainly vibrates, is unlikely to be adversely affected by the vibration due to the resist film 17f, so that it does not affect each servo operation of focus and tracking.
Further, the flexible effective length in the focus direction is substantially equal to the suspension effective length, and the inclination of the holder 16 is prevented even if the holder 16 is displaced in the focus direction. Further, in the tracking direction, the movable range is about ⅓ to ⅕ of that in the focusing direction, so that even if the effective length is short, it is not significantly affected. Next, the operation of the pickup having the above configuration will be described. First, after the pickup moves in the radial direction of the disk D by a drive mechanism (not shown), the information on the recording surface is read. At this time, the laser light from the light emitting unit 16b is reflected by the surface of the mirror 16c and is focused on the disk D by the objective lens 16d. The reflected light from the disc D passes through the objective lens 16d, is then reflected by the inside of the mirror 16c, and is guided to the light receiving unit 16e. Then, the light receiving unit 16
Information reproduction and pickup focusing and tracking are performed based on the reflected light from the disk D guided to e. At this time, since the remaining vibrating surface of the flexible wiring board 17 is coated with the resist film 17f, it is less likely to be adversely affected by the vibration, so that it does not affect each servo operation of focus and tracking. . Further, when the pickup is focused, the flexible effective length in the focus direction becomes substantially equal to the suspension effective length, and the inclination of the holder 16 is prevented even if the holder 16 is displaced in the focus direction. Further, in the tracking direction, the movable range is about ⅓ to ⅕ of that in the focusing direction, so that even if the effective length is short, it is not significantly affected. As described above, in this embodiment, both end portions of the flexible wiring board are surfaces perpendicular to the focus direction, and the central portion thereof is a surface perpendicular to the tracking direction. A coverlay made of a polyimide resin was coated on the bent portions of the surfaces which were substantially perpendicular to each other, and a resist film was coated on the remaining surfaces. As a result, the bent portion is hard to be cut by the cover lay e and is durable. On the other hand, the remaining surface, which mainly vibrates, is unlikely to be adversely affected by the vibration due to the resist film, so that it does not affect the focus and tracking servo operations. Further, in this embodiment, both ends of the flexible substrate are surfaces perpendicular to the focus direction,
The central part is made a plane perpendicular to the tracking direction, and the flexible effective length in the focus direction is made almost equal to the suspension effective length. Therefore,
Even if the holder is displaced in the focus direction, the inclination of the holder is prevented. Further, in the tracking direction, the movable range is about ⅓ to ⅕ of that in the focusing direction, so that even if the effective length is short, it is not significantly affected. Furthermore,
In this embodiment, the suspension base is made of resin, and a terminal made of a copper alloy is press-fitted or insert-molded in the suspension base, one end of which is connected to each wire spring and the other end is connected to the terminal portion of the relay board. As a result, the number of parts is significantly reduced, and the assembly work is also significantly reduced. (Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the optical pickup of the present invention, for example, both end portions of the flexible wiring board are planes perpendicular to the focus direction, and the central portion thereof is a plane perpendicular to the tracking direction. A cover lay made of resin was coated on the bent portions of the surfaces that were substantially perpendicular to each other, and a resist film was coated on the remaining surfaces. As a result, the bent portion is hard to be cut by the cover lay and is durable. On the other hand, the remaining surface, which mainly vibrates, is unlikely to be adversely affected by the vibration due to the resist film, so that it does not affect the focus and tracking servo operations. Therefore, the adverse effects of the flexible wiring board in the focus direction and the tracking direction are avoided, and the reliability can be improved.
