Abstract

PURPOSE:To inform a receiver side of battery's life expiration of a reception remote control transmitter by making transmitting intervals of coordinate information different from that of a normal state by a control means when a voltage monitoring means detects a voltage drop down to a fixed voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a voltage drops due to service life expiration of a battery 1 while data is being transmitted, a power source monitoring part 5 detects it and a micro computer 2 widens the intervals between data by way of a timer routine. Getting in behind a transmission data, it is added to a trailer F and an interval F' which is twice or more as wide as F is obtained. Then, a light emitting part 4 emits light according to the signal from the micro computer 2. The receiving part of a VTR displays the information indicating that a battery requires replacement on the television screen in response to that.

For example, a remote control transmitter that can be operated like a mouse used in a personal computer can be considered. The operating unit of the transmitter uses a touch panel or the like, and when tracing with a finger, the cursor on the receiving side moves accordingly, and when the selection is made, it is determined by pushing in at the position of the stopped finger.

According to the present invention, when an operation or function menu is displayed on the screen of a receiver and a specific function is selected by a cursor to be executed, the position information such as coordinates of the function is transmitted from the transmitting side. In a remote control transmitter used for a transmission / reception system that can freely configure functions by transmitting only the above and changing the function menu on the receiver side,
A voltage monitoring means for monitoring the voltage of the battery on the transmission side, a control means for inputting the output of the voltage monitoring means, and an operating means for generating coordinates are provided, and the voltage monitoring means has a constant voltage and a voltage drop. Is detected, the control means makes the coordinate information transmission interval different from the normal interval to inform the receiver side of the battery life.
