(b) Prior Art As disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 58-136339, in conventional dot impact printers, a thermistor is installed as a temperature sensor in the print head in order to prevent the magnetic coil of the print head from burning out. When the detected temperature detected by the thermistor is lower than a predetermined set temperature, the printing operation continues, and when it is higher, the printing operation is stopped until the detected temperature falls below the set temperature.

(c) Problems to be solved by the invention In the conventional technology, as mentioned above, when the detected temperature of the print head becomes higher than the set temperature, the printing operation is not completed until the detected temperature falls below the set temperature. There was a problem in that the printing speed was extremely slow because the printer stopped at a certain point.

(d) Means for Solving the Problems The present invention provides that the magnetic coil of the printing head has a heat-resistant temperature T P during repeated use, for example.
Heat resistant temperature during instantaneous use even at 180℃
T PH was created in view of the fact that T PH is 220°C, which is higher than T P , and the first temperature T 1 and second temperature T 2 based on the heat-resistant temperature T P and T PH (T 1 < T 2 ) are set as the first and second set temperatures, respectively, and before printing each line, it is determined whether the detected temperature of the print head exceeds the first set temperature, and if it does not, the printing operation for that line is started. If the detected temperature exceeds the second set temperature, the printing operation is stopped for a predetermined time, and after stopping, it is determined whether or not the detected temperature exceeds the second set temperature, which is higher than the first set temperature. The printing operation is executed, and if the detected temperature exceeds the first set temperature, the printing operation is stopped until the detected temperature falls to the first set temperature, or the first step is to determine whether the detected temperature exceeds the first set temperature. This control returns to the determination step.

(E) Effect In the present invention, when printing the next line, even if the detected temperature exceeds the first set temperature but is lower than the second set temperature after stopping for a predetermined time, if the detected temperature is lower than the second set temperature,
Since the next line is printed, the printing speed is faster than in the past.

Next, to explain the operation, when printing of the previous line is completed and the next line is to be printed, as shown in Figure 1, before printing, the detected temperature T H is set to the first set temperature T. Determine whether it is higher than 1 . In this first judgment, if the detected temperature T H is lower than the first set temperature T 1 , the next line is printed as usual, but if T H > T 1 , in order to lower the temperature of the print head 1, After a predetermined period of rest, for example, 15 seconds, after the rest, a second determination is made as to whether the detected temperature T H after the rest is higher than the second set temperature T 2 (T 1 < T 2 ). Move.

Here, the first and second set temperatures T 1 and T 2 are:
The heat-resistant temperature T P during repeated use and the heat-resistant temperature T PH during instantaneous use are determined based on experimental data, for example, T 1 = 100°C,
T 2 =120°C. That is, the second set temperature T 2 is set as follows, even if the detected temperature is at this temperature T 2 after stopping for a predetermined time, if an instantaneous use such as printing one line is to be performed next. The temperature is set at a level that can prevent the magnet coil 2 from burning out due to its use.

In the second judgment , if T If H ≦T 2 , printing operation for one line will be performed. However, as mentioned above, since this printing operation is instantaneous, the magnet coil 2 will not be burnt out. When the printing operation for one line is completed, the process returns to the first determination and the same steps are repeated.

Therefore, for example, after the printing operation for one line, if the detected temperature T H is T H > T 1 , the printing operation is stopped again for a predetermined period of time. However, in this one line printing operation, if the density of the data to be printed is small, there is a possibility that the detected temperature T H may drop during printing.
In particular, in a serial type printer, the movement of the print head 1 by the CR motor has a cooling effect, so this possibility is high. Therefore, if the detected temperature T H after printing one line is T H ≦T 1 , the next line will be printed continuously as usual.

The reason why the process returns to the first judgment after the printing operation for one line after the second judgment is because there is a slight delay time between the actual temperature of the print head 1 and the detected temperature.
If continuous line printing is allowed when T H ≦T 2 , the magnet coil 2 may be burnt out.
