Abstract

PURPOSE:To conduct the dressing to a metal bonded grinding wheel safely, highly efficiently, and highly accurately, without requiring special skill. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel acting surface A3 of a metal bonded grinding wheel A is covered with a cover 1. A liquid passage 4 is formed with an internal surface 1a of the cover 1 and the grinding wheel acting surface A3 of the metal bonded grinding wheel A, while a liquid inlet port 5 and a liquid outlet port 6, both of which are connected to the liquid passage 4, are formed onto the cover 1. The dressing liquid is supplied/circulated from the liquid inlet port 4 into the liquid passage 4 and discharged from the outlet port 6. Thus, while being circulated, the dressing liquid is passed and brought into contact with the grinding wheel acting surface A3 of the metal bonded grinding wheel A, so that the metallic bond sticking to the surface of the grinding wheel acting surface A3 is chemically dissolved and removed. After this, the grinding wheel acting surface A3 is washed with washing liquid as required.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, dressing of a grindstone (wheel) whose grinding performance has deteriorated has been performed mechanically (dressing) using a dressing tool such as a dressing stick or a diamond dresser. Therefore, not only the dressing work is inefficient and requires a high degree of skill, but in the case of a grindstone made of a hard bond such as a metal bond grindstone, the accuracy is poor and the grindstone working surface (use surface) is adversely affected. There was a problem.

According to this chemical dressing method, the metal bond on the grindstone working surface of the metal bond grindstone can be removed in proportion to the concentration of the bond remover (dressing liquid) and the immersion time, and as a result, the grindstone working surface. It was found that it is possible to control the protrusion amount of the abrasive grains.

The dressing liquid to be used is determined by the type of metal bond that constitutes the metal bond grindstone, but it is preferable to add a mineral acid, an organic acid, a metal halide or an oxidizer. For copper-tin-based and copper-tin-based cobalt-containing metal bonds, ferric chloride, mixed sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide, cupric chloride, ammonium persulfate, sulfuric acid and chromic acid It is effective to use ferric chloride, nitric acid, oxalic acid / hydrogen peroxide, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, etc. for iron-based metal bonds.
A three-component system of phosphoric acid is effective, and for a cemented carbide metal bond composed of cobalt and tungsten, a nitric acid system and a hydrochloric acid system in which Rochelle salt is dissolved in hydrochloric acid are effective.

Next, a concrete example of the dressing method according to the present invention will be described. Example 1. After attaching the cover 1 to the abrasive grain portion of the diamond grindstone A,
12% sulfuric acid, 8% hydrogen peroxide solution is used as the dressing liquid, and the dressing liquid supply pump is used to cover 1.
The dressing liquid was supplied into the liquid passage 4 from the lower liquid inlet 5. The supplied dressing liquid was allowed to flow through the liquid passage 4 so as to discharge (dissolve) the metal bond on the surface of the whetstone while discharging (dissolving) the metal bond from the liquid outlet 6 at the top of the cover to the dressing liquid storage tank. This dressing was performed for 20 minutes, then the dressing liquid was discharged from the liquid passage 4 and then washing water was passed for 5 minutes. During that time, no liquid leakage was observed from the contact portion between the cover 1 and the side surface of the grindstone. Although this diamond grindstone was practically ungroundable before dressing, diamond abrasive grains were projected on the working surface of the grindstone dressed for 20 minutes and had an average surface roughness of about 10 μm. When grinding was performed with this dressed diamond whetstone, a good grinding process was reproduced.

Example 2 In the same manner as in Example 1 above, a 30% ferric chloride aqueous solution was used as a dressing solution and dressing was carried out for 25 minutes. As a result, a good grindstone working surface having an average surface roughness of about 13 μ was obtained. Was given.

As described above, the chemical dressing method of the metal bond grindstone according to the present invention is such that the dressing liquid that corrodes and dissolves the metal bond of the metal bond grindstone is contacted while circulating on the grindstone working surface of the metal bond grindstone. After that, since the grindstone working surface was washed with a cleaning liquid as needed, there was no adverse effect on the grindstone working surface,
Moreover, the protrusion amount of the abrasive grains can be easily controlled without requiring special skill, and therefore highly accurate dressing can be performed efficiently and effectively.

Further, in the chemical dressing apparatus for metal bond grindstones according to the present invention, a liquid passage is formed by the inner surface of the cover covering the grindstone working surface of the metal bond grindstone and the grindstone working surface, and the dressing is performed in the liquid passage. Since the liquid or the cleaning liquid is supplied and circulated, the following effects are obtained. a) Only the metal bond on the working surface of the grindstone can be chemically and efficiently dissolved and removed, so that the dressing work of the metal bond grindstone can be efficiently performed. b) When dressing the metal bond grindstone, the dressing work can be performed with the metal bond grindstone still attached to the grinder. Therefore, not only the work of attaching and detaching the metal bond grindstone to the grinder is unnecessary, but also the work of balancing the flange to the grindstone shaft and the centering work of the grindstone working surface are completely unnecessary. Not only will it be improved, but it will be easier to ensure accuracy and safety in the grinding work. c) Since the liquid passage for supplying and circulating the dressing liquid or the cleaning liquid is a closed system, it is possible to use hydrochloric acid, which is inexpensive as a dressing liquid but is difficult to handle because gas is generated, which is difficult to handle. Become. d) The structure is simple, its handling is easy and safe, and the dressing work can be performed easily.
