The inventor of the present invention has a track record of conducting many years of research on wastewater treatment, conservation and improvement of natural environment including water quality environment, beautification, etc., and putting various techniques into practice. After further research and development for such a long-term purification of the natural environment, the above-mentioned water quality environment, especially the inner part of the port, the area around artificial islands, the shores of lakes and ponds, the coast,
When charcoal was placed in combination with shells and other solid materials having alkalinity-releasing ability at locations where water such as dams tended to stagnant and pollution was likely to occur, the water passing therethrough could release alkalinity-releasing ability such as shells. It was found that useful microorganisms and small animals having an environmental purifying effect on the surface of the solid material and charcoal, which are purified by contacting with the solid material and charcoal, have been promoted to improve the water quality environment. .. In addition, it was found that the water purification action was further promoted by the combined use of charcoal and continued for a long period of time as compared with the case where the solid material having an alkali content releasing ability was used alone.

The white charcoal is usually obtained by gradually carbonizing the carbonaceous material in the charcoal kiln at a relatively low temperature, and finally refining (nerasi) at a high temperature of 800 to 1100 ° C. to obtain an almost incandescent kiln. It is produced by removing it from the soil, covering it with charcoal, and then rapidly cooling it. Then, by conducting such a neglect at an extremely high temperature, the carbonaceous material becomes hard and the electrical conductivity becomes high. Moreover, it is said that white charcoal has electromagnetic characteristics in combination with such electric conductivity. Therefore, when the white charcoal is placed in a water environment where it should be purified, it is unlikely to collapse or dissipate due to water flow or other causes, and the ability to adsorb and purify pollutants in water,
It has excellent habitat and growth capacity for useful microorganisms, and can maintain a high water purification function for a long period of time. Among white coal, Bincho charcoal produced with Ubamegashi as a raw material and having an extremely high carbon content has extremely high carbon quality and large specific gravity, and since it has high electrical conductivity, it is used in the environmental purification material of the present invention. Especially suitable for. The size of charcoal is not particularly limited, but it is preferable to use charcoal in a size that is not lost due to dissipation or runoff according to the water quality environment to be purified.

The shell and other solid materials having alkalinity-releasing ability used in the present invention have a small particle size after being used for a predetermined period because the alkalinity gradually dissolves into water. It is lost in water due to dissipation, runoff, disappearance, etc. In that case, it is sufficient to replenish and use a new one, whereby the water environment can be purified almost constantly. Moreover, the environmental purification material of the present invention is extremely effective in that alkaline substances such as shells, slags, and coal ash, which are difficult to handle as wastes, can be constantly and effectively reused. On the other hand, charcoal is less likely to be lost in water as compared with solid materials such as shells having an alkali-releasing ability, and can be used for a longer period of time while maintaining its water purification function.
