Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease noises by providing a plurality of pipe paths in such a way that the inlets and outlets are opened in facing to a print head or a platen in the neighborhood of the print head or the platen in a printer performing printing by providing an impact by means of a print wire. CONSTITUTION:Five pipe path members 14 are shifted and piled up one by one by a dimension P2 in the direction C and are covered by a pipe path member 15 and a cover 11 is fixed and a pipe path 13 is provided on the upper part of a print head 3 and a platen to form four kinds of pipe paths 13 each with a different length, a U-shaped, a width of P1 and a depth of T1 wherein the inlet is opened and faced to the print head 3 or the platen. Noises caused by printing are generated from the print head and the platen and are radiated into a case part. The noises entered from the inlet of the pipe path 13 positioned on the upper part of the print head 3 and the platen have path lengths of L1, L2, L3 and L4 and remarkable attenuation occurs by interference at the number of frequency where each path difference with the path L5, L6, L7 and L8 of a direct sound from the print head 3 and the platen to the outlet of the pipe path 13 is made as a half wave length to decrease noises.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION Problems to be Solved by the Invention
The silencer disclosed in 6379 is a resonator having a communication portion 16 as shown in FIG. 7, and reduces noise by energy loss due to resonance (generally called Helmholtz type resonator). .. Since this method utilizes a sharp resonance phenomenon of a specific frequency, there is a problem that the noise cannot be attenuated over a wide frequency band and the noise cannot be sufficiently reduced. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems and to provide a low-noise printer in which the noise peak is reduced over a wide frequency band.

The printing paper 6 is fed from a paper feed port 7 provided in a case member 1 of the printer, wound around a platen 2, printed by a print head 3, and ejected from a paper ejection port 9. The carriage 4 is supported by a guide shaft 5 so that the carriage 4 can reciprocate in the column direction of the printer. An ink ribbon 18 is interposed between the print head 3 and the print paper 6 and fixed to the carriage 4. The print head 3 is provided with a plurality of print wires (moving in the digit direction of the printer). (Not shown) is driven at a desired timing to perform printing. An openable cover 11 and a paper discharge port cover 12 are attached to the case member 1, and the paper discharge port cover 12 is rotatably connected to the cover 11. A sound absorbing member 10 is arranged behind the print head 3 of the case member 1 to effectively absorb noise emitted from the print head 3 to the rear (left side in FIG. 1). A plurality of conduits 13 are provided above the print head 3 and the platen 2 of the cover 11 so that the inlet and the outlet face the print head 3 or the platen 2 and open.

In this embodiment, the pipe line member 14 is shifted in the dimension P2 shown in FIG.
A cover 13 is attached to the cover 11, and a pipe line 13 is provided on the print head 3 and the platen 2 to cover the print head 3 or the platen 2. Pipe line 1 with width P1 and depth T1
3 is formed. Since the print head 3 moves in the digit direction of the printer, there is no distinction of a specific entrance / exit in the U-shaped conduit 13. Hereinafter, the one closer to the print head 3 will be referred to as an inlet and the farther one will be referred to as an outlet.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show the relationship between the print head 3 and the conduit 13 which is deviated by the dimension P2. The path length L1 from the upper part of the print head 3 of FIG.
And a difference in path length L5 from the print head 3 to the outlet of the conduit 13 (hereinafter referred to as path difference) and a difference in path length L9 and path length L10 in FIG. To do.
This is because the inlets of the path lengths L1 and L9 in the conduit 13 are both above the print head 3 and the distance of the outlets from the print head 3 is substantially different by P2, which makes it possible to create a plurality of path differences.

Noise caused by printing is generated from the print head 3 and the platen 2 and radiated into the case member 1. The noise entered from the inlet of the conduit 13 arranged above the print head 3 and the platen 2 passes through the conduit 13 and is radiated again from the outlet. At this time, the noise has a path length of L1, L2, L3, and L4 from the print head 3 and the platen 2 to the conduit 13.
Path difference of direct sound to the exit of L5, L6, L7, L8, that is, L1-L5, L2-L6, L
3-L7, L4-L8, etc. causes a significant attenuation due to interference at a frequency where the path difference is a half wavelength, and noise is reduced.

In this example, in the vicinity of the print head 3,
20 types of path differences can be created by shifting the size of the pipe member 14 of four types of pipe lines 13 having different lengths and the pipe line member 14 by five, and noise can be attenuated over a wide range of frequencies. It is advisable to make these path differences correspond to the peak frequency of noise generated from the print head 3 and the platen 2. As a result, the noise can be reduced in a wide frequency band near the noise source, and the noise can be significantly reduced as a whole.
