Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the noise of turbulence or changes in noise and improve the accuracy of detection by providing a noise detector in a recess formed in the inner side of a duct and by providing in it a porous elastic material having no sound-absorbing ability and by forming the inner side into a smooth level surface. CONSTITUTION:A recess 1 is formed in the inner side of a duct 101. A continuously foamed porous elastic material 2 having no sound-absorbing ability is provided in the recess 1 and the inner surfaces of the duct 101 are formed into a smooth even surface. A detector 102 for detecting noise which propagates inside the duct 101 is provided inside the recess 1. The detector 102 is connected to a control circuit 103 which produces a sound having an opposite phase to the detected noise. The control circuit 103 is connected to a sound generator 104 by which the sound having an opposite phase to a noise is emitted into the duct 101. As a result, noise occurring in the duct 101 can be canceled positively. Since the inner side of the duct 101 is a smooth even surface, noise of turbulence or changes in noise can be prevented.
