Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily prevent the generation of an electric noise in a thin film color EL panel using an electrodeposition type color filter. CONSTITUTION:The electrodepositing transparent electrode of an electrodeposition type color filter is used as an earth potential. Specifically, after a color filter 3 is electrodeposited, the electrodepositing transparent electrode 9 is electrically short-circuited by a method such as printing a conductive paste 10 on the electrodepositing transparent electrode 9 or evaporating 8 conductor such as metal thereon. An exclusive connecting electrode 11 is formed on a thin film EL panel 1 side. When the color filter 3 is stuck to the thin film EL panel 1, the connecting electrode 11 and the conductive paste 10 which short-circuited the electrodepositing transparent electrode 9 are electrically connected to each other by the use of a new conductive paste 12. Finally, a lead wire 14 is connected to the connecting electrode 11, and the lead wire 14 is connected to the ground of a driving circuit.

2. Description of the Related Art The driving voltage of a thin film EL panel is relatively high. Therefore, the electrodes of the thin film EL panel and the flexible printed wiring board on which the driving IC is mounted serve as antennas, and the electrical noise generated from the power supply circuit and the driving IC affects other electronic devices in the vicinity. May be given. Therefore, as a structure for preventing the generation of the electrical noise, the transparent conductive film 5 is formed on the surface of the glass substrate 6 on which the thin film EL element 7 is formed, as shown in FIG. It has been proposed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63-116389 to make a ground potential. In FIG. 5, 15 is a drive circuit and 16 is an outer casing.

However, in the method according to the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-116389, it is necessary to form thin films on both surfaces of the glass substrate, and the manufacturing process becomes very complicated. Further, since there is the transparent conductive film 5 on the light extraction side indicated by the arrow in FIG. 5, the light reflected from the surface of the transparent conductive film 5 impairs the good visibility which is a characteristic of the thin film EL panel. I will end up. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, in a thin film color EL panel having a structure in which a thin film EL element 7 and a color filter 3 are bonded together, light is extracted from the color filter 3 side as indicated by an arrow in the figure. Therefore, in the structure having the transparent conductive film on the light extraction side, the structure shown in FIG.
Further, as shown in FIG. 8 which is an enlarged view of the Q portion of FIG. 7, the driving IC 1 mounted on the flexible printed wiring board 17 is mounted.
Although the electrical noise from 8 can be prevented, the electrical noise from the panel electrode, that is, the lower electrode 19, the extraction electrode 20, the transparent electrode 21, and the auxiliary electrode 22 cannot be prevented. Therefore, it is not very effective in preventing electrical noise. 6 to 8, 2 is an adhesive, 4 is an insulating fluid such as silicon oil, 6 is a glass substrate, 8 is sealing glass, 9 is a transparent electrode for electrodeposition, 23 and 24 are insulating layers, 25

In the electrodeposition type color filter, after a transparent conductive film is formed, a dye, a pigment or the like is electrodeposited on a portion where the transparent conductive film is energized. Pattern the transparent conductive film,
There are a method of electrodeposition according to the pattern, a method of patterning a resist on a transparent conductive film, and a method of electrodepositing on a portion without the resist. In the electrodeposition filter by these methods, the transparent conductive film exists under the filter. Therefore, attaching the filter means attaching a conductor to almost the entire surface of the thin film EL panel, and by setting this to the ground potential, an electrical noise prevention effect can be obtained. By using this method, electrical noise can be easily and reliably prevented without providing a new conductor.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of a noise prevention structure for a thin film EL panel according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing the basic concept of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is P of FIG.
In an enlarged view of the part, an electrodeposition type color filter 3 is attached to a thin film EL panel 1 by using an adhesive material 2,
An insulating fluid 4 such as silicone oil is filled between the panel 1 and the color filter 3. A transparent conductive film 5 is provided below the color filter 3, and the transparent conductive film 5 is at ground potential. In addition, 6 is a glass substrate, 7 is a thin film EL element formed on the glass substrate 6,
Reference numeral 8 is a sealing glass. 3 and 4 show examples of connecting lead wires when the transparent conductive film 5 is set to the ground potential. FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line AA of FIG. A case where a color filter is used in which a transparent conductive film is patterned and then a filter is electrodeposited according to the pattern will be described with reference to these drawings. After the color filter 3 is electrodeposited, a conductive paste 10 is printed on the transparent electrode 9 used for electrodeposition, or a conductor such as a metal is vapor-deposited to electrically short-circuit the electrode. In addition, a dedicated connection electrode 11 is formed on the thin film EL panel 1 side. Then, when the color filter 3 and the thin-film EL panel 1 are bonded together, a new conductive paste 12 is used to electrically connect the connection electrode 11 and the conductive paste 10 in which the electrodeposition transparent electrode 9 is short-circuited. To connect. At this time, an overcoat material such as polyimide is applied so that the panel electrode 13 does not come in contact with the electrodepositing transparent electrode 9 and the conductive paste 10 that short-circuits the electrode. Finally, the lead wire 14 is connected to the connection electrode 11, and the lead wire 14 is connected to the ground of the drive circuit to complete the process. When the color filter 3 has a black stripe, it is more effective if the black stripe has conductivity.

When the transparent conductive film is not patterned, it is not necessary to short-circuit the electrodepositing transparent electrode. Therefore, the connection electrode on the thin film EL panel side and the transparent electrode on the color filter side may be electrically connected by a conductive paste or the like.
Of course, also in this case, it is necessary to apply an overcoat material or insulate using an insulating adhesive material or a spacer so that the panel electrode and the transparent electrode of the color filter do not come into contact with each other.

As described above, according to the present invention, in the thin film color EL panel in which the light emitting layer having a relatively wide light emitting region and the electrodeposition type color filter are combined, the electrodeposition type color filter is connected to the ground potential. Since it has been decided to ground it, it is not necessary to newly form a conductive film to prevent electrical noise, and the production process can be simplified. Therefore, the electrical noise prevention structure can be formed more easily than before, and since the transparent conductive film is not provided on the light extraction side of the display, good visibility is not impaired.
