(a) When the indicated temperature of the electric furnace is set relatively higher than the melting point Tm (-1050℃) of the compound, solidification occurs at a point where the temperature gradient of the natural temperature distribution of the electric furnace is relatively large. In this case, a crystal with a high dislocation density and a relatively large amount of impurities such as melting material is grown. (b) When the specified temperature of the electric furnace is set extremely close to the melting point Tm of the compound, solidification occurs at a location where the natural temperature gradient of the electric furnace is relatively small; in this case, single crystallization The disadvantage was that the yield was extremely poor.

In other words, a major challenge is to produce high-quality single crystals that fully satisfy the physical properties required by devices. When group 1 to 2 compound semiconductors and semimagnetic semiconductor devices are manufactured using materials prepared using conventional techniques, they have the disadvantage that they are of poor quality and cannot be used at all.

In the method of producing a single crystal by producing a liquid and moving the crucible to an area with a temperature lower than the melting point, the interface between the melt in the crucible and the single crystal is substantially flat. Furthermore, there is obtained a method for producing a single crystal, characterized in that a conical lid is provided above the melt in the crucible, and the crucible is rotated around a central axis.
