The honeycomb filter element disclosed in No. 154319 or Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 60-124622 is also a proposal related to the above, and although the purposes of these ideas are different, they all utilize the honeycomb filter element. The outline will be explained with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4.

The honeycomb type filter element (hereinafter abbreviated as honeycomb element) 10 shown in FIG. As shown, the winding core 7 is formed by connecting the peak portion 3 at one end and the valley portion 4 at the other end with adhesive, for example, to form closed portions 5 and 6.
It is made by winding layers in a spiral shape.

A hollow pipe-shaped core is usually used to reduce weight, and as mentioned above, both ends are closed with epoxy or the like to prevent air flow within the core. The type that solidifies the agent has the problems of poor seal reliability, poor workability, and high cost.

To solve this problem, a technique is known in which a metallic stopper is fixed with an adhesive to the end of the hole in a hollow metallic core to close the core (Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 144714/1981).

However, since the conventionally known technology described above uses a metal material as the winding core, it is difficult to bond it to the blind lid made of the same metal, requiring measures such as providing an adhesive pool, and furthermore, both are rigid. Since it is a metal with a high viscosity, there is a risk that the adhesive will crack or peel off during use, causing problems in terms of ensuring sealing performance.

A pipe-shaped winding core made of paper is used, and the inlet side of the winding core has a flat flange with a diameter that is approximately the same as the outside diameter of the winding core, and a diameter that is approximately the same as the inside diameter of the winding core. Adhesive is applied to the flange of the blind lid consisting of the inserted portion and the side surface of the inserted portion, and the blind lid is inserted and fixed onto the winding core.

A blind lid with a flange and an insert on the entrance surface of the pipe-shaped winding core is airtightly fixed to the paper core, which is easy to adhere to, and it maintains a sufficient seal and is highly durable. Even during use, dust-containing air flowing in from the air inlet side does not pass through the pipe-shaped winding core, but passes through a honeycomb filter provided on the outside of the winding core and is purified.

The winding core 17 is made of paper and has a pipe shape, and as shown in FIG. 1, a honeycomb element 20 is formed on the outside of the core 17 in the same manner as in the conventional method, and an air cleaner casing C shown by an imaginary two-dot chain line is formed on the outside of the core 17, as shown in FIG. It is stored in. In the figure, the left side is the air inflow side A, and the right side is the air outflow side B. A blind lid 11 is airtightly fixed to the end of the winding core 17 on the inflow side A. That is, as shown in FIG. 2, the blind lid 11 is formed by pressing, for example, a thin iron plate provided with a flange 12 and a convex insert 13. And the flange 12 and the winding core 17
The outer diameter of the core 17 is approximately the same as that of the side surface 14 of the inner insertion portion 13 and the inner diameter (inner surface 16) of the winding core 17. Winding core 17 and blind lid 11
To fix the flange, apply adhesive to the surface of the flange 12 on the convex inner part 13 side of the blind lid 11 and the side surface 14 of the inner part 13, insert the inner part 13 into the inner surface 16 of the winding core 17, and then close the flange. 12 is brought into contact with the inlet surface 15 of the winding core 17, and the flange 12 and the inlet surface 15, and the side surface 14 and the inner surface 16 are bonded together.

As mentioned above, the present invention uses a paper pipe-shaped winding core in a honeycomb filter element, and a blind tube having a flange with approximately the same diameter as the outside diameter of the winding core, and an inner part with approximately the same diameter as the inside diameter of the winding core. Since we applied adhesive to the lid and fixed it airtightly to the entrance surface of the winding core on the inflow side, the paper core deformed when the blind lid was inserted, causing the core and blind lid to deform. No excessive force is applied when mating. Therefore, sufficient bonding strength between the winding core and the blind lid can be ensured, sealing properties and assembly workability are excellent, and manufacturing costs can be reduced. Furthermore, since the winding core is made of paper, it is sufficiently bonded to the filter medium, resulting in improved sealing performance at the beginning of winding of the filter medium.
