To attach an eave to an opening such as a window or doorway in a wooden building, drill a handle hole in the stud at the relevant location, protrude a handle at the end of the eaves arm, and insert and connect it into the handle hole. I'm trying to reinforce it.

Drilling a handle hole in a pillar as described above reduces the cross section of the pillar and weakens its strength. In the event of an earthquake or strong wind, the pillar may break due to the stress placed on the joint. Or the connection of the handle is loose,
It is possible that the eaves will break and fall off, and reinforcing the eaves with hardware is only an auxiliary measure and cannot be guaranteed.

Therefore, the purpose of this proposal is to provide a mounting bracket that allows the eaves to be assembled stably and firmly without reducing the cross section of the pillar without using the conventional connection method using handle sash joints. The details will be explained below. The mounting bracket of this invention has a fixed iron plate 1 of a certain length in a cross-sectional shape fixedly fixed to the front and one side of a pillar 2, and a front plate 1a of the fixed iron plate 1 has a fixed iron plate 1 of a certain length parallel to each other at the lower part. A pair of engaging pieces 3, 3 are provided to fit and fix into a slot 5 bored in the upper surface of the eaves arm 4 in the direction opposite to the column, and a projecting piece 6 is provided on the upper part of the front plate 1a. It is configured to be fixed to a corresponding member of the eaves.

In order to fix the fixed iron plate 1 to the pillar 2, the front plate 1a and the side plate 1b are nailed to the pillar 2 at a predetermined height through holes 7 set in advance at a plurality of locations on the plate surface. The configuration of the eaves can be arbitrary, but the vertical parts of the shaped engagement pieces 3, 3 are fitted into the slots 5 bored in the upper surface of the arm 4 in the direction opposite to the pillars, and the flat parts are joined to the upper surface of the arm. It is designed to be fixed with nails. Further, the projecting piece 6 of the fixed iron plate 1 is preferably joined and nailed to the upper surface of a wild rafter 9 fixed on the surface of the decorative plywood 8 which is usually interposed in the intermediate layer of the eaves. A shedding board 10 is laid out on the top surface, and a surface copper plate 11 is covered to complete the assembly and connection of the eaves using the proposed mounting fittings. However, it is optional that other construction methods may be used for the roofing boards, copper plates, etc. as appropriate.

Depending on the length of the target eaves, this mounting bracket may have a wide protrusion 6' at a slightly lower position than the protrusion 6 on the upper part of the fixed iron plate, which can be used in combination to strengthen the assembly. It may also stabilize. This wide protruding piece 6' shall be nailed to the upper surface of the rear girder 12 of the eave.

Since the main proposal is structured as described above,
When assembling each eave member that has been pre-processed in a predetermined manner, the engaging pieces 3 are arranged in parallel in the slots 5 of the arms 4.
3 is inserted, and the vertical portions of both pieces are pressed against the groove wall and nailed to the flat portion, thereby increasing the bonding force. Further, in the upper part, the projecting piece 6 is connected to the wild rafter 9, and together with the lower engaging pieces 3, the eaves is protected against the load applied to the tip of the arm 4 in the direction of inclination of the eave. The fixed iron plate 1 supports the entire column and is fixed to the front and side surfaces of the column 2 by nailing, thereby maintaining a firm integration.

If the eaves are long and it is not safe to simply use fixed iron plates to connect the projecting pieces 6 to the rafters on both studs, use a separate fixed iron plate with wider projecting pieces 6'. Then, attach the protruding piece 6' to the rear girder 1.
It is possible to secure stable fixation of the eaves by bonding and fixing the eaves to the surface of the eaves, reinforcing the bonding force and strengthening the fixing force.

Although the wooden structure of the eaves is optional, it illustrates the most common example. The lower engagement pieces 3, 3 of the fixed iron plate 1 are fitted into the slots 5 drilled in the direction opposite to the pillars at the end of the arm 4, and the flat parts of the engagement pieces are joined and nailed to the upper surface of the arm 4. Front girder 13 and pillar 2 assembled on arm 4
Decorative rafters 14 are mounted across the back girder 12 arranged in the front left and right direction, and a small rafter 15 is fixed to the upper surface of the decorative rafter 14. 16 is Hirokomai and 17 is Yodo.

Decorative plywood 8 is displayed on the upper surface of the small dancer 15, and wild rafters 9 are set on the upper surface at regular intervals. A fixed iron plate 1 is placed on the surface of the wild rafter 9 in the front direction of the pillar 2.
The projecting pieces 6 of
Further, a copper plate 11 is spread on the upper surface of the eaves, so that the eaves are completed and are inseparable from the fixed iron plate 1. The fixed iron plate 1 is nailed to the front and one side of a predetermined pillar 2 at a plurality of locations through the perforations 7, thereby making it possible to maintain a sturdy and stable assembly of the eaves.

In Japanese houses, the spacing between the studs is usually one ken, and the eaves are often set to be long if desired. In this case, if necessary, as shown in FIG. 2, a fixed iron plate 1 having a wide protrusion 6' is bonded and fixed onto the surface of the rear girder 12 for reinforcement.

As mentioned above, this proposal does not use a connecting means using handle joints when assembling the eaves to the pillars, but instead fixes fixed iron plates of a certain length in cross-section to the front and one side of the pillars. The engaging piece on the surface is fitted into the groove drilled in the arm of the eave and is fixed, and the protruding piece on the upper part is fixed to the corresponding member of the eave, so it can not be inserted into the handle hole like in the past. As a result, the fixed iron plate is firmly fixed to the column over a wide area without reducing the cross section of the column, and the arm and column can be tightly connected and fixed, and the protrusion and corresponding member can be tightly connected. This bond strengthens the connection between the eaves and the pillars, and absorbs the load applied to the ends of the arms in the direction of the eaves inclination, reducing the burden on the arms, thereby preventing external forces such as earthquakes and strong winds. It is robust and can prevent damage and falling off to the maximum extent possible, and is easy to assemble.
The bonding strength can be maintained for a long time, and the practical value is said to be extremely large.
