Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent cross-talk at contact projected part. CONSTITUTION:A shield part 12 made of an insulator is installed in the contact projected side of a connector main body 1. The shield part 12 is composed of a first part 13, a second part 14, and a third part 15. At the corresponding to the contacts of respective parts, recessed grooves 13a-15a, the wall faces coated with a conductive coating, are formed. The coating part and an earth circuit of a printed substrate 16 are connected electrically each other. The terminal part 2b of each contact 2 is surrounded by the recessed grooves 13a-15a and an electromagnetic shield is formed against the terminal part 2b. Consequently, the cross-talk between contacts 2 is surely prevented from occurring.

Further, it is difficult to match the characteristic impedance set in the circuit of the printed circuit board due to the restriction of the pitch between terminals of the contact 2 and the thickness and width of the terminals. That is, since the conventional connector deteriorates in characteristics when a high frequency electric signal is applied to the connector, it cannot be used in a portion to which such a signal is input.
