Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the precision of a head transfer and support by a simple constitution by forming a guide groove on the both faces of a head and the face of a head supporting base facing it, and providing a linear bearing constituted of a rolling member in the groove. CONSTITUTION:Guide grooves 2a are provided at the both faces of a head 1 in the longitudinal direction holding the center of gravity of the head 1 between them in a transferring direction. And also, a guide 1a is formed at the inside face of a hole 14 of a head supporting base 2 facing the groove 2a. Two square paths are formed in the cross-section of the grooves 1a and 2a and arranged in a balanced state on the both sides of the head 1 at an equal distance from the center of gravity of the head 1. Then, rolling member 3 such as plural balls or rollers are inserted into the path freely rotatably, and held and guided by a retainer. Thus, the head can be smoothly moved relatively to the supporting base by providing the rolling member between the opposed guide grooves.

部材3が回転自在に挿入されている。なお、複数個のこ
ろがり部材3はリテーナ9により保持され且つ案内され

構成したので、構造簡単で精度の高いヘッド移送支持装

・薄型のヘッド移送支持装置が得られる。 (3) ヘッドを支持するリニアベアリングがヘッドの
重心点から両側に等距離に平衡状態に配置されているの
で、バランスが良くなり、共振が発生しにくくなり、ヘ
ッドの高速移送時の安定性が向上し、良好な記録情報の
精度が得られる。

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 光を収束させるための対物レンズと、該
対物レンズをディスクに追従させるためのアクチュエー
タと、該対物レンズをディスク上の所望位置に移動させ
るための電磁コイルからなるヘッド及び、情報検出を行
う光学系と前記ヘッドを移動させるための磁気回路から
なるヘッド支持ベースで構成される光ディスク装置にお
いて、前記ヘッドの重心点を挟む該ヘッドの両側面と該
両側面に向き合うヘッド支持ベースの面にそれぞれ形成
したヘッド移送方向のガイド溝と、これらのガイド溝の
間を転動するころがり部材とを具備することを特徴とす
るヘッド移送支持装置。
