Abstract

PURPOSE:To automatically line feed to the head of a page even if an operator erroneously set a position of a gist, and to start printing by automatically detecting a sewing line and deciding a head printing position. CONSTITUTION:When an operator starts printing after sheets are set in a printer, a start signal is applied to a platen driver 4, line feeding of a continuous sheet 1 is started, and sewing line detectors 11, 12 start sewing line detection in response thereto. When the line is detected, a sewing line detection signal is sent to a signal discriminator 3. The discriminator 3 regards as that the sheet l is broken or not normally set if the detection signal is sent only from one of the detectors 11, 12, and applies a control signal for designating a page feed to the driver 4. If the detection signals are sent simultaneously from both the detectors 11 and 12, the discriminator 3 regards as that the sheet is normally set, and controls to stop line feed, page feed of the driver 4.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a method for determining the leading print position of printer paper.
In particular, the present invention relates to a method for determining the leading print position of continuous printer paper having perforations for separating pages.

In the conventional printer first print position determination method, the position of the first print line is determined based on the position of the paper set in the printer by the operator.

In the above-mentioned method for determining the leading print position of printer paper, the leading print position set by the printer depends on the paper setting position by the operator, so if the operator sets the paper in the wrong position, the content that should be on the same page may be separated from the page. The disadvantage is that the printing is printed across the front and back of the perforations.

The leading print position determination method for printers of the present invention is provided in a printer that feeds and prints on continuous printer paper having perforations for page separation, and detects the perforations on both sides of the continuous printer paper. The apparatus includes a pair of perforation detection means and a platen drive means for feeding the continuous printer paper until both of the pair of perforation detection means detect the perforation.

1 and 2 are a top view and a block diagram showing one embodiment of the present invention. A printer that prints on continuous paper 1 containing perforation 2 for each page is equipped with a perforation detector 11.
.. 12 are installed at the same position on both the left and right sides of the continuous paper 1. Perforation detectors 11 and 12 detect perforations during paper feeding, generate a perforation detection signal, and send it to signal determiner 3. When the signal determiner 3 receives the perforation detection signal,
A control signal is sent to the platen driving device 4 to instruct it to stop driving the platen. In response to the instruction to stop driving the platen, the platen driving device 4 performs a change operation so that the continuous paper 1 is positioned at the start of printing.

When the operator performs a print start operation after setting paper in the printer, a start signal is given to the platen drive device 4, and the start print position setting operation is started. That is, the platen drive device 4 starts line feed processing for the continuous paper 1, and in response, the perforation detectors 11 and 12 start perforation detection processing. When the perforation detectors 1 and 12 detect a perforation, they transmit a perforation detection signal to the signal determiner 3. If the perforation detection signal is sent from only one of the perforation detectors 11 and 12, the signal judger 3 assumes that the continuous paper 1 is torn or not set properly. , gives a control signal instructing a page break to the platen driving device 4.

Also, the perforation detection signal is transmitted to the perforation detectors 11 and 12.
If signals are sent from both at the same time, the signal determiner 3
assumes that both the paper and its set position are normal, and controls the platen drive device 4 to stop line feed and page feed processing.

As explained above, the present invention automatically detects perforations and determines the first printing position, so that even if the operator sets the paper in the wrong position, it is possible to automatically start printing with a line feed to the top of the page. Furthermore, by installing perforation detectors on both sides of the paper, even if a page is missing due to damage to the paper, this can be detected and the page can be changed until a normal part is found.
