The sweeper 1 rotates to strike the upper ends of the evenly stacked paper sheets 4 to form a gap in a part of the paper sheets 4, and the separation plates 2a, 2b, 2c The inserted paper sheets 4 are separated into blocks in the gap formed by this method, and the paper sheets 4 are arranged at intervals along the length of the paper sheets within the gap. The separation plates 2a and 2b are for holding and conveying the block-shaped paper sheets 4a between them and the backup plate 3, and the remaining separation plate 2C is for supporting the remaining block-shaped paper sheets 4b. .

Paper sheets can be separated in blocks by supporting and conveying the block-shaped paper sheets with the separation plate and the backup plate, and holding the remaining paper sheets with the remaining separation plate. Separation processing time can be significantly reduced, and since sheets are not fed out one by one, the probability of paper jams occurring can be significantly reduced.
