Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a paper sheer re-feed device by which a blocking phenomenon to a paper sheet bundle can be prevented and paper sheet underfeed can be carried out highly reliably by arranging a feed quantity regulating member which is inclined in the same direction as the butting surface and is formed of an elastic frictional body whose upper part is fixed and lower part is a free end and has a prescribed quantity of space between the free end and the lower side conveying surface. CONSTITUTION:A feed quantity regulating member 150 inclined in the same direction as the stopper butt surface 103a is arranged upstream of a separating nip N as well as downstream of the stopper butt surface 103a. The feed quantity regulating member 150 is formed of a movable elastic frictional body 150a stuck on a support part 110b extending from an upper guide plate 110, and the lower end is a deformable free end projected by L from the support part 110b. The tip of a paper sheet bundle 200 is further dislocated in a wedge shape by means of this feed quantity regulating member, and an upper layer part is regulated, and only a lower layer part is passed. Since the resistance force applied to the tip of the paper sheet bundle is reduced due to deformation of the feed quantity regulating member, a blocking phenomenon to the paper sheet bundle can be prevented, so that a trouble with paper sheet feed can be prevented beforehand.

By the way, generally, in the lower feed method, when the lowermost sheet is fed, the upper sheet bundle is also tried to be fed into the separation nip, so that a paper feeding trouble (heavy paper feeding) occurs. (Sending, non-feeding, slipping, etc.) are likely to occur.

As a conventional technique for improving this, it is known to form a wedge shape in which the lower side of the sheet bundle on the feeding side precedes the upper side. If the sheet bundle is shaped like this and the sheets are fed in order from the lower sheet, the bottom sheet is likely to reach the separation nip, and the upper sheet bundle is easily separated, so that the sheet feeding performance may be improved. As a means for forming the wedge shape on the sheet bundle, there is a technique in which an inclined separating member is provided in front of the separation nips and the sheet bundle is abutted against the separating member to shift the leading end in a wedge shape (see, for example, Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 2-178134).

The force N 1 for pushing up the separating member 160 is considered to be balanced with the force Q for returning the sheet bundle 200 and the force S for pushing down the sheet bundle 200, and the force of each part is calculated. Due to the action of the pressing force S, movement resistances (friction forces) R 1 and R 2 are generated on the upper surface and the lower surface of the part 200a of the sheet bundle 200 to be moved. This wedge resistance R 1 , R
The size of 2 is the conveyance force F by the delivery roller 120, the friction coefficient μ 1 between the paper and the intermediate tray 101, the friction coefficient μ P between the paper, and the line perpendicular to the intermediate tray 101 and the separating member 160. Is determined by the angle θ formed by. Here, if the movement resistance R 2 is larger than the force Q for returning the sheet bundle 200, the sheet is closed at the lower part of the separating member 160. When the angle θ is small, it is easy to pass the sheet, but when the paper is face curled, the separating member 160 does not feed the sheet as shown in FIG. 13, so the angle θ is generally 30 degrees to 45 degrees. .. The force relationship between them is as follows: F = Q + R 1 Q = N 1 cos θ S = N 2 = N 1 sin θ = Q tan θ R 1 = μ 1 S = {μ 1 tan θ / (1 + μ 1 tan θ)} F R 2 = Μ p S ≈μ p tan θ · F, and the lower layer paper passage condition is tan θ <1 / (μ 1 + μ p ).

However, even if the wedge shape is successfully formed in the sheet bundle, when the number of sheets in the sheet bundle increases, the feeding force cannot be increased, or when a sheet having a large friction coefficient between sheets is handled, At the time of feeding the bottom sheet, the pressure between the sheets increases on the inclined surface, the so-called wedging effect of the separating member causes the sheet bundle to be closed, and the bottom sheet does not reach the separation nip, causing a jam or slipping. , Block double feeding is likely to occur.

It should be noted that the blockage can be eliminated by increasing the feeding force, but in that case, a load more than necessary is applied, and the separation member is apt to wear and abnormal vibration. Also, since the double-sided device handles the paper on which one side of the image has been formed, when high pressure is applied to the separation section, toner, ink, etc. in the image section of the paper rub against the surface of the mating paper and fall off to contaminate the mating paper surface. There is a problem that. This occurs particularly remarkably under the condition that a sheet bundle with the image facing upward (face-up state) is fed downward from the bottom sheet.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The above-mentioned object is to form an image on the other side of one-sided image-formed sheets stacked on an intermediate tray, one sheet at a time starting from the bottom sheet. In the re-feed device that feeds toward the image forming unit,
Refeeding means including a feed roller and a separating member that form a separating nip for refeeding one by one from the bottom sheet,
A stopper gate is formed in which the abutment surface with the leading edge of the paper and the paper stacking surface of the intermediate tray form an acute angle to incline the abutment surface toward the upstream side, and the abutment surface is opened prior to re-feeding. On the conveying path between the separating means of the sheet re-feeding means and the stopper gate means, the elastic friction body is inclined in the same direction as the abutting surface, the upper side is fixed and the lower side is a free end. This is achieved by providing a feed amount regulating member arranged with a predetermined amount of clearance between the free end and the lower transport surface.

Since the feeding amount regulating member constituted by the elastic body having the free end at the leading end has a weaker regulating force toward the leading end, the upper layer portion of the sheet bundle is regulated, and only the lower layer portion is allowed to pass.
The leading edge of the sheet bundle is shifted like a wedge.

FIG. 10 is an explanatory view showing the feeding state of the sheet bundle according to the present invention. Since the feeding amount regulating member 150 is an elastically deformable friction member, the feeding amount regulating member 150 is pushed up and deformed by the wedge effect of the sheet bundle 200 as shown in the drawing, so that even if the installation angle θ of the feeding amount regulating member 150 is large, The increase in pressing force S is small. That is, since the resistances R 1 and R 2 are small, the sheet bundle 200 is unlikely to be closed, and the tip of the sheet bundle 200 can easily reach the nip portion N.

According to the first aspect of the invention, since the feeding amount regulating member is an elastic body having a free end, the regulating force against the sheet advance is weaker toward the leading end, and the leading end of the sheet bundle is further extended. It can be shifted like a wedge, whereby the upper layer portion can be regulated and only the lower layer portion can be passed. Further, the resistance force applied to the leading end of the sheet bundle is reduced by the deformation of the feed amount regulating member, so that the phenomenon of blockage of the sheet bundle can be prevented and the sheet feeding trouble can be prevented.
