(Prior art) In order not to increase the propulsion resistance of the ship, to prevent corrosion of the ship bottom in steel ships and to prevent the adhesion of organisms, and in wooden ships to prevent the adhesion of organisms and the harm of bark beetles and beetles, the ship bottom Paint is used. As described above, various measures are taken because the objects used in water reduce the performance of living things that adhere to them and increase the propulsion resistance of the ship. For example, in the case of a steel ship, the bottom of the ship is first coated with an anticorrosive paint, and then an antifouling paint is applied on it to prevent biological adhesion. Organisms that attach to the bottom of the ship and become a problem are barnacles, cell bras, oysters, squids, bryozoans, squirts, etc.
A water-resistant spar varnish or a vinyl chloride / vinyl acetate copolymer paint to which an organic or inorganic compound such as mercury, copper or tin or a bactericide such as DDT is added is used. However, all of these added fungicides are highly toxic and therefore difficult to handle, and when dispersed in water, they do not decompose easily and do not change into harmless substances, so they accumulate in water and are not harmed to the environment or living organisms. There is a built-in risk of unexpected adverse effects. Therefore, development of a biofouling-preventing substance that is harmless to humans and animals and that can be easily handled is desired to prevent biofouling of objects used in water.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The present invention prevents the adhesion of living things to an object by applying or containing it on an object used in water, and does not reduce the performance of the object. It is an object of the present invention to provide a biofouling-preventing substance and a composition thereof which are not toxic and thus do not pose a risk like the conventionally used fungicides.

(Means and actions for solving the problem) The problem of shells sticking to the inner wall of steel pipes used in the sea, causing the pipes to become stuck, was examined. It was confirmed that by incorporating the powder or its organic solvent extract into a substance used in water, no organisms adhere to the substance and its performance is not deteriorated even when used in water for a long time. The present invention proposes to apply or contain spicy powder or its organic solvent extract, or capsaicin as an anti-biofouling substance in order to prevent the organism from attaching to an object used in water and decreasing its function. To do. Hot pepper is used as a spice for cooking, or an organic solvent extract thereof is hot pepper tincture, which has been conventionally used for local stimulation, skin vasodilation, and other medical treatments.
It is recognized that its effect is due to capsaicin.
However, it was not previously known to prevent the attachment of organisms when these materials were used in water.

If the amount of spicy powder or its organic solvent extract added for the purpose of preventing biological adhesion is too small, the effect is weak, and the larger the amount, the stronger the effect and the longer the effect, but the physical properties of the object used are impaired. Since it is necessary not to meet, the addition amount must be appropriately selected according to the purpose of the object used,
In general, the addition amount of about 1 to 20% can sufficiently prevent the attachment of organisms for a long period of time, and the addition amount of this amount does not significantly affect the physical properties of the object. The organic solvent for the pepper powder extract used in the present invention includes alcohol, acetone, benzene, and other commonly used extraction solvents, and the alcohol extract generally used as pepper tincture. Convenient to use. As much as possible finely pulverized dry spicy powder or a specified amount of its organic solvent extract is uniformly dispersed in spar varnish, vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer, other paints, or applied to the surface of the object to be used in water, An object obtained by uniformly blending with powders of resin, cement, etc., and processing and molding by a conventional method does not deteriorate its function even when used in water because organisms adhere to it. Pepper powder or its organic solvent extract is different from the metal compounds conventionally used for this purpose, it is easy to mix it uniformly in paints or resins, and it is harmless to the human body, so there is no problem in handling. Does not occur. Create a urethane pellet containing spiced and powdered powder, and mold it into a tube using a standard method.
As a result of investigating the behavior of the hot pepper mixed with water for a month with capsaicin as a standard, it was confirmed that the hot pepper component was leached in a trace amount of water. It is presumed from this that the spicy powder has a biofouling-preventing action of leaching the spicy component from the substance containing the substance to the surface of a trace amount of substance, and the leachate prevents the fouling of organisms. Capsaicin contains about 0.2-0.3% in pepper, and it is clear that it is a phenolic substance and has a neurotoxic effect. Therefore, pepper powder has at least an anti-biofouling effect. It is thought that a part of it may be due to capsaicin, but it is unclear exactly by what mechanism it is effective.

Urethane tube (A) with hot pepper and urethane tube (B) without hot pepper used in Reference Example and Example 2
Was attached to the beaker wall (total surface area of the urethane tube was 1200 cm 2 ), water 3 was added, and the mixture was allowed to stand at room temperature for 1 month while stirring with a magnetic stirrer. One month later, 500m of the aqueous solution was sampled and concentrated 50 times to obtain 0.1N.
NaOH 5m, 3% molybdic acid solution was added, color was developed by the capsaicin quantification method, and the absorbance at 730 mμ was measured to obtain an aqueous solution absorbance of A of 0.49 B 〃 〃 0.09. From the calibration curve of standard capsaicin, the A solution is 21

The result is that a small amount of capsaicin (spicy pepper ingredient) is released into the water from the spicy-containing urethane tube. That is, it indicates that the hot pepper component uniformly mixed in the composition exudes from the inside of the composition to the surface.
