Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an electrophotographic device capable of holding an always stable printing quality by eliminating improper transcription caused by a locally irregular part of printing paper. CONSTITUTION:A paper press contact means 8 for flattening printing paper surface is provided in the upstream in a paper conveying direction relating to a transfer device 2, so as to feed printing paper 4 to a transfer position after restoring the printing paper surface flattened in a step before the transfer position, and by eliminating dispersion of a transfer distance between surfaces of a sensitized drum 1 and the printing paper 4, an always stable printing quality without generating improper transcription is maintained.

2. Description of the Related Art An electrophotographic apparatus that handles a long continuous printing paper that is alternately folded along perforations provided at predetermined intervals has been known in the past. In the electrophotographic apparatus used, the printing paper is formed by eliminating the local unevenness such as wrinkles on the printing paper surface due to the folding tendency generated near the perforations (folding portion) and the environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) of the paper installation place. After repairing the surface, no consideration was given to feeding the printing paper to the photosensitive drum side (transfer position).

Therefore, when the printing paper is fed to the transfer position with unevenness, the transfer distance between the photosensitive drum surface and the printing paper surface is flat or uneven. In contrast, the unevenness causes a decrease in transfer efficiency, which causes a decrease in print quality such as a missing print image.

According to the electrophotographic apparatus having the sheet straightening mechanism constructed as described above, the printing sheet 4 is pressed against the press roller 8
Local irregularities such as ironing and paper wrinkles between a and 8b are removed before the transfer position to restore the surface of the printing paper 4 to a flat surface, and then the printing paper 4 is fed to the transfer position. There is no variation in the transfer distance between the surfaces of the paper 4.

At least one of the pressure contact rollers may be made of an elastic body. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, if the pressure contact roller 81a made of an elastic body is formed in a crown shape in the axial direction, Due to the shape and elastic deformation of the pressure roller 81a, a force to stretch the printing paper 4 in the paper width direction acts, and a flatter and smoother paper surface is obtained.

As a method of providing the pressure contact roller, FIG.
Two rollers 8 forming a pressure roller pair as shown in FIG.
The surface of the printing paper may be fed to the nip portion of the pressure contact roller pair at a right angle to the line A connecting the axes of a and 8b, but as shown in FIG. On the other hand, if the printing paper surface is made to form an acute angle θ and is fed into the nip portion of the pressure contact roller pair, the frictional force on the printing paper 4 increases and local unevenness such as wrinkles 4a of the printing paper 4 is further increased. It can be removed efficiently.

As described above, according to the present invention, the toner image formed on the surface of the photoconductor is caused to travel between the photoconductor and the transfer device by the transfer device provided so as to face the surface of the photoconductor. In an electrophotographic apparatus for electrostatically adhering to a printing paper, a paper pressure contact means for flattening the printing paper surface is provided on the upstream side of the transfer device in the paper conveyance direction, and a local portion generated on the printing paper surface in the preceding stage of the transfer position. Since the printing paper is fed to the transfer position after the printing paper surface has been restored to a flat surface by eliminating the irregularities, the transfer distance between the photosensitive drum surface and the printing paper surface does not vary, and there is no transfer failure. It is possible to provide an electrophotographic apparatus capable of maintaining stable print quality.
