Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the hands and the surface of a roller from being hurt and damaged at the time of jam removal by moving a separation claw, which is pressed against the fixing roller to separate a transfer material, away from the fixing roller when its support member rotates to open a transfer material discharge opening. CONSTITUTION:When a fixation paper discharge part 100b is opened from a fixing device main body part 100a so as to handle jamming, the separation claw 11 is rotated anticlockwise by a spring 17 around its fulcrum away from the fixing roller 2 to sink. Then the hand is never hurt by being caught by the tip of the separation claw by mistake at the time of the jam processing. Further, when the paper discharge part 100b is closed, the surface of the claw 11 is pressed against the surface of the roller 2 in the direction perpendicular to the mutual surfaces, so the roller surface is not flawed, trouble such as the disorder and blurring of an image in the fixing device is eliminated, and the life of the fixing roller and further the fixing device is therefore prolonged.

In such a fixing device, since the transfer material P on which unfixed toner is placed by the transfer means (not shown) is not guided to the upper entrance guide 4 and the entrance logite 5, it is not guided to the fixing roller 2 and the pressure roller 3. The unfixed toner image is carried into the forming nip portion and fixed onto the transfer material P. Since the transfer material P may wrap around the fixing roller 2, in that case, in order to separate the transfer material P from the fixing roller 2, the separation claw 11 supported by the support halter 14 is pressed against the fixing roller 2 by a spring 16. has been done. However, if a paper jam (hereinafter referred to as a "jam") occurs in the fixing device for some reason, the fixing paper discharge section 100b should be moved to the support shaft 7 as shown in FIG.
By rotating around the center, the transfer material discharge port is opened and jam removal can be easily performed. At this time, the tip of the separation claw 11 is in a state of protruding upward from the support holster I4. Further, a plurality of separation claws 11 exist in the longitudinal direction of the fixing roller (direction perpendicular to the paper surface), and the paper ejection roller 12 and the paper ejection roller 13 or the separation claws 11 are attached to the supporting holster.
It is attached to 14.

In the figure, 21 is a fixing frame cover, 22 is a separation claw pressing member, 23 is a spring pressing plate, 24 is a set screw, and 25 is a spring. The spring pressing plate 23 and the spring 25 are attached to the separation claw pressing member 22 to form one unit. Here, the spring pressing plate 23 is connected to the groove 2 of the separation claw pressing member 22.

Further, the separation claw pressing member 22 to which the spring pressing plate 23 and the spring 25 are attached has a boss portion 22a that is attached to the fixing frame cover.
It is guided within the groove 21a of No. 21 and is attached movably in the direction of arrow B. When the set screw 24 is tightened while the fixing sheet discharge section 100b is closed with respect to the fixing device main body section 100a, the spring pressing plate 23 is pushed by the set screw 24 and moves in the C direction, or the separation claw pressing member 22 cannot be moved in the C direction due to the separation claw 11. For this reason, spring 2
5 is in a contracted state, and the pressure of the separating claw 11 against the fixing roller 2 increases.

In FIG. 12, the separation claw 11 is supported movably in the vertical direction with respect to a support holder 14 as a separation claw support member, or the position of the separation claw support shaft 11a is biased downward by a spring 17. Therefore, in the normal paper feeding state, the first
It is stable in the position shown in FIG. 2, and the tip of the separating claw is biased by a spring 9 in the direction of pressing against the fixing roller 2. The biasing force of the spring 17 may be small enough to move the tip of the separating claw in the direction away from the fixing roller when the support halter is rotated to open the transfer material discharge port.

Next, as shown in FIG. 13, if the transfer material P gets caught on the tip of the separation claw and a jam occurs, the separation claw 11 is lifted up by the transfer material P and separated from the surface of the fixing roller. Then, when the fixing paper discharge section 100b is rotated around the support shaft 7 for jam removal, the separating claw 11 spring 17 rotates the separating claw tip in a direction to separate it from the fixing roller, and the transfer material P is held in place. The raised position of the separation claw support shaft 11a returns to the normal paper passing position of the support holder 14.

Further, the separation claw 11 is lifted up by the transfer material P and moves vertically with respect to the support holder 14, but the separation claw support shaft 1
1a from the support holder 14, the width of the separation claw support portion 14a of the support holder near the insertion entrance of the separation claw support shaft is narrower than the diameter of the separation claw support shaft 11a. On the other hand, the separation claw is attached to the separation claw support shaft 11a or D-shaped, and the maximum diameter of the separation claw support shaft is narrower than the above-mentioned width of the separation claw support portion 14a of the support holter. It can be easily installed.

Therefore, by movably attaching the separation claw to a support holder that serves as a separation claw support member, even if the transfer material gets caught on the separation claw tip and causes a jam, the separation claw tip will separate from the fixing roller surface, allowing the fixing to proceed. It will not bite into the roller and damage the surface of the fixing roller. In addition, the same effects as in the previous embodiment can be achieved in terms of preventing injuries caused by the separating claws and preventing scratches on the surface of the fixing roller when opening and closing the fixing paper discharge section.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, the present invention provides a biasing means for pressing the separation claw against the fixing roller in the fixing roller support member, which is a separate unit from the separation claw support member that supports the separation claw. In addition, when the separation claw support member rotatably attached to the fixing roller support member is rotated to open the transfer material discharge port, a biasing means is provided to separate the separation claw from the fixing roller. Alternatively, by adopting a structure in which the separating claw moves in a direction away from the fixing roller due to its own weight, there is no chance of injury due to a hand accidentally getting caught in the separating claw during jam clearance.

Furthermore, it is also possible to support the separation claw movably with respect to the separation claw support member, and if a jam occurs and the separation claw receives a force above a certain level from the transfer material, the tip of the separation claw will bite into the surface of the fixing roller. By separating the fixing roller without any damage, the -layer can be removed without damaging the surface of the fixing roller.
