Conventionally, a defroster that blows warm air onto a wind panel to remove fog caused by water droplets has an air outlet provided on the top surface of the instrument panel, such as the one disclosed in Utility Model Application Publication No. 61-9313. Front and rear guide walls are provided on both sides of the inside of the duct to gradually expand the flow path of the blown air blown from the duct, a nozzle is provided upstream of the guide wall to narrow down the main flow path, and on both sides of the nozzle, a guide wall is installed on each of the guide walls. Correspondingly, blowout control ports for the controlled flow are provided, and air is inflowed into and blocked from each of the control ports by moving a damper slidably provided across the flow path at the bottom of the nozzle. As a result, the air is blown out along either of the front and rear guide walls, and as a result, the wind direction is directed toward the windshield to directly perform a defrosting effect, or it is directed toward the occupants, where the main cooling and heating effect is achieved. It has been proposed to do something like this. However, this device has a complicated structure and is very expensive to manufacture, and the damper mechanism that slides across the air flow path makes the entire device large, which is a problem in the limited space inside an automobile cabin. There are many.

Another example is the device disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 59-102613. A partition plate is installed along the duct leading to the air outlet provided on the top surface of the instrument panel to divide the inside of the duct into front and back to form a main air outlet and a sub air outlet.
The upper edge of the front surface of the partition plate has a guide portion with a semicircular cross section that bulges forward, that is, toward the main air outlet, and further below the partition plate is a damper for opening and closing the sub air outlet. It is equipped with With this configuration, when the secondary air outlet is opened by the damper, air is blown out equally from both the main and sub air outlets, flows toward the windshield directly above the air outlet, and has a defrosting effect. On the other hand, when the sub-air outlet is blocked, air flows only through the main outlet, but in this case, the Coanda effect is activated by the action of the guide section, and the airflow is pushed backwards, mainly for heating and cooling. perform an action.
However, in the case of this device, only two directions can be selected for adjusting the wind direction, and the deflection effect of the wind direction due to the Coanda effect is slight, so in practice, this effect cannot be expected to be very effective.

That is, according to the present invention, the defroster duct is installed so that the air outlet opens near the bottom of the window glass in the interior of an automobile, and the air outlet opens in opposite directions on both the front and rear walls of the duct. It is formed as a tapered slit due to the inclination, and the inside thereof is divided into two into front and back by a wind direction guide to form both a front flow path and a rear flow path,
The wind direction guide has a spindle-shaped cross section that is complementary to the inclined front and rear walls of the duct, while a support shaft is provided below the wind direction guide parallel to its lower edge. A duct is provided in which a damper is pivotally supported and is configured to be able to adjust the ratio of air supply to the front and rear flow passages by rotating about the support shaft. According to this mechanism, the airflows blown out from both flow paths of the outlet of the duct are directed in the axial direction of the flow path formed by the wall of the duct and the surface of the wind direction guide, and The wind from the rear flow path travels diagonally to the rear, and the wind from the rear flow path travels diagonally to the front, and both merge in front of the outlet. In this case, if you adjust the rotation angle of the damper to cut off the air supply to one opening, for example, the front flow path, the wind will blow out only from the rear flow path, and will flow exclusively toward the front, that is, the windshield. Aim to perform defrost action. Conversely, when the supply of air to the rear flow path is cut off, the wind blows out only from the front flow path and is directed exclusively toward the rear, that is, toward the passenger, producing a heating and cooling effect. When the rotation angle of the damper is adjusted to an intermediate position, the ratio of air supply to both flow paths is controlled according to the angle, and when the winds merge in front of the outlet, the air flow is directed to the side with a higher air volume. It points in a biased direction, making it possible to adjust the wind direction.

Each outlet 2 is formed as a tapered slit by a front wall 5 and a rear wall 6 of the duct 1 that are inclined to face each other. The shape of the wind direction guide 7 has a tapered cross section corresponding to the inclination of the front and rear walls 5 and 6 of the duct,
As a result, the axial direction of each flow path 9, 10 between each wall 5, 6 and the surface of the wind direction guide 7 facing the wall is directed diagonally backward and diagonally forward as shown by arrows A and B, respectively. That is, they are oriented toward the passenger side and the windshield side, respectively.

The damper 12 can be rotated to any angle by operating an arm fixed to the end of a support shaft 11 passing through the side wall of the vertical duct 1b using an operating wire or the like. From a position where the air supply to the rear flow path 10 is completely blocked, as shown by the solid line in the figure, to a position where the air supply to the front flow path 9 is completely blocked, as shown by the dotted line in the figure. It is now possible to occupy any position between the blocked position and the blocked position. Therefore, by operating this damper,
It becomes possible to control the supply ratio of air to both flow paths 9 and 10.

First, when the damper 12 is moved to the position shown by the solid line in FIG. 3, the air supply to the rear passage 10 of the duct 1 is cut off, and wind blows out only from the front passage 9. In this case, the wind direction is arrow A, that is, the direction most inclined toward the passenger. If this air is adjusted in advance to a comfortable temperature and humidity, air conditioning will be performed mainly for heating and cooling the vehicle interior.

When the damper 12 is moved to the position shown by the dotted line in the figure, the air supply to the front flow path 9 is cut off, and wind blows out only from the rear flow path 10, and the direction of the wind is arrow B, that is, the front Aim directly at glass 4. That is, in this case, air conditioning is performed mainly by defrosting the air heated to an appropriate temperature by the heater unit.

Of course, it is possible to hold the damper 12 in a position other than the above two positions, and in this case, for example, if the air volume from the rear flow path 10 is greater than the air volume from the front flow path 9, it is possible to hold the damper 12 in other positions. It will be easily understood that the blown air is directed in a direction slightly biased toward the windshield 4, and vice versa, it is directed in a direction slightly biased toward the passenger side. In conventional defroster, the wind hits only a specific part of the lower part of the windshield 4, so even if the fog in this part is removed, the fog in other parts is often difficult to eliminate, but with the present invention. In some cases, the wind can be moved to a desired position by adjusting the wind direction, making it possible to defrost the entire windshield in a short time.

In the illustrated embodiment, a damper is provided in the vertical duct section provided at the center of the three air outlets, and the air distributed back and forth is guided by a partition plate and distributed to each air outlet. It leads to the formed front and rear flow channels. Alternatively, if a dedicated vertical duct is provided for each outlet, the height of the partition plate can be shortened and the damper can be pivoted directly below the wind direction guide as shown in Figure 4. be.

As described above, according to the present invention, the front and rear walls of the duct and the wind direction guide provided on the partition plate give different directivity to the blown air passing through the front and rear flow passages, and further, the partition By operating the damper installed below the board, the amount of air supplied to both channels can be made variable, so the direction of the wind from both channels that merge in front of the outlet can be controlled within a predetermined range. It became possible to control it arbitrarily. This makes it possible for one duct to perform both defrosting and heating/cooling functions.
