It contains a fundamental wave component with 7 times the amplitude, and by separating and using only the fundamental wave component with a bandpass filter, a sine wave with an amplitude of 1.5 times or more the power supply voltage is used, so a relatively low power supply Achieves voltage operation.

An active circuit rectangular wave generator 1 is disposed inside the detection pen 12 to generate a continuous rectangular wave voltage. The output of the rectangular wave generator 1 is applied to the tip conductor 3 of the detection pen 12. When it is near the board surface of No. 1, it is capacitively coupled with the electrode wire 4 of the tablet 11 with a small capacitance. In addition, the detection pen 12
Is a pseudo signal return due to the capacitance of the tablet housing ground through the human body and the effect of electromagnetic wave radiation impedance to the space.
It is shown as p. Therefore, the rectangular wave signal of the tip conductor 3 of the detection pen 12 is transmitted to each electrode wire 4 of the tablet 11 at a level according to the magnitude of the coupling capacitance. The analog multiplexers 5 and 6 sequentially switch the electrode lines 4 and transmit the input signals to the electrode lines 4 to the band pass filter 7. The band pass filter 7 selects only the fundamental wave component from the input rectangular wave signal and applies it to the detection and control section 8.

It is considered that the signal paths from the rectangular wave generator 1 in the inside 2 to the band pass filter 7 are all linear. Therefore, it may be considered that the rectangular wave signal is decomposed into each frequency obtained by Fourier series expansion and is considered as the response of the circuit to each frequency. Assuming that the amplitude of the continuous rectangular wave is 1, the Fourier series expansion of this rectangular wave, which is another expression, is (π / 2) sinω1t + a2sinω2t + a3sinω

This relationship is shown in FIG. 2, and the rectangular wave 9 has an amplitude of approximately the power supply voltage level, and the fundamental wave component 10 has the phase shown in FIG. 2 and the peak level is about 1.57 times that of the rectangular wave. A signal generator without a special booster circuit cannot generate a peak voltage higher than the power supply voltage, but in this method, a fundamental wave component having a peak level of 1.5 times the power supply voltage or more is used. Returning to the circuit of FIG. 1, since the analog multiplexers 5 and 6 are connected to one electrode line 4 for a sufficiently long time, the waveform input to the bandpass filter 7 can be regarded as a substantially continuous wave.
The bandpass filter 7 frequency-decomposes the input waveform, passes only the fundamental wave component, and blocks all other components. Since the signal path up to this point is a linear circuit, instead of the rectangular wave generator 1 in the detection pen 12, the detection pen 12
It is equivalent to a sine wave generator having a peak level of 1.5 times the power supply voltage or more. The detection and control unit 8 calculates and outputs precise pen position coordinates from the signal level from each electrode wire 4.

FIG. 3 is an overall configuration diagram of the apparatus of the second embodiment of the present invention. The rectangular wave generator 22 serves as a voltage driving unit of this device, and sequentially drives each electrode line 21 of the tablet 11 through the resistor Rs 23 and the analog multiplexer 24. The circuit inside the detection pen 30 is composed of a parallel resonance circuit formed by passive elements of the coil 25 and the capacitor 26. The tip conductor 27 of the detection pen 30 is connected to one end of the parallel resonance circuit of the resonance coil 25 and the resonance capacitor 27. Further, the housing of the detection pen 30 is a pseudo signal return due to the capacitance of the housing 11 through the human body and the housing ground 31 of the tablet 11, and further due to the effect of electromagnetic wave radiation impedance to the space, and is shown as Zp in FIG. In this state, the impedance of the signal voltage seen from the drive side to the load side changes depending on the frequency, and the current of the resistor Rs23 also changes accordingly, resulting in a change in the voltage level at the connection point between the resistor Rs23 and the analog multiplexer 24. appear. The state of the load can be known by detecting the voltage level at this connection point, but all signal paths from the rectangular wave generator 22 to the resonance circuit in the detection pen 30 can be determined in the same way as in the first embodiment. Since it can be regarded as a linear circuit, only the fundamental wave component is selected by the bandpass filter 28 immediately before the signal detection unit, and all harmonic components can be ignored. The signal source is a frequency swept rectangular wave, but since it has a sufficiently slow sweep rate, it can be treated as a substantially continuous rectangular wave. By sweeping the signal frequency in the configuration of FIG. 3, the resonance characteristic itself of the resonance circuit in the detection pen 30 can be seen as a signal level change from the output end of the resistor Rs23, but the characteristic is as small as a few picofarads or less. Because of capacitive coupling, as shown in FIG. 4, the dip point A and the peak point B continuously appear in the vicinity of the resonance point of only the circuit in the detection pen 30.

Then, the pen contact coordinates are calculated from the level difference between points A and B for each electrode wire 21. In this embodiment as well, as in the above-described embodiments, the fundamental wave component having a peak value of 1.5 times or more the power supply voltage level is used, so the power supply voltage may be relatively low.

A detection pen having a parallel resonant circuit, one end of which is capacitively coupled with the electrode wire and one end of which is connected to the inner conductor and the other end of which is connected, and a frequency sweeping rectangular wave voltage applied to the electrode wire. A level detection circuit including a bandpass filter connected to the signal line, and the fundamental wave component level detection circuit which regards the resonant circuit of the tablet and the detection pen as the load of the frequency sweep rectangular wave voltage drive unit, At the frequency near the resonance frequency of the parallel resonance circuit arranged in the detection pen, it is detected and determined that the dip point and the peak point of the level of the detected signal exist continuously, and the detection pen is contacted by the determination. A coordinate detection device comprising: a detection and control unit that specifies an electrode line that exists and outputs a contact position of a detection pen with a tablet.
