Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve air conditioning efficiency in an air conditioner for rolling stock running at a high speed by enclosing a pantagraph and an air conditioner body integrally with a pantagraph cover and projectingly providing a blow-out duct in an air outlet on the upper part of an outdoor machine of the air conditioner to ensure the rated blow rate of a condenser fan. CONSTITUTION:A pantagraph cover 5 is provided to enclose a pantagraph 4 and air conditioner 3 integrally disposed on a roof section 1 so that relative backward wind generated near the surface of the roof section in running changes its direction from backward to upward by the pentagraph cover 5 to reduce its influence. Also, a blow-out duct 10 for guiding radiating air from a condenser fan 9 upward is fixed to an air outlet 8 provided in an outdoor machine cover 7 for covering upper part of the outdoor machine 6. Thus, differential pressure between the discharge side and inflow side of the condenser fan 9 can be sufficiently ensured, so that the refrigerant pressure of the air conditioner can be properly controlled.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) However, in the air conditioner having the above-described structure, when the vehicle is running uphill, the outlet of the condenser fan is directly exposed to the relative wind generated when the vehicle is running. It will be done. Therefore, there is a problem in that the static pressure difference between the discharge side and the inflow side of the condenser fan is considerably reduced, and the amount of air blown from the condenser fan is halved. As a result, the refrigerant pressure in the refrigeration cycle of the air conditioner increases, and there is a risk that a safety device provided in the air conditioner will be activated, causing the air conditioner to stop operating.
